I wanted more stage reveals but not like this, reusing a stage for a series that has potential for many ideas is one thing, the return of the yellow devil and his mass match obstruction is another.

At least give us Dr. Wily in a giant skeleton mech or something, E3 made Yellow Devil out to be a huge pain in the ass.

Hope the inevitable Wario Ware Inc. stage successor in SSB4 doesn't have a boss hazard.

Wario Ware bosses can be so unorthodox you've actually intrigued me now, maybe the pendulum like punching bag from the very first set of games could be a stage mechanic, smash it into your foes!

I have never seen that much hate on GAF for a game series

I just went back and played 2 hours of Brawl last night, since it had been years and years and I'm feeling that Smash hype at the moment. It reminded me that I actually have no idea what most people thought about Brawl in general. I've never really seen it discussed online, because the discussion always becomes 'tourney players who love melee vs casuals', which is a conversation I have no interest in, so I don't read it or take part.

I'm a strictly casual player who plays Smash Bros as a party game with friends, and I'd wager most people are. So what did most people make of Brawl? Because honestly, going back to it reminded me that it was just a little disappointing for me.

It's a little bit slow, the visuals are muddy, and there are a TON of bad stages. The newcomers did really little for me in comparison with the newcomers in Melee. Lucario instead of someone like Tetra? Really?

Was there ever a consensus about Brawl? My impression is that people love it, but like I say I've never really talked it out online. Anyway Melee -> 64 -> Brawl for me.

I agree with your order. I don't dislike brawl, I just think the others are better.

This PotD means Sonic's 3DS stage could very well be Windy Hill, maybe at a different time of day (see Zone 2, sunset to night). Then again, Pac-Man got unique stages for each version, so Sonic has a 50/50 chance. My choices, either Frozen Factory, Sky Road, Silent Forest, Planet Wisp, Starlight Carnival, Tropical Resort, Chemical Plant, Casino Night (or Frozen Factory Zone 3), or Sky Sanctuary.

As for Takamaru, as I've said before, I've given up hope for him getting in beyond DLC, & have resigned myself to only getting Shulk & a Rhythm Heaven character as the remaining newcomers. Would I be cool with Takamaru getting in, sure, but at this point, I just don't see it happening.

I'm a strong supporter of Chemical Plant Zone. Those colors would look beautiful!

If we're going with the renders, that would seem to be the case, but I'm not sure if it would be done, considering it'd share the same price as any of the single-character figures. I'd like both Robins, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Amiibo only used the male one.

I hadn't noticed that particular detail, but overall, Sakurai's understandably tried to cram in as much of Uprising as possible into Pit and Palutena's movesets. I wonder if working on that game was one of the reasons behind the newcomers of SSB4 being so referential to their source material, as well as the changes to veterans such as DK's roll and Link's dash attack?

Pic of the day. In general, there are completely different stages in the 3DS and Wii U version, but we made Wily Castle and the special boxing ring available for both versions! We didn't forget the Yellow Devil either. There may be some small differences in the stages, such as the 3DS stage appearing to be during daylight hours.

Everytime I see 3DS screenshots it makes me think I should have a 3DS XL for this game when it comes out instead of the regular 3DS I have now.

An additional warning: The 3DS is unfortunately region locked, so even importing a physical copy won't work. The community has initiated several offensives (including this one on GAF), but Nintendo seems to ignore them while not giving a rational explanation why they region-lock their devices.
