I completely forgot about that coming up. I wonder if they will be a regular thing, or a yearly/non regular update like on Gameinformer. And I wonder if that will be a premium feature.

I'm guessing Dan will record some stuff when he goes home for vacations etc., so non-regular would be my guess. Really looking forward to it though, some of the best content Dan did on GI was with his dad.

I dunno, Bot Colony and Tour de France '14 deserve a place in the QL pantheon, for me at least. And like you, I wouldn't take that sort of praise lightly.

Anyway, honest question: Is Patrick still on vacation? He only published Worth Reading/Playing and four very short news articles this week.

All of the content GB east has been pumping out lately has been nothing short of great. Alex and Vinny pair well together and can be goofy and serious at the same time.

He said that he used this week for research, and will publish some features that came from that next week.

As for Paul Ryckert, Dan said on Twitter some time ago that he'll continue that feature on GB :)
 
Any word on what the World of Warcraft feature is? They have previously (on two or more occasions) sad they would like to do a feature where they all create characters just to do Deadmines again.

That exact thought crossed my mind while watching UPF earlier. I couldn't stop laughing for a pretty big chunk of that, and that was in large part because of how infectious Dan's enthusiasm is. Seriously, I'd already be pretty damn disappointed if it was randomly announced that Dan was leaving for whatever reason.
 
I loved watching Dan on UPF.

During the last segment he reminded me of a kid. He kept looking over to Geoff to see if he was laughing when something funny was happening.

I remember doing that when I was a kid showing my dad something funny. Good stuff. Dude seems genuine.
 
Still amazing that it took Jeff 2 years to finally be ready to produce steady content, took Vinny like 2 months. When Vinny wants something done he gets it done!

To be fair to Jeff, he made GBeast happen. Also, not really his fault CBSi cockblocked them for so long when they were first bought either.

Anyone who can navigate corporate fuckery while staying optimistic deserves some credit IMO.

I don't agree with the snarkiness of the quoted post, but I really don't think the GB audience* cares about the technical problems. If anything, they're kind of endearing.
 
Oh don't get me wrong, I love the way giantbomb embraces bunk ass production quality, but I don't think that the constant controller/framerate/sound problems really add to anything really.
 
Rewatching UPF, goddamn that last segment is amazing.

edit: I also recommend scanning the QR code on the back of Brad's Dota coaster.

happy with the canadian food showing up... but ketchup chips, dont really taste all that much like ketchup

I wish dan would try more of the food products, even though they smell or look weird or whatever. That's half the fun of trying new things. But then again, he is quite the unique snowflake.
