Are these actual screens from the game? They look like absolute garbage. Like they're either unfinished or from some kids DeviantArt page.

Well, first of all, there's no "theme" to the colors or designs. The text is bland and uninspired. The framing is awkward. The colors don't go well together. I love blue and orange, but blue text on an orange background is a horrible choice.

And before you quote my avatar, orange and blue can go well together, but text should have some kind of layering effect or greater contrast between the two colors.
 
Anyone in Tokyo planning on lining up for the Japanese release? I'm planning on preordering tomorrow, but I'm not sure where yet. Just seven weeks left!

The normal bimonthly Direct has to come out next month as well, though, since Bayo 2 and Captain Toad still don't have specific release dates.

August for bimonthly direct, september for smash launch direct a week before the Japanese release

We, Team BEStrangeFlavor, made BaraBariBall. We described the game like this:

BaraBariBall is the sports fighting game that mixes a bunch of Smash Brothers, a chunk of Street Fighter, a dash of Marvel, a dollop of Lethal League and a bit of Dragon Ball Z. In other words, it’s familiar but unlike anything you’ve played before!

Maybe you shouldn't' direct your comment at "fans." You'r really talking to devs and designers. Sure you can be a dev and a fan. But for the kind of thing you're looking for (e.g. creating unique games from the ground up), you NEED devs/designers. It's a bonus if they're fans.
 
BariBariBall is rad. And yes, it stinks of Smash. (In a good way.) Nice work, KirbyKid.

There's also Rivals of Aether, a Smash-style fighter with 2D sprite art. It's being made by one of the designers on Killer Instinct Season One, and the composer of Tower of Heaven. It looks rad as all hell.

Hopefully more people follow the lead and make more Smash-style fighters, because yes, the formula is ripe for exploration and experimentation.

So, lets take a look at this image again. Two of the four trophy hints have been revealed. Pseudo Palutena was Palutena and the Tiki trophy was for Robin and Lucina.

It was widely speculated that the Tiki throphy was for Chrom, but it should be noted that Chrom doesn't have a support tree with Tiki, but Robin and Lucina does. So Sakurai was telling us in his own way to not expect Chrom way back in April!

You know who else has a support with Tiki? Morgan, which I hope will be an alt for Robin, so I can have the entire family fighting together.

Anyway, I think at this point, its a given that Fi is referencing a character specifically from Skyward Sword, and its either Ghriham, who is her
counterpoint
or Demise who she was
created to kill.
But that has already been speculated already.

However, King Kihunter specifically says Metroid Series, so.... I'm not guessing Ridley. Instead, I think Dark Samus has been elevated from an assist trophy to a clone character in her own right. Yes, I realize that she was shown to be an assist character in the April ND, but that's my pick.

Also, I really didn't want to say Ridley again.

it's ridleyculous how much demand there is for ridley
 
For the Skyward Sword rep, I think Impa as a Sheik clone has a chance. I'd personally prefer Debbie the Fabulous Ghirahim, but Impa is a lot more relevant to the series as a whole.

For Metroid, Ridley obviously. Dark Samus would be the second best choice for a new Metroid rep, but she's already an assist trophy unfortunately.

I would love to play as Dark Samus, and she totally deserves a spot, too. She was the antagonist of 2 great games, and had a cameo in the first of that trilogy. As far as Ghirahim and Demise go, I don't care for either character specifically. I would much rather have Vaati.

Morgan's standard outfit is the same as Robin's. There's no way they'd make a head swap without any other differences. It'd be like expecting an Awakening alt for Marth. It'd look way too close to Lucina, so there's no way it's getting added.

With Gamestop and Toys R' Us saying November 21, I am more inclined to believe it. I bet we will get a Smash Direct showing Shulk with the release date in September.
 
There isn't really any character from Skyward Sword that I'd go crazy over. Ghirahim might be fun though.

Classic Ganon is still my pick for Zelda newcomer. Ravio could be a great WTF pick if Sakurai implemented a good gimmick for him.
 
Looks like the Pokemon anime this time took something from Smash. Froakie uses a water ninjato like Greninja in an upcoming episode. Ash wants Hawlucha and Froakie to sync up since the two aren't cooperating.
