I find most guinea pigs pretty ugly, but Brad's are cute!

I think the ones with lighter colors on their faces are usually cuter because they have pink noses and lips. My last one was like 90% black with a few white patches. I'd like to have a lighter colored one this time if possible.

So, two weeks ago they mentioned Dig Dug II on the Bombcast and how different it is from the original. Brad then recalled that Jeff had shown it to him on some form of video content once (and that it was the first time he had seen that game).

Turns out Brad was right, they played Dig Dug II in the Namco Museum Megamix QL from '10.

Real talk UBI tried to copy Playboy X & Dwayne.

If you killed Dwayne shame on you.

Honestly, GTAIV was so fucking boring and poorly paced that I don't even remember who i took down. AND since they didn't add trophies till later on theres no way for me to check what I did.

I wanna say that I took down whichever one I disliked more, though, as that seems to make sense.

To be fair to GTAIV, Episodes of Liberty City was fantastic and made me love the series again. So not all of GTAIV is bad, just the base game mostly.

Oh yeah, I agree that both of those expansion packs were better than the main game (which I still very much enjoyed). Especially loved The Ballad of Gay Tony, which by the way is a pretty fantastic name for a video game. I seem to remember Take-Two saying that it didn't make financial sense for them to make those kind of stand-alone expansion campaigns anymore, which is a damn shame because Rockstar seems to do its best work when they can make a smaller, more concise story. GTA V's story was a mess.

GTA5 was better GTA game than GTA4 though San Andreas was my favorite. GTA5 allowed them different tones and gameplay with each character. GTA always felt like those guy films in the 90s-2000s, especially San Andreas taking tones/issues from Boyz N The Hood.

Patrick is spot on. Aiden was just an angry dick who caused his own problems and used "B-but my niece DIED!!!" as an excuse for everything and to get his way.

Granted the plot has more problems than just that (
almost every major npc was somehow involved in the opening scene in some contrived way! Its like poetry!
) but Aiden being so unlikable is a major one

It really makes me wonder if there's someone at Ubisoft who thinks that Aiden, and subsequently Conner and Edward, is a genuinely interesting and provocative MC. Nothing about him really seems that interesting, he just comes across as a thug most of the time.

Far and away the best open world crime game ever made, having not played GTA5.

Eh...best serious open world crime game. I'd rather play SR3 again than start up GTA4.

I don't really have strong feelings on GTA IV. I thought it was pretty boring (and that fucking bullshit broken PC release did not help) and never finished it. I did like some characters in it, but I didn't get too far.

Best GTA is still San Andreas.
Best open world crime game is Sleeping Dogs.

I killed Playboy X and I felt bad afterward because I never really took time out to hang with Dwayne. Dude had it rough, I should have treated him better.

I must be the only person in the world who still likes GTA IV.

I played GTAIV for the first time last year on PC. PC with ENB. It's still a great game. There was definitely some repetitiveness, but it could be really challenging, and when everything comes together just right, it's unlike anything else (also haven't played GTAV yet though.)

My GF doesn't play serious video games much, but it was awesome playing with her next to me and just having her tell me whatever she wanted me to do. The wonderment as she discovered just HOW MUCH you could actually achieve. "Shoot that guy! Oh no the cops are coming! Run and hide! You can go in that building!? Is that a boat? Can you take it? Oh my god take the boat go go go!" Those chases got really intense and wildly fun.

Also, I think a big deciding factor in if people liked the game or not is if they used auto-aim or manual aim. I use manual aim, and I was stuck on the last mission for hours. It was super intense and challenging getting through and really engaging. I watched a video of someone getting the other ending and they played with auto aim. What took a ton of tactical input, creative exploitation of weapons and crafty killing on my part, was done by holding aim, then holding fire for about 12 seconds and then they got in the building. It looked supremely dumbed down and kinda boring.

I'm stoked to try GTAV on PC once it finally hits.

I honestly think the parts where you were playing Saints Row 3 were straight up awful. The missions were terrible, the story was dumb until it got dumb, and half the game was you not in control of a fully functioning character. I would hate hated that game if it weren't for the ridiculousness. Saints Row 4 is the only decent Saints Row game and it has the same bad missions, QTEs, turret sequences, and half walking without access to your weapons. The parts in between the missions were at least fun in that game though.

Has Brad ever done a "Teach Me DOTA2" video similar to the recent Fifa video?

If not he totally should.

I think the Dota 2 quick look was done with Vinny at the controls? But Brad didn't know nearly enough about Dota yet to teach it to Vinny, just enough to get everybody in trouble.

Started the QL for The Fall, unsure if it could meet the high expectations the video description promised me. I then closed the video 10 minutes in because that game looked incredible and I didn't want to spoil it.

Also, GTA IV is a ridiculously bad game.

They said they don't want to do any more Endurance Runs.

Edward Kenway's a pretty good character to be honest, if we're gonna complain about recent Ubi protagonists I think it'd be unfair to mention him. He's cut from the same cloth as Ezio whereas Conner and Aiden are both super serious, too serious for their own good.

Speaking of Kenway, I've been playing a lot of The Saboteur the last few days and it's kinda given me a newfound appreciation for Black Flag and Assassin's Creed in general. Especially the climbing.

The Saboteur is a weird one. Literally every single mechanic (shooting, fighting, stealth, climbing) is broken. But I loved the game.

Driving around a black and white Paris in that sweet convertible sports car, while listening to mostly anachronistic music was awesome.

Plus the ending was surprisingly sombre.

It is kinda sad they are now recording Quick Looks and keeping them back for almost 5 days before they publish them. Sure, it is great to have content on a Monday, but it feels weird doing it this way.

I don't think the shooting's all that bad, just really generic. Brawling, stealth, and climbing all kinda suck, though. I recently got the Touch of Death perk so stealth melee kills are a lot more manageable now at least.

But yeah, despite the issues, I'm really enjoying it. Destroying a base and the color returning to that area is surprisingly satisfying. I've been going out of my way and trying to blow up everything and it's gotten pretty repetitive so I think I'm just gonna focus on the story for the rest of the game.

Well, if we're gonna get content on mondays that aren't live streams, that's the best way to do it.

Anyways, they're recording the Powerbombcast in a few hours.

I really loved GTA IV. I loved the handling of the cars and while the narrative was a little wishy washy, I was still engrossed in it. Honestly, it may be one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.

I'm glad people enjoyed its just that for me it was the worst GTA, by far. Boring story, characters, city, I didn't like the driving, ran like shit on PC for so long, bah.

This game could have truly been something special. I still enjoyed it for what it was, but god damn the overall premise held so much promise to me.

I hate literally everything. Really, check my post history for a decade of proof. It's pretty much Spelunky and other people's misfortune that I enjoy. I don't know how I ended up in this small group that still loves GTA4. I never felt compelled to beat any GTA games previously and I started on the original GTA on PC, except for GTA4. I couldn't get enough. I even love the car handling. Driving might be my favorite part of that game.

I would strongly suggest that. Very few open world games feel 'alive' enough to do the main story and side missions without getting bored of the world.

Unless you're Vinny Caravella.

I really did deserve a sequel. Damn shame, it could have been EA's answer to Assassin's Creed. Could you imagine a series where each game puts you in control of a fictionalised saboteur somewhere in the world? A Guy Fawkes game set in London would've been amazing.

SF usually post next day. NY record a couple of days and then space them over the week. Avoids over saturation on any one day. They are still hitting two QL every week day and also providing some weekend and Monday content. It is just smart scheduling. I doubt they would hold off posting hot new releases but since they are coveting mostly games that are already out or on early access, makes total sense.

Brad would be fine to lead a "Teach me DOTA" series. You don't need a pro player to teach DOTA (that would make things more confusing tbh). You just need someone with good core knowledge of the game. Brad has enough knowledge of DOTA to teach someone DOTA that knows nothing about DOTA.

DOTA

I could see that. It was dry for me in some places, but it was the first GTA that I finished and I enjoyed some of the more grounded elements. It also helped that I was playing with cheats the entire time. No need to steal cars when I could get that Super GT or the police chopper with a click of the cell phone.

I am not saying it is not smart, but that does not mean I have to like it!

Keyser just wants to open the presents before Christmas Eve..

..which is indeed pointless, compared to the release schedule which makes sense. :p
