Since Sakurai always link the Ice Climbers with Balloon Fight (music in their level in Melee, the fish in the Brawl stage), I'd love if he gave them a costume where they're dressed like the Balloon Fighter.
Brawl's IC stage throwing in the Balloon Fight fish makes me half-expect a sort of 'NES Melody' stage for the Wii U version that combines a whole ton of different otherwise un-repped games like Balloon Fight/Mach Rider/Excitebike/etc.

Hopefully with a proper HD makeover rather than the straight pixel rips we normally get.

I'm probably alone in this but I actually really enjoy the big stages. The "chase" can be pretty exciting.

My friends and I used to play a ton of Hyrule Temple in Melee. Probably our most played stage outside of Battlefield / FD.

You're not, temple is one of the best stages in the series.

As big as Temple is, it is no where near on the level of huge and bad as New Pork City was and Palutena Temple looks to be. Those levels look like they were made for 8 people.

As long as the stage isn't too big/empty. New pork city would have been fine size wise if it hadn't been a giant U shape. Hyrule temple worked a lot better because it was basically an I shape (with the too and bottom lines) and you could quickly get across the map if need be.

Big stages are great, they just need to be designed well

A random realization struck me ... No launch title on a new Nintendo console would excite me more than a full fledged out installment in the Smash Bros series. A lá Melee back when the Gamecube launched, you know?

And yet, were that to happen with Wii U's sucessor, we'd likely be deprived from Sakurai's more-than-a-year daily drip feed of information. Which in turn would squish all of the potential speculation, all of the burst of hype, the sleepless nights, Japan time, the trolling, Ridley GIFs, the memes created within this community...We'd have the game outright, without enough time for ten official threads worth of hyping up and counting. And in my book, that would be a disgrace.

Am I glad things are the way they are.

See? See? Real glad for how things are.
Would pay good money to buy my cousin the Falcon ones.

quick, someone dig through random Fire Emblem stuff and find out how long Marth's Falchion, Lucina's Parallel Falchion, and Ragnell are in length

lol

In case anyone was up for some more shenanigans from the Smashboards "leaker", here are some of his new claims:

Okay then, before I get started, I just would like to let everyone know that my source will be going out of town on Tuesday to address a Family Crisis, he told me that he expects to be back on Saturday, until then this will probably be the last email I receive from him until he returns. I will do my best to stop by and take note of any questions that are asked. Once this is posted I will have to leave immediately, but I will stop by early tomorrow in order to answer questions.

Here is the contents of the latest email:

Stickers have been removed entirely. In their place for local play is custom gear, this information has already been officially released however, so rather than go over it all again, I would like to direct you all to the link below:
http://www.smashbros.com/us/howto/entry2.html

Ness and Lucas will both return, with Lucas's moves being significantly altered to avoid being a Ness clone

There is a new earthbound stage based on the Final Boss chamber, Giygas is a stage boss there.

Furthermore, additional information about Sceptile and K. Rool's play styles:

Sceptile:

His neutral B is leach seed, in which he flings a small seed quickly as a Projectile towards either the right or left depending on where he is facing, foes it hits will become wrapped in the seeds roots, "Sapping" their hp and paralyzing them momentarily. The animations and effects of this attack where based more off of the Leech Seed in the Anime rather than the Games.

His Up special is Pursuit, it functions similarly to Lucario's extremespeed, although it lacks the moment to start that extremespeed had. Used alone it goes slightly less than Lucario's up special in brawl, but true to the source materials nature, hitting other players while using this attack increases the duration that it lasts, and its recovery capabilities. At the end of the attack is a meteor type attack.

His side special is Leaf Blade, in which he lunges towards wherever he is facing with a powerful slash.

His down special is Mega drain, in which opponents within the range of the attack in the direction that Sceptile is facing have damage Delt, and half that damage healed on Sceptile.

Energy ball is used in his Up and Side smashes, in which they ball of energy grows as he charges, and then is shot when the smash is ready/released a short distance.

King K. Rool is modeled with a moveset based primarily on his Donkey Kong Country appearance:

His standard special is the K. Rool Cannon. It is a chargeable attack, much like Diddy Kongs peanut gun, the longer the cannon is charged, the faster, farther and more powerful the cannonball is, as well as changing its trajectory from an initial curved path to a straight shot, overcharging the cannon results in the cannon exploding, not only damaging K. Rool but sending him backwards.

His Side Special is his Crownerang, based on his attack in DKC, in which he throws his crown in whatever direction he faces, damaging foes that the Crown touches, should the crown not make contact with another foe, it turns around and returns to K. Rool.

His Down Special is his Captains Stomp, modeled after his attack in DKC, in this iteration he leaps forward with a surprisingly high trajectory and lands with a massive Stomp. Should a foe be caught where he lands it will deal 45% max, making it one of the most powerful attacks in the game.

His up special is the Barrel Rider, in which he enters a barrel like those seen in most DKC games, grants the player a moment to aim as it charges, finally shooting him whatever direction the barrel faces.

Fake or not, I like the idea of the EarthBound stage being based off the Devil's Machine. However, that seems a little... Dark, to say the least. Saturn Valley still seems like the best choice.

I think it'd be awesome if they put an explosion in this game when this happens. Kind of as an inside joke.
I think it'd be awesome if it ripped open a hole in space-time and you could see through it to another timeline where Xeno-GAF is complaining, "Really, another F-Zero? I'm sick of annualized franchises!"

I like how being out of town prevents his source from emailing him information he already knows.
Problem is one of his buddies have been eyeing the thread the entire day. I've caught him under the "Users Viewing Thread" banner. Think a couple people (or maybe one person) are running this sham. Can't say anything without being bludgeoned by the people who want to believe it's real.

wait what are we even talking about o.O

New Pork City's problem is a lack of platforms. Most of it was empty space.

Palutena's Temple on the other hand has a huge amount of platforms, but it is so big. It could go Rainbow Cruise style scroller and it wouldn't be out of place lol.

RIP those with a small TV and/or TVs placed far away from seating.
