Games you remember, names you don't

I remember something from my childhood, a game for PC - DOS era with black and white color, we play as a Knight or something. the gameplay is point/click (or maybe arrow keys?) or puzzle solving just like current Broken Sword but in forest/castle.

anyone remember something like this? :)
sadly "black and white" and "forest" is the only thing I sure/remember

King's Quest?

There was an NES (I think) action game where there were lots of demonic looking tentacle monsters and crazy bloody (?) violence. I remember there was lots of red, brown, and black. There were commercials for it on TV in the late 80's or early 90s. I can't remember what it was called.
Somehow I doubt an NES game would be particularly violent... :P Maybe an SMS or Megadrive game? Do you have more details because "tentacle monsters, violence, and brown" is kind of vague... XD

That's it!

Was that game any good? I'm tempted to play it.

MDK2 is one of my favorite games ever. So yes. Play it.

Are you thinking of Splatterhouse for the TurboGrafx-16?

If it was NES, maybe... Monster Party?

Nah, not those two. I can't really remember anything else about it, but I think I'll recognize it if I ever see it again.

I did some digging, Abadox? This is the only picture I can find of the commercial, lol

Usually I end up finding them after hard research. There's one I can't quite place though. It was a Mickey Mouse game on NES. I remember playing it and it had a lot of stuff to do - one in particular I think was either racing or bumper cars of some sort. I want to say it was some kind of downhill race but it was a blast overall.

There was a demo I remember playing on a PS1 Jampack volume, it was a Japanese import game, I don't remember a ton about it beyond that.

Answering my own question here lol, it was Tail Concerto I believe after I did a bit of research.

I need to play it again to remember if that was it or not.

This game's been plaguing my memory for the last year or so. An NES game.

MIlitary shooter. I don't remember too much about it beyond two separate mechanics. Levels varied between top-down multi-direction shooter and 2D over the shoulder fire-from-cover game.

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of this thing.

I think i remember a PS1 racing game where one of the playable character where two mafia penguin bros...can't remember anything else other than i had fun with it.

Motor Toon Grand Prix. Made by polyphony digital and can be seen as kind of a precursor to Gran Turismo.

I remember when I was about 7 playing an arcade game at this little shop that was like 20 feet from my house. I don't know why I can't recall the title considering I played it several times back then at this shop that had one arcade machine that they'd periodically change every 2-3 months (other games I remember them having were WWF Wrestlefest, Sunset Riders), but I've wanted to know what it was for years. I even got up to the final boss which was quite the feat for me back then on an arcade game.

It was a sidescrolling shooter somewhat similar to Megaman/Contra but probably a bit easier. I think the character you played as may have been somewhat reminiscent of an Alex Kidd type but with guns/various weapons.

I really can't remember much more than that as it was 1994. Based on the other games I remember them having there, I'd guess that the game would have been at least a few years old by the time it was in that shop. I thought maybe it started with B but really I have no idea. Sorry for lack of useful info/details.

Top Hunter?

Super C has top down sections, Contra has '3rd person'ish sections. Not one of those?

We got our first computer around 2000 and it came with 2 games. The first one was a game I believe was called Rage: Incoming. The only thing that I can find on this game is like one youtube video and the second was a motocross game that I can't remember the name of. Does anyone remember these dumb pack in games or have an idea of what they might be?

The first game is just Incoming. Rage Software is the developer. The second one might be one of the Motocross Madness games.

If it's any help then I remember incoming being part of a bundle with certain graphics cards back in the day so a search for bundles might help?

Help me out GAF .

Game was on PC
Shooter ala doom style ( may be in 3d , not sure)
One boss I remember you had to kill by sucking him into a fan . boss was this huge cyber demon like thing.
Had cheats where you typed in 'invisibility' or 'invulnerability'

Edit: another thing I remembered about the boss was that you had to avoid him. Fight takes place in a looped corridor ( I think ) and the corridor had smaller openings to creep and avoid boss from.

That would be Chasm: The Rift.

A Sega Genesis game where you're like a wizard and you have to escape a tower or dungeon. The game has sort of an x-com camera style, and there were elaborate death animations like Out of this World.

A sidescrolling game for SNES where you played like a ninja or samurai or something and some of the enemies were riding robotic fish looking things that you could ride as well if you killed them.

I remember a ghost game that I played on PC in the late 90s when I was super young. It was set in a fancy old time mansion, and there were fancy old time ghosts floating around. It took place at night, but there may have been more daytimes. I don't really know since I only played it for an hour. It might have been a demo too. Vague description really, but that is all I recall. I wouldn't be shocked if no one gets this.

Old PC game that took place in space. You'd walk side-to-side on each screen, with the background looking all apocalyptic. I remember purple being a prominent color. Main character was some white guy with brown hair I think.

Is that a... female ninja who is actually properly attired for the job instead of wearing a bullshit skimpy outfit? Oh, be still my heart.

She's a robot, and when you take damage the robots lose clothing, showing the metal body underneath (yeah, no fake skin, just a metal body). So you're sort of right, and sort of wrong... but at least the male robots you can play as also have the clothing damage too, so it's not only her!

The Ninja Warriors (Again) for SNES is a fun game, but it is disappointing that it's single player only. The game has much better gameplay and level designs than the original Ninja Warriors game, but that game has two player co-op. Oddly, in the original game the male and female robot ninjas look pretty much the same when clothed, but after taking some damage and losing the shirt, the 'female' robot has a different shaped torso from the male one. As you can see in that picture, in the SNES game they actually made the female ninja look different this time. (Oh, despite that, the female robot ninja is the default player 1 in both games.)

Im gonna give this a try. there was a game I use to play as a kid... So I would probably say for nintendo or super nintendo.. Can't remember. It was a role playing game slash racing game. It had a map and you would have to race people along the map.. The main character was a young boy in his teens, and he would have stops along the way in which he met people and was able to upgrade his car. Thats all I could remember but I do remember playing it and enjoying it. But for the life of me, I can't remember it. Almost as if I thought it all up.... Hope someone can figure this one out...

Some google fu yielded this title for the SNES:

Zero-4 Champ RR

I've never heard of it, maybe it wasn't localized in NA?
Maybe it was and it was just kind of obscure?

I have my own, someone over in SteamGAF is talking about a game and now I want to know what it is:

GAFer Anustart says this:
"I do believe they were in a desert, or brown area. Of course that describes 99% of last gen games ba dum, tiss

For real, no gun on screen, circle reticule, desert or desert-ish level with some ruins of buildings."

He also thought it was on xbox, maybe xbox 360?

Operation Wolf or Cabal? They don't have overhead sections though... It's pretty easy to get these mixed up with others games of the time (like Commando) if your memory is playing tricks.

Sounds like 7th Guest or 11th Hour

Another World?

I use to play this game on the original Game Boy. You were in a spacesuit on a space station, and had to often grab air tanks to refill your air supply, on these Q-Bert-esque puzzle hill things. Haven't been able to remember the name of this game for years.

Altered Space

Literally google'd "isometric space game gameboy" and it was the first hit. If you like that sort of game you'd probably also like Monster Max (Gameboy), Solstice (NES), and Equinox (SNES).

Even Neogaf can't find them :,(

Not ringing a bell. I can't think of any games that looked like Parappa that weren't Parappa other than Um Jammer Lammy. The only other games that might fit this description is Bust-a-Move (aka Bust-a-Groove) or Gitaroo Man (you do fight a Bee).
The second game, an RPG, there are so many to choose from... dressed in green... maybe Tales of Eternia?
The last one, a snowboarding type game... my advice would be to look up all the snowboarding games on the system (there's probably what, less than 20 total?) and go through them one by one until you find it. Unless you're thinking of Jet Moto?

That's tricky, do you mean no gun fighting at all? In that case maybe Journey?
If it's a shooter there's a third person shooter called Spec Ops: The Line that takes place in a ruined Dubai.

This reminds me of Final Lap Twin for the TG16, actually.

There's this game I played on pc when I was younger but for the life of me cannot remember the name.

The main character had a sword and u fought these animals that looked human. It was a scary game, I think the first scary game I ever played. It had weird graphics as well.

Don't think I can help with this one, but some extra detail might help others - during which time period were you a youngster? Was it 2d or 3d? Side scrolling or screen flip? etc
