When it comes to comic book movies, especially ones that don't have a white male lead, I don't believe they're coming out until its announced. So many comic book movies/tv shows have gone through development hell.
Didn't they show Thanos as the big bad for GOTG 2?

I think it's reasonable to expect that they would know what 2016 was going to look like. In 2012 we got all the announcements about the 2014 films.
I'm a little disappointed myself, but I'm looking forward to seeing whatever leaked footage comes out.

Yep, just as they did last time. They aren't going to announce new movies more than 2 years out (Guardians 2 notwithstanding but there's a very good marketing reason to announce that now).
And I'm sure they wanted to bring out Phoenix for a Strange announcement but just couldn't get it done in time.
I really doubt it. I'm sure he'll play a role but they'll probably have some other threat, maybe do to with the Infinity Stones which I assume will be all assembled in time for Avengers 3.
Hey I ain't the only one disappointed. Just look around this forum. These people were expecting real announcements, not just cute little jokes from the bloated cast of the Avengers.

They didn't announce all the logos and titles for Phase 2 until Phase 1 was done. I see no reason why they'd do any different this time around.
If they can announce GOTG2 I think it's reasonable to expect other announcements. Especially since GOTG is only just coming out.

That doesn't mean anything. Of course creative guilds are going to be behind a lawsuit that will change the way work for hire copyrights are handled.
However, these lawsuits pop up all the time, and nothing comes of them. The family of one of the superman creators just lost their bid to get back superman a few years ago. Superman's creation presented a stronger case than most of Kirby's 1960s stuff.

I'm sick of the mostly white male dominated universe and was excited for some actual diversity to be heading the MCU's direction
They're probably also waiting to see if WB announces a Justice League movie for 2017. That way they could pick the appropriate movie to come out that won't get crushed by it (as in moving Thor 3's release date up to the announced date closest to it).
That's a bad comparison since Batman vs. Superman is 2 years away anyway.
People are assuming that at least one of Strange/Panther will be 2016.
I'm just saying there is a good chance the Supreme Court will hear the case.

We already know what's coming in 2016 though. They don't have an actor signed for Strange yet and there's no reason to talk about Cap 3 now when Evans has another movie before it.

It could be very much this. We have 2 XMen movies already coming out. Sony announced Sinister Six and Spider Man pushed back. Marvel could just be playing this closer to the chest for strategy. GOTG2 announcment can push GOTG coming out right now.
