Maybe there will be a different map for outer planets? Upgraded ships to get there or something?

Just saw this on the Destiny wiki

" Even though it has not been seen on the in-game Star Chart, Jupiter is on the Star Chart availible within the Limited Edition and the Ghost Editions of Destiny"

I don't get this at all. Are they saying standard editions have no access to these planets.

Why are kills worth more points than captures in control? As it stands, there's no reason to capture areas; you'd be better off just camping them and killing anyone who comes near.

Ah, could be that they're part of the expansion packs that are included with the LE and GE. Guess we won't know until the time comes.

Bungie said each planet is the size of all of Halo: Reach, so I think there should be enough content on those 5 planets.

hmm i hope so. Yet i've gotten so much playtime out of a level capped earth/old russia; i don't think i can complain about 5 planets.

Maybe it is the expansion planet, but seeing as it is a gas giant... erm...

Is all the faction quartermaster gear supposed to be PVP gear? I ask because they're all bought with Crucible marks. What exactly makes it PVP gear and not raiding gear? Or is it all purpose gear? Does Crucible also give faction rep or do PVPers have to grind Patrol quests to buy their gear? Seems weird to me.

If, for any reason, you're interested in what pounding nails through your scrotum feels like, but are too afraid to try, play PVP in Destiny. Pretty close approximation.

PvE is awesome though.

Or they just haven't shown it in game and the star chart (physical thing) included in the LE shows it, thus proving that it may in fact be in game?

lol I don't see what does not make sense here.

Turrets are the way to go to take out interceptors easily. Great range and line of sight. But nothing more satisfying than taking one out with titan smash <3 Titan class

Which class is the best then?

Of course they all have their strengths and unique abilities but overall which one do we feel outperforms the others?

I've levelled up my Titan to level 8 and fancy having a mess around with the Warlock now. The Hunter doesn't really appeal to me but should I give it a shot?

wait where is this from? Cause now I'm curious what the top part is and what the vanguard thing is.

It was very briefly shown in the Jason Jones narrated gameplay experience trailer, around here: http://youtu.be/LIxxsw7TNd4?t=3m45s

Also gave a very brief look at the venus map:

I think I have pretty much had my fill. Spent about 15 hours I would say with the PvE and 1 match of PVP. About all I can stand of PVP these days not named Planetside, Unreal Tournament or Team Fortress 2.

I don't have many negative things to say at all man. Really I am incredibly impressed with the whole PVE experience. From the way equipment is handled and how building a suit that caters to your current ideas of how to play your character is a reality and not just something said on the back of the box and then forgotten once the game starts. You really truly can build a character around melee attacks or your actions giving you grenades far more often or being able to use your special ability far more often. Then it goes even deeper then that by giving each uncommon weapon an unlockable mod like finding ammo more often for the weapon, or kills with the weapon enhancing reload times, etc etc

Looking at future equipment and the skill tree and the subclasses, you could seriously create dozens of styles of character for each of the 3 classes.

The content itself was satisfying for more as well. The opening mission was fun, the voice acting is well done and the subsequent missions thereafter were all fun and quite challenging on Hard difficulty.

I would go deeper but I'm writing this on a phone and it is annoying as fuck lol. But I'm impressed and sold and can't wait for September

I didn't know the LE and GE had inclusive expansion packs. I just thought you got a daft plastic toy. Not long anyway, only 5 weeks to wait.

Pretty sure this is referring to the physical "Antique Star Chart" that comes in the box for these editions, and has no bearing on the in-game "Star Chart/World Map".

Made it to the end of the strike mission last night, pretty fun fight for the end of the mission though.

I wish they would give you an option at the end the mission to extend the time before you go back to the ship. I was looking around the boss room after we killed him and saw a chest but I couldn't reach it before the timer expired.

I wish there was a better visual indicator for loot as well, it's really easy to miss during frantic firefights.

Those editions come with a physical copy of the star chart, which shows Jupiter.

The thing with the PvP is that it's not balanced towards you playing by yourself, like most Bungie games. Tanks are balanced in that they often need teamwork to disable when those supers or grenades aren't working. So I would be in communication with my teammate in a turret at alpha, and then I lure the tank to him. Or while one of my teammates is being a decoy (using cover effectively), I can light the driver up from the flank.

A lot of people when they encounter these tanks try jumping around and gliding away. This is a horrible idea. The tank is really good at picking people out of the air. You need to be moving fast towards cover( which there is a lot of on the moon) and not jumping around in the middle of an open field( which there is also a lot of). So many people just try bunny jumping directly towards the interceptor, which never works. You have to either coordinate with your team, make sure you have your super or turret, or run the fuck away. That last point is key-if you have nothing to kill the tank with, run until you do. Get to the other side of the map. Don't throw yourself against it giving the team kills. Here's one tip for pikes-use those caves on the edges of the map to flank the tanks.

On the subject of weapons- I feel that people should understand what their weapon is good for. Auto rifle will tear you apart in close quarters, but the scout rifle will do just the same at range, if not more so. If you're a good aim, you can nail people in 3 scout rifle shots. In my experience, I have not found a good enough pulse rifle to use, and I have almost never been killed by them. You can do good with them, but I'd avoid them. Same with handcannon. Hopefully that will change come release, but I have been fine with my scout rifle at range and my shotgun for close quarters Control Point assaults. Vice versa when I use an autorifle(which I hardly ever do). Autorifle for close quarters and sniper for long range. Ultimately-know your range and don't out yourself in a position where you can be outclassed.

I feel like the PvP does indeed feel a bit unbalanced when playing by yourself with randoms because the games systems are so built around teamwork and intel. When you have a team of six calling out the locations of the enemies and tanks and turrets, the game becomes a bit simpler. Just knowing where the enemy is and what weapons they have equipped is awesome.

TLDR: Get as big of a group as you can and stop playing PvP by yourself. Oh, and if you're not really having fun, that's ok too. Don't force it. Luckily Destiny has some great PvE as well.

I agree with a lot of your post, which emphasizes my sadness at the lack of mic chat on the PS4. Hopefully that'll change, but I doubt it. Also, I switched from a scout to a pulse and have instantly gotten the upper hand in 1v1 situations that are close ranged. I liken it to the DMR or BR in Halo, it's not that one is obviously better than the other, you just have to know how to master them. I've found (especially against ARs) the pulse helps me win in closer combat. From a distance, I still love my sniping.

Well all of the weapons in general MP are balanced to have the same overall set of stats....so that is a skill thing on your part. Team up with some Gaffers, the game works best in teams.

Well that depends, certain weapons have way better stats , the balancing only comes in the attack so lower leveled players can injure higher leveled ones (from what I've read). But some guns at higher levels have great unlocks (faster reload, better ADS, etc) that make them better than a level 2 gun. At least from my experience.

I don't even understand how Jupiter or Saturn would be playable, they're gas giants.

Traveler made it habitable. The Darkness or whatever we're fighting ruined everything.

Guardian, are you a bad enough dude/dudette to rescue Jupiter?*

*Pre-order now for bonus Great Red Spot mission. 120 minutes of gameplay.

As much as I like the Hunter class, I may swtich to Titan for retail release. Maybe that class will give me a chance in PvP.

Which is weird because everyone has the shitty included headset.
