I always wondered who watched all those Netflix Original Series shows in one long binge. Apart from asshats on twitter who just want to tweet spoilers 24 hours after they are released :D
 
BTW, does anyone in here want a Destiny (PS4/EU) code. I have some. I dont want to offer them in the other thread, as it seems to be full of juniors and lurkers wanting codes.

Just gonna throw this out there, if either of you guys are playing Saints Row the Third on PC, I made a mod a while back that makes for some really awesome dumb fun.

Video here.

It's the sort of thing where you can just kick on some music and fuck around for hours.

Also, I made a bunch of special weapons and mods for Saints Row IV. You can check out videos of them here if you'd like.

The Saints Row IV weapons are all a lot more creative, but Saints Row the Third are a lot of amped up version of existing guns allowing for stuff like this

I found SR3 to be pretty boring tbh. The story is weird but the missions themselves were pretty 0815, gameplay wise. I liked SR4 a whole lot more but that's cause I'm a sucker for open world superhero games. I even 100% Prototype 2 and that game is NOT good.

I was worried about Vinny leaving but he and Alex are kicking all kinds of butt. They just need to pump out a premium show. Maybe some kind of Random Pc like thing on Thursdays with Vinny and Alex. They gotta finish Bot Colony!

Aiden Pearce suffers from a condition that I like to call "Alex Mercer Disease." AMD is an affliction where the protagonist of your game is an irredeemable jackass who does horrible things throughout the story, causes just as much general mayhem (if not more) than the antagonists, and the game continues to smile and imply, with a straight face, that "he's a heeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrroooooooooo." It's a downright Liefeldian level of characterization.

First mission spoiler:
You're sister BEGS you to stop doing what you are doing and be there for her and her son. It's implied that Aiden hasn't seen them in a year or so. She begs you to move on and instead of being a vigilante asshole be a brother and help her deal with it. And Aiden basically says "Nope!". Fuck him.
Another small spoiler, if you read Patrick's article you already know
At some point your sister gets kidnapped and you have to take care of your nephew. And I though "Oh, this might get interesting" but then you just drop him off at some psychiatrist and are done with him
So yeah, Patrick is spot on. I'm impressed though that he finished the game. I didn't.

I have. Heller had some issues, but he never reaches "TAGGARRRRRRRRRRRT!!! (Why am I angry at this guy again?)" levels like Mercer did. Unless you're referring to
Evil Mutant Emperor Badguy Alex Mercer
, which could be considered a somewhat clever response to the criticisms of his behavior in the first game.

I haven't listened to the podcast, but that Jibo thing is such a bunch of hot bullshit. People see 'MIT' and get a chubby at the idea of somehow skipping ahead a couple decades in robotic technology to something that resembles a scifi film.

The final product (if it ever materialises) will be such a compromise it'll make the Ouya look like a success story in comparison. As if thousands of developers are going to rush to build complex apps for a platform used by one 'robot'. It'll take pictures (after shouting at it 5 times) and maybe make a Skype call if you're lucky.

My initial reaction was I wanted one of those - and I feel like I would happily give €400 for something that works exactly like it does in the video.

No way I give that money for just the promise of something that works like that.

Will was great in the podcast. A good mix of snarky and fanboy mixed into one.

Yup. And what has this amazing MIT 'Social Robotics' expert got to show so far?
At least, that’s the promise. Jibo isn’t set for release until late next year, so many of the features aren’t in a usable form yet. As you can see in the video of our demo above, the current iteration can dance and introduce itself and that’s about it.

18 months (which may as well be 5 minutes in the world of robotics R&D) to turn it into a miracle machine with $500k (and counting) of Indiegogo money. Can't believe people actually backed this thing. Want to go in on a crowdfunding scam together? $1m target for a flying carpet? Ready by 2016. We split the cash and run, living out our days on a Panama beach.

I would hope they ripped the shit out of it on the Tested podcast, but knowing Will and Norm, maybe not. Probably got hung up on the 'maker' aspect.

This is how I've been playing it with hacking and knockouts only if possible. They really do seem to have designed the game to be a shooter though.

Its more fun this way i think.

The sequel would benefit from an "ID tagged weapons" mechanic so that you can't just shoot everything and very limited ammo for your gun.

Also, I know people hate Tested now, but they went to CAX this year and talked a bit about pinball machines.

Since Vinny and Patrick moved, I guess there's no one left at GB who is really interested in buying old arcade machines now. No more CAX stories about hustling for arcade deals. :(
 
Ace Team doesn't get enough love. Rock of Ages was really fun and silly, and Abyss Odyssey looks cool too. That studio just seems really creative and unique.
