I think most Western people hope that. Well, it would suck to be a Japanese, having your game delayed and all. Still, world wide launches justify the means.

If only Sakurai came to the conclusion that smash would be released same day worldwide so that everyone doesn't see all the cutscenes on youtube instead of just getting rid of story mode.

They're not sending codes. They are more likely sending a person tethered to a 3DS that has the Smash demo pre-installed for you to play.

They're not sending codes to anyone. A Nintendo rep physically comes to the winner(s) with a 3DS demo unit in tow. No *way* they'd send demo code out to anyone in the general public right now. Hell, they wouldn't send demo code to game journos right now.

Pic of the day. This is the Tomodachi Life stage that's exclusive to the 3DS version! The front walls of the apartments disappear so you can see the area within when a fighter overlaps with the room. The rooms are randomly placed and selected from among several types. Planting an X Bomb behind a wall might be an effective tactic.

You might run into a Mii living in the room! The Mii characters are taken from the data in your 3DS system, so you could find your friends living in the apartments.
