I love you both.I don't have a ton of time to kill, but I would be happy to go through the articles and look for any interesting tidbits if you would be so kind as to send those articles my way.
See, I'm not sure all of that would necessarily have occurred without Falcon already being in Smash, though. I mean, F-Zero GX is the only non-anime game to be released since Smash Bros. and the anime itself is "F-Zero: Legend of Falcon" in Japan. The Nintendo Land game doesn't even mention the series - it's "Captain Falcon's Twister Race."
I mean it's all speculation of course since we can't determine what led directly to what, but I think Captain Falcon as a character is SIGNIFICANTLY bigger for Nintendo than the F-Zero series itself.

If Lucina and Robin confuse the mainstream game press and get them to frustratedly complain that Nintendo is running out of characters so they're pulling from poorly-received series like Fire Emblem, I can't imagine what sort of reaction characters from Metroid Prime Hunters would cause.

Regardless of fake/real, that's a nice stage list for the 3DS. And would confirm that 3DS version will be the only one to get Melee stages. Plus, it has Vegas Palace from F-Zero GX. This must happen!

I don't remember them being that down on it, but they weren't too familiar with the characters.

So far, the only (known) franchises that haven't had any stages revealed at all are Kirby, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and F-Zero.
I want to see those stages.

Ah, I'm still listening to that, haven't finished it. I almost always roll my eyes when they're talking about nintendo.
I laughed reading this and plan to look it up. It is one thing to be salty about a particular character, but now they're just acting like brats. Since when was Fire Emblem (particularly Awakening) poorly received?
Well we technically got Halberd for Kirby and Kongo Jungle for DK, but those are classic stages.
I really want to see a new DK stage based on Returns and/or Tropical Freeze.
Is there a Yoshi stage yet?
Hoping for two new Kirby stages on WiiU, one for Return and one for Yarn Kirby because that art style is so good.

Not a bad list - a stage based on Taxi from Game & Wario would be cool, though I'd rather see a stage from a Wario Land game - but Zoness makes me suspicious. Too many people on gaf want Zoness for it to actually be real lol

To clarify, they didn't think FE:A was bad, just that it was unsuccessful, thus pulling from it doesn't make sense.
They are also of the belief that Lucina is the daughter of Marth and Robin.

But it sold the most copies of the entire franchise. I mean, unsuccessful how? Narrative wise? Financial wise? Support from Nintendo?
