Do you need to join DestinyGAF before joining one of the regional groups or does that not matter?

Need someone to confirm if my request for DestinyGAF is even in or not since whenever I decline my request and reapply to the group, it gives me an error.

Am popping this here again - Instructions are as follows:

Ok everyone there is some initial confusion about the clan caps and the new regional groups. So - each group can only support 75 members for each platform. Obviously that is nowhere near enough for DestinyGAF to handle. So, new, smaller groups will be formed based on region (and regional timezones in the case of large continents). Each of these groups will be joined with DestinyGAF as part of an alliance, so we will all be part of DestinyGAF as a whole, just people will be in regional clans.

So here are some basic instructions on how to get started:

1) If you are new and you have not yet joined DestinyGAF, go to the following web page, apply and then post here that you have joined DestinyGAF. http://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Detail/100661

2) If you are now a member of DestinyGAF or were previously before today, you can select to join one of the following regional clans. Please once you put your application in, again post below and state what region you applied for.

Is anybody else getting an Error when trying to join the DestinyGAF group? Left the regional one and canceled my initial request but whenever I try to request another, it says error. Then when I try to do it again it says an invitation is already pending. Not sure what's going on.

Seems my request for the regional one goes through just fine.

As has been said before just above, DestinyGAF is a group but as a clan would only be able to hold 75 people per a platform which is obviously useless. So regional clans are being set up and will be brought under DestinyGAF through the alliance system.

You still need to apply to DestinyGAF, but if you want to be in a clan you also need to apply for your regions group.

In the left taskbar on bungie.net, when in the DestinyGAF page hit the clan button. Then select which one you want and a request will be sent. Let the guys/girls know that you sent it and they will approve you.

It seems the admins have limited space per clan so under the DestinyGAF group they are making subgroups. IE East Coast, Central, West Coast. You need to apply to the one you want before it gets full. I got in! Very stoked!
