Nintendo Downloads - July 2014

I kept waiting for the right time to really savour it. Guess some years passed in the meantime. >_>

<_>

Did you enjoy the first one? The second one is just as good and plenty different. I think it's good that more time has passed actually so any similarities between the two can feel less prominent. It's really superb, though, and I hope you'll get to play it soon when you next are craving a good 3D platformer.

I'll try and get around to it till the end of the year, I promise.

I absolutely played and adored the first one, of course, I'm not a monster!

I had no idea that Genius Sonority was working on another Denpa Man game, this time F2P.

I wish Nintendo would let them try their hand at another Pokémon spin-off RPG.

It's a shame people are so insistent on ruining this for new players.
I've seen it here countless times whenever someone is on their first run through.
I say that as it was a big surprise for me when I first played it and I would've hated to know about the extra stuff in advance.

Yeah, this is probably the best kept secret in the universe. So sorry for spoiling, my man Coolasj

I think Genius Sonority prefers to work on the Denpa Men series. They have a lot more freedom with it and it isn't as costly. They did make Pokemon Typing and Pokemon Battle Trozei so they are prohibited from the Pokemon IP. They also might be too small for developing a serious console game.

Glad Pokemon Link is on sale, but goddamn why won't they ever put HarmoKnight on sale too? Demo was incredibly addicting, so good. I'm not saying it's not worth the OG asking price but my backlog is too big to justify that

They're also making annual installments of Denpa Men. For all we do to complain online that no one wants a Madden or Call of Duty every year, does anyone really want a Denpa Men game every year? This is truly the one series today that I just don't understand the demand for.

There have been 3 Denpa Men games.

Yes, they have come in successive years, and 3 is enough to "establish a pattern," but it's not like they've been doing it for the past 20 years or something. Using 3 games in 3 years, there are tons of series which would, by that definition, do "annual installments."

Also, regarding the Mario Galaxy/Sunshine comments:

Considering my post was in reply to someone saying they haven't enjoyed a Mario game for the past 10 years, I think it's relevent for me to say that I loved Super Mario 3D Land despite not caring for those particular games.

As far as age, I'm 31, although don't really see why it matters.

Thanks for the quick answers, guys. Sadly, that would mean I'd have to delete either SMT Soul Hackers or Pokemon X off my SD card, as those two alone pretty much filled the SD card. Will have to take some maneuvering.

Soul Hackers as its save isn't locked. Just buy a bigger SD card, we're talking about a few bucks here.

There's a fourth coming within a year, so make that four within four years. And unlike, say, Nintendo turning out a bunch of Mario games in the series' prime, is anyone beating down someone's door for another Denpa Men game?

Yes!

One of my favorites. I hope there's no issue with the upgrade discount, because I want to just into this one right away when I get home. This'll be really nice with the save states.
EDIT: Thought it was Wii U. Still cool!

What are some good 4P local multiplayer games available for DL on Wii U?

Do you mean like games you can't buy at retail? Absolute best 4P local MP experience is Nintendo Land. Mario Kart 8 is fun too.

Check out Spin the Bottle when it comes to DL exclusives.

OH YES! Save States will save me on this one for sure. I think I got past the water level and couldn't make it further. I have a vague memory of a crab boss that shot bubbles....yet I could not use the bomb+pause trick.

Yeah sorry. I would take VC or just DL games. Sorry if it's a bit OT but thought there'd be a lot of experts here.

NL and MK8 indeed are awesome. :)

Ufouria, you say?

Maybe we can get a special guest appearance by Victor Ireland.
Then everyone can badger him for Suikoden II.

By the way, Ufouria is amazing. Get this if you like Metroid like games, especially. I had my hopes set for Blaster Master on Wii U, but this is even better.

So it's going to be Sunsoft week this Thursday?

I'm not complaining!
In fact, have their been other Sunsoft Wii U VC releases? Maybe well finally get Journey to Silius and, fingers crossed, Mr. Gimmick. We never did get Trip World either on the 3DS.

I believe Heroes of Ruin is a Dungeon Crawler. Sucks not a lot of people bought it as it has online multiplayer as well. Kind of like a Diablo lite.

Heroes of Ruin is kind of awful, though. It's only got one difficulty setting: mind-numbingly easy. Whether or not you do sidequests, you'll be constantly overpowered. There's no challenge anywhere, it's just not fun. The visuals are nice enough, it'd be nice to play a competent ARPG with it, but Heroes of Ruin is just not it.

Etrian Odyssey IV/Untold are good dungeon crawlers on 3DS. There's also a ton of awesome DS dungeon crawlers.

Man, Siesta Fiesta is really cool and looks great.
Is that relatively low price a launch-discount thing or is it there to stay? Great deal either way.
