We're outpacing the E3 and Smash Direct threads. O.O To be fair, those generally got split between threads though. Still, I'm surprised this thread is a ahead. I guess it's from generally good pics of the day and being really close tor release.
And just for the sake of it, I made a chart with some of that info. I left out thread 10 since it's not complete yet though.

That's from a batch of old avatars I made when we got our first official renders. Those are saved on a cloud drive (for some reason). The Palutena avatar I've been sporting since E3 isn't.
So until I get home you'll have to bear with this Marth avatar instead. I'll be able to change my avatar in pretty much exactly 169 minutes. Until then...deal with it

As someone who is pretty indifferent about Ridley, even I find it suspicious that Sakurai only ever showed his shadow. If he's just a boss, why all the mystery? Sakurai has shown that he's willing to tease characters without confirming them a la Game and Watch, so there's precedent.

I understand this reason and I don't think it's without merit, but my problem with it is that a lot of Ridley supporters use it as evidence when it's not. I can't say I know why, but concluding that he must be saving him for an unexpected character reveal is not the only thing you can or should conclude from his teasing.

For the most part, it's based on huge assumptions and that Sakurai is a troll. Almost conspiracy-level tier. For example, look at this.

Interesting that it's using the Assault Arwing designs despite the fact that we've already seen that Fox uses the N64 Arwing design for his entrance
So that's an interesting bit of incongruity.
If the stage is set across the back of the ship like Sector Z/Corneria one thing to note that will make it very different from those stages is the fact that the Star Fox Assault Great Fox design lacks the long tail section, which is a little hard to make out in today's screenshot.
The jets come right out the back:
So that's different.
They seemingly reduced the thruster effect on the back, so there might still be some walkable area there, just reduced compared to the others. The central fin also seems to be smaller too, likely to make movement easier.

Actually, Fortuna was in Star Fox for the SNES. Fichina was introduced in SF64.

There are tons of reason's we're outpacing the other threads.
1. smash direct was split between 2 threads.
2. E3 had 'gematsu leak' characters and not much else that was surprising, also somewhat split between threads
3. 'Robin Monday' gave us unpredictable content reveals, dismissing the gematsu leak, giving us lucina as our first full-fledged clone newcomer, AND the rayman trophy, sparking a debate about ubisoft's inclusion. Robin's moveset was also a complete mystery (where does levin sword go, how do you get tomes back, etc) -but discussion about that died by wed.
4. Captain falcon! Captain falcon gifs! Another 'original 4 unlockable' revealed before launch. Potential for other 'unannounced veterans' to be revealed in future newcomer trailers.
4. We're super close to launch! Tons of events coming up soon, like comiccon and the UK thing.

We have about ~38 more pics of the day. I hope 11 of them are vets. But I'm guessing we'll get 3 or 4 of those and just unlock the rest when we play.
I wonder how potd will be after the 3DS release. Will we keep getting it? (Probably.) Will it focus on Wii U specific features/stages I wonder, or just keep showing off characters and items that maybe we already know about? Maybe it will even focus sometimes on 3DS user submitted content. I probably won't care because I'll be playing the game.
