PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Injustice is fun, definitely happy I spent $8.40 on it. I'll probably on play a little multiplayer after SP but it is great be all sorts of DC heroes.

thanks for the replies guys!

anyone played
Witch and the Hundred Knight
Twisted Metal

I have the retail version of both games and they are still sealed - thinking of selling them off to clear some shelf space and hopefully get some money back...

(and probably get the digital versions on sale down the road)

you only need to play ps1 version twisted metal, get rid of it.

Have to say LEGO Marvel Heroes is probably the best $10 I have spent in a long time.
I have been playing for close to 3 hours now and it says I am at 2.7% completion.
Granted I am a bit OCD with collecting the damn coins in the LEGO games, but still, I would say I already got my moneys worth.
And the humor and references to the Marvel Universe itself is truly top notch.
Money incredibly well spent.

have you tried it on the Vita via Remote-Play?
I just bought it too (despite owning it on the WiiU - bought it largely to play co-op with the GF with the off-screen WiiU play)

but I guess if I were to play alone, I would rather play it on the Vita/PS4

I enjoyed the PS1 games the most :O - surprised Sony didn't work on a Vita version of Twisted Metal... with Online Play and Ad-Hoc - should do well?

I've never played either of those, but I haven't heard good things about the former.

guess I'll just sell it then.

---
in case anyone is wondering... yea college life is ending in 6months
doubt i'll really have time for all these things anymore..
my artbooks, CE stuff are still sealed - don't think I'll bear opening them up - probably will try to sell them off down the road.

not sure what's happening to me - maybe I'll regret it :/

I don't think I have regretted selling off accumulated games etc. stopping myself from buying physical and digital stuff that I will never open or use is an on going process.

it's this whole "I regret selling my PS2/Gamecube, esp Gamecube" - yes partially it's because how much they are worth now, but largely it's due to how much fun they still deliver (maybe it's nostalgia in the making)

so I'm trying to be more aware/wary dealing with my present gaming collection

I don't think it's worth that. If you're just remote-playing, the native Vita version is better, specially with enabling touch controls for Igniculus.
Well, Igniculus is also touch based when playing via Remote Play since in the PS4 it can be controlled with the touchpad and the same is emulated 1:1 via the Vita's touchscreen.

That's very impressive, I did not know that. Learning new things everyday. I'd still suggest the Vita version if you're solely going to remote-play the game, but knowing that now, you can't go wrong with either versions.

Edit: Good to see more brazilians too, we really are everywhere.

For someone who isn't really into Marvel at all, but loves Lego games (AKA me), would you recommend it? I did enjoy Lego Batman 2 (yes, I know Batman is DC).

I had hoped the missing DLCs will get later ports as well, but apparently that's not the case:

and this sounds like they are at least right now not working on additional patches until Sony decides otherwise:

I thought the game was relatively successful. Disappointing that it gets so little support from Sony.

I thought they had mentioned before that both of those were up to Sony. It's a shame, but I knew that was probably going to happen when I decided to buy the game.

Welp, there goes any chance of me buying it. Tiny Tina and Hammock, alongside better optimization, would probably make me get one (even though I would wait for a discount). Now this? Only if it goes to PS+.

Well that sucks :(

I guess I'm pretty much done with the game then. I was going to grind my way to beating Terramorphous, but it seems like more trouble than it's worth. It would've been nice taking a high level character into the Tiny Tina dlc.

Do we know what the psplus games are for august yet? I couldnt find much with search, but that just probably means I suck at searching :P

Witch and the Hundred Knight is pretty good if you are into Disgaea like humour.
I thought of it like a japanese Diablo esque game, was pretty fun. Some of the dialogue is out there, though!

That being said, there is a persistent crash to xmb bug with the game. I experienced it frequently enough to stop for awhile. Dont know if it was patched, last I heard there was no talk of anything =\

EDIT: Thanks for the reply, I noticed as I read down the page that we didnt know yet, sorry guys

I have, it lends itself really well to remote play. It has simple controls so no backtouch shenanigans at all.

It's pretty much a better Lego Batman 2, at least in my opinion. I haven't finished Lego Batman 2 but I'd say Lego Marvel improves upon the foundations that Lego Batman laid down.

We never got an official statement from Sony/IG/Gearbox about the game's performance sales-wise, aye?

And honestly, I'd prefer that they be working on porting the pre-sequel instead of the rest of the DLCs, but that's me.
One could expect something from gamescon, but only if prepared for disappointment~

Fuck you, Sony.

I don't think so. No official sales numbers.

The pre-sequel for Vita would indeed be nice. But this still leaves a bad taste. And the pre-sequel will certainly get DLCs as well and I wouldn't count on getting those then.

Anyway, preparing for disappointment sounds always like a good plan. At least in regards to how Sony handles the Vita.
I love my Vita and fortunately there are many great games I enjoy but Sony is just infuriating.

It doesn't exactly give much faith in Sony, regardless of your views on the relevance of handheld systems. Something doesn't work? Abandon it! Say what you will about Nintendo, but when one of their systems is having trouble they'll give that thing like a dozen shots of adrenalin before they'll let it go. Sony just sort of didn't want to pay the medical bill for their terminally ill child.

1-Year. Dragon's Crown has sold over 950k worldwide.

I'm happy for them. But fuck. Please not another Dragon's Crown. :(

He also mentions that the 4th DLC for Muramasa will be released soon if my crapy Japanese hasn't failed me.

Really happy for Vanillaware that DC sold that well. I hope they'll continue supporting the Vita. Don't care whether they'll make DC2 or something new, I'd take anything.

Kamitani said that they make games with the mindset that they'll only get one shot at it, so they try to stuff every idea that they can think of into the original release.

I'm interested in what they'll do next since DC was basically his dream game for years.

I know. This happens with their console games too Unless it's an highbudget overhyped game, they send it to die.

Remember Starhawk, Twisted Metal, Sly 4, Nexus, SOCOM, MAG, Motorstorm games and Resistance 3? Sony didn't.

You can include Puppeteer in that list now.

Im still miffed Sony didnt help advertise any of those titles heavily, especially the bolded ones. I loved Starhawk to bits.

Kamitani said that they make games with the mindset that they'll only get one shot at it, so they try to stuff every idea that they can think of into the original release.

That only means that they won't make a sequel. They can still make a successor. There's a reason why Odin Sphere is called the spiritual successor of Princess Crown.

Vanillaware has the best "fairy tale book" games around. DC was great and all, but there'd be noone to fill the those role.

Nipponichi also had something similar with musical RPG via the Marl Kingdom (released as Rhapsody in English), but I doubt they'll even bother getting to take another shot at it when both Antiphona and Puppet Princess DS weren't success Japan. The third game isn't even on Game Archive and even if it was, it'd be unplayable on Vita (coz PS2)

Of course, I'm partly at fault about DC, since I actually tried (and succeeded in) getting platinum and finished the game 7~8 times. Should've left when the magic was still there. But the fact still remains that by the end of all that, the game didn't feel special like their older games.

There's nothing wrong about Dragon's Crown, except that it didn't invoke that awesome feeling that does "that was awesome, I wish there was more".

well that's bullshit... i was looking forward to having a handheld game with that much content and so much replay value

scea can't let me go more than a few weeks being contented and optimistic without making me hate them again

Have not tried Remote Play yet but I have read another comment saying it worked great. And since it does not use shoulder buttons for much (at least not yet), I would say it is perfectly suited for remote play.

For someone who isn't really into Marvel at all, but loves Lego games (AKA me), would you recommend it? I did enjoy Lego Batman 2 (yes, I know Batman is DC).
Absolutely. I have played pretty much all the LEGO games myself and it is the same formula just in a Marvel setting. So if you enjoyed previous LEGO games, you will enjoy this one. I would probably go as far as saying this is the best LEGO game overall despite the subject matter. It is a very tight presentation of all of the previous gameplay elements of past LEGO games.

Actually some of the negative reviews I read online before finally purchasing it criticized it for just that fact. That it did nothing new per say for the LEGO games from a gameplay perspective. But I would say the other side of the coin there is it is very refined. So yes, pick it up. Especially at $10.50. It is WELL worth it at that price.

I never liked any lego games, I always thought they are childish. I only heard good thing about lego marvel, and I like marvel, should I get this? Too bad there isnt a demo.

I've put ~30 hours into the game and haven't even finished the story or a single piece of DLC yet. I think I at least got my money's worth.

This

Really, it's becoming unbearable.

I'm kind of happy about Vita being their last handheld and all my favourite Sony IPs being dead except Ratchet. Once Vita will be dead, I'll be done with them.

And this

I had planned on getting a PS4 at some point down the road but given how they've handled the vita, I've lost a lot of interest. To the point where in the future, I might just stick to Nintendo handhelds and the PC.

I have never liked a Lego game and I haven't been a big comic guy since I was a kid, but Lego Marvel is fun as hell once you get past the opening level. That price is a steal.

One might argue that the concept of people flying around in brightly coloured spandex shooting laser beams out of their hands is childish

I got my money's worth too, but I was willing to get more of my money's worth for more money... really I was just thinking that it'd go from a ton of content to an obscene amount of content that I could always come back to down the line, since Vita is my retirement plan.

Love me some DC, but I too expect something else for their next game.
Also, #TeamHometown.

Thanks! Would love to hear them say something like "yeah, it met our expectations" or something, but guess that's too much to hope.

Creamsugar said that non-2K Vita hardware sales made up a really tiny portion of its sales in May. That's probably the case for June too.

God of War Collection sold a lot better than I thought it would. Still not bigger than a Final Fantasy game, though. ;-)
