I'm fucking appalled at people who can defend every little thing Israel does. EVERY SINGLE THING is defended and justified in a weird twist of logic. How people have been brainwashed to surpass their human decency is beyond me.

Kind of obvious who believes and those who are being paid to believe.

Maybe in 70 years a wealthy first-world Palestine Empire will be able to ethnically cleanse the Germans from its occupied land in South Germany, and the circle of revenge justice will be complete.

As a Palestinian revenge is not justice. I don't want the Palestinians to use suffering to justify ethnic cleansing and depravity.

I miss vire's posts.

"I condemn Israel committing mass human rights violations BUT WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO INSTEAD? Just playing the devils advocate guys"

Yeah, it's definitely rocks that killed over 40 Israeli soldiers. Pathetic.

I know right?

If I'm going to be using metaphors, I should be clinical.

How about another one?

It's OK to kill children if they are with terrorists.

#stuff I learnt from the IDF.

Jesus Christ I know we're a pretty bad offender of doing whatever the fuck we want when it comes to foreign policy, but how can our government support Isreal after all that has happened now? I mean, ffs they're killing civilians left and right

HOW THE FUCK IS THIS GUY ALLOWED TO HAVE A JOB???

Because shouting down his "enemies" is a much loved source of confirmation bias for his audience.

It's really amazing. He gives a face to his strawmen by attributing them to guests and then rendering his guests incapable of clarifying their positions. Then the viewers go "I knew we were so right", and people like my coworker go "Hannity isn't biased! He totally has Democrats/Palestinians/etc. on his show alongside Republiacns/Israelis!"

I wonder if any of them were Canadian. I know we had about 12 or so. I hope they get charged under the terrorism law if/when they ever come back to Canada.
There's at least one American from what I could tell, so I guess anything is possible. It's always interesting how perspective can color things; you could almost take "yeshiva" in that article and replace it with "madrasa".

Crosspost from poligaf. Kerry Ceasfire Plan that was rejected by Israel

First, both sides would agree to a suspension of hostilities of at least five days or up to a week, beginning Sunday, to allow for humanitarian assistance to Gaza’s besieged civilian population.

Second, Israel and Hamas would begin negotiations toward a more long-term settlement of the Gaza crisis during the truce, with Egypt playing the role of mediator and the Palestinian Fatah organization participating.

According to the plan, the United States, the European Union, and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon would serve as guarantors that the negotiations would work to the end goal of meeting both sides’ key demands: for Israel, ridding Gaza of the rockets and tunnels that pose a security threat to the Jewish state, and for Hamas, ending the Israeli embargo of Gaza that for years has choked the small Palestinian enclave.

The new plan was taking shape less than two weeks after Hamas rejected a cease-fire proposal from Egypt that Israel quickly accepted. But Kerry’s plan includes key differences from the earlier proposal that not only reflect a very different situation on the ground as a result of Israel’s military incursion into Gaza, but which also aim to entice Hamas to accept a cease-fire this time around.

New to this plan: inclusion of the guarantors as well as international pledges that Israel’s blockade and a plan to repair heavy damage sustained in the Gaza Strip will be addressed.

The proposed cease-fire plan also takes into account the presence of the Israeli military inside Gaza and does not call for a full Israeli withdrawal. Instead, it would allow for some units to remain during the cease-fire period to continue locating and destroying tunnels into Israel.

I think you underestimate governments if you think it's that simple to conduct diplomacy.
Also, i'm pretty sure the U.S knowledge of Israel runs much more deeper than what you know. There could be a myriad of reasons of why the U.S acts as it does based on their own database and accomplices.

Before you guys begin to bother getting into anything with soul, know who he is and what he believes because it's truly not worth your time to argue with him.

Well, I'm at a loss of words here. Just fucking wow. To think I was sort off pro- Israel before shit hit the fan. I'm just glad there are more and more people seeing through the bullshit of lies the media has been feeding us for a while here in the US.

Edit: I think I should add that I don't have any hatred or resentment against the Israelis. Their people are not responsible for the stupidity of their government and military.

Lol, this is your argument? "We don't know?"

You could say they know each other "biblically."
Yeah...

By the way, the U.S actually had no relations with Israel for a long time. It wasn't till after the Six Day War did they open up and become friends. The U.S just doesn't ally with Israel on a whim. As Obama says, everything is to "further U.S interests".

Uhhh you really don't know history do you?

The US has an excellent track record on foreign policy.

I think we need multiple nations at the table to ensure fairness, maybe even UN.

No need. The middle east is a bastion for fairness. I trust the Israelis with my life.

Palestine needs bigger fatter friends. They need to woo the Chinese to build their roads. I can't see China being too happy with constantly having their roads being blown up.

Yeah...

Further U.S. Interests? No, I really don't like having Israel paint a target on us with their actions. They support Israel because if you don't then you can't win elections.

I miss Amjad. He had some really good points and sources. I think he let his emotions get the better of him though. I've had to bite my tongue and rethink my responses so many times.

do you know if he permabanned or is it just temporary?

edit: also, do we know which post got him banned?

It's still kind of hypocritical how much focus this whole issue has been getting for decades when you look at what is happening in Africa. Religious and racial hypocrisy.

So because people haven't protested against other atrocities (and they have) they're not allowed to protest against this one?

No, hypocrisy would be calling them out for not protesting everything, something that nobody is capable of

I think you need to look up what the word means, and then find each individual who is angered by Israel and then find the hypocrisy in that person. Unless you think every person on the internet is part of some collective?

Then I'm right. Some of you don't really know Israel.
Perhaps read up on this.

How about you show the part where you think it is in the US interest instead of just spewing insults and links.

Edit:I searched for 'interest' and get this:
In early 1975, the Israeli government turned down a US initiative for further redeployment in Sinai. President Ford responded on 21 March 1975 by sending Prime Minister Rabin a letter stating that Israeli intransigence has complicated US worldwide interests, and therefore the administration will reassess its relations with the Israeli government.
The opposite of what you allege.
