LUCINA BOOTS APPRECIATION POST
The hype is real, and it's all thanks to the boots.
First a picture you've all seen before:
Look at these boots. There's something about them I find fascinating.
Maybe it's how the heel-hugging back-flap on each shoe rises like a majestic collar sheltering her delicate ankles, and how the deep split on each side baffles the mind with its paradoxical ability to avoid slippage... suggesting, perhaps, that the whole ensemble is one and the same. Then you have the stitches on each shin, which rise from the back to the front in two arcing lines that guide the eye to the well-sculpted kneecaps and fine embroidery on the white slips at the top. From there the linework continues beyond the boots, along the padded sweater-y pants. It's poetry... Poetry in
pants.
Now, let's appreciate the boots on a pic-by-pic basis:
In this exhibit, we see Lucina with legs splayed, giving us a side view of her right leg and a front view of her left leg and allowing us to appreciate the tactile solidity that her sturdy boots afford her, while also conveying the aerodynamic posturing made possible by their sleekness. One can imagine the crisp taste of grass stains and early morning dew on her boots, accrued from pounding the turf up and down Windy Hills.
In this exhibit, we see Zelda's Phantom Guardian dazzled by the stunning linework on Lucina's boots, which accentuate the sharp appearance of her legs as they cut through the air with the fury -- and grace -- of impressive fashion sense and immaculate fit. One can practically feel the grit beneath their fingertips as they trace the dust compacted into each boot's heel from the floor of the Coliseum.
In this exhibit, we have three breathtaking beauties: Palutena, Lucina, and Lucina's boots. Note how Lucina's boots are the most glorious of the three, and how from this angle one can better appreciate the sturdy white folds atop each boot, which appear like flower petals blossoming from the shapely kneecaps. One can hear the crisp snap of the folds as they ripple in the winds over Skyloft, their sound evoking that of a flag flown patriotically over one's homeland.
I'd go on, but... *sniff* I need a moment.
