GameStop TLOU PS3->PS4 Trade-In Offer 50% Off

guys i think i did something incredibly stupid

i didnt read the date of the deal and i just traded in my ps3 version for the remastered version at gs

is there any chance they'll honor the deal when i pick up the remastered edition?
 
This is why I cancelled my digital pre-order. When I knew they weren't giving a discount I just thought "Why not just trade in my PS3 version to act as a discount"

Which is also like why they DIDN'T do the discount

Likely not. :(

It's already in their system, so they probably just automatically put whatever store credit you would have normally gotten from the game and applied it to the reservation.
 
I'm from Puerto Rico and I've called a couple of Gamestops and none of them seem to have an idea about this promo. I'm not sure if it's to try and sell me into their other trade-in offers until the promo becomes available the 27th.

Either that or they haven't been informed of it yet. Or maybe this a US only offer, although we're a US territory and every offer from GS in the US that I know off, have been available here as well.

Will wait until the 27th and see. Want to trade-in TLOU and GT5.

I called my local store here in the States, and the guy was clueless about it. I had to wait for him to look it up.

The good news is, he said my case-less copy (No way I'm giving them the steelbook that I just bought) would be accepted as a trade in.

Not a bad deal since it comes with the DLC right? Unfortunately I don't have a PS4 though, and I'm not going to buy one for a remaster, but by the time I actually get one I will probably be able to get this for $25 or less anyway.

I'm from Puerto Rico too and i called Gamestop Plaza Carolina and the guy knew what i was talking about. I called them cause i pre-ordered my copy with $40 so i asked him if i was still eligible and if i were to trade my extra copy of TLOU could they leave the remaining credit on my card and he said yes.

Ohh that's great then. I called Plaza Guaynabo y Las Américas. Me estaban tratando de empujar otra promo de trade-in.

Anyway, thanks. I don't mind going to Plaza Carolina, although I'm sure now that all GS's will follow through with it.

I'm also from PR lol, great to see some fellow puertoricans here on GAF.

I haven't called my local GS (San Patricio, but I also go to Plaza las Americas), but I really guess that some of the stores are just learning about this deal. So that might explain why some doesn't know about it and others do, but every Gamestop here should have the deal. Still, I just suggest going there the 29th with your PS3 copy and see if they have the deal (which I'm sure they will).

Alright, I just had a few minutes long internal struggle about how much keeping my original copy of one of my favorite games of all time, to ditching it for a better version of the same game. I'm giving Gamestop the disc, keeping the case, and getting my PS4 TLoU. Quick thing, I plan all my purchases months before hand. I've only bought one game day 1 without planning before, that was GTA5, and I sold it within 2 months. This one I won't sell. I also have that $5 Kongregate coupon. Good stuff.
 
I spent that Amazon $5 adver-search/spyware promo on my TLoU pre-order. After cancelling, CS rep was kind enough to put it back on my account for a future order.
 
Can I use the Kongregate $5 and use my 10,000 PowerUp Rewards Points on the same purchase for TLoU? What if I go in and pre-order it, and use either on a different day? If I can whittle this down and use both, I'll get my copy for $10...

You cannot use coupons on preorders. I tried it before with skyrim, I had a 10 dollar coupon from my reward points. It specifically said on the coupon that it had to be toward a purchase, so I had to wait in the "nonpreorder" line at midnight to use the damn coupon lol. They might have changed it in that time, but that is the way it was before. So if anything, you will just pay it all off besides whatever u can get with reward points, then when u go to pickup the game, use the coupon

Alright. I'm probably giving up on pre-ordering. Because the $10 PowerUp Coupon only works on in-stock items. But does the Kongregate $5 work on pre-orders? And if it doesn't, can I use it at the same time as the $10 PowerUp Coupon?
I really want my $10 TLoU:R ($50-$25-$10-$5=$10).
Basically, is there a way I can use the Kongregate $5 and the PowerUp Rewards $10 on a single purchase of TLoU:R? Doesn't matter if I have to do any combination of pre-ordering or separate transactions to do it. I want this to happen.

Wouldn't that be less than the price of all the DLC it includes? It has the PVP DLC and single player DLC.


I didn't try the PVP on PS3 and until recently I was morally opposed to Left Behind existing. I am not sure why I am so tempted to buy this.
 
I'm doing this..besides Gamestop still owes me $10 since they marked down the price to $50 (I paid $63). So I will get $35 back with this offer. I'll just use that towards another pre ordered game.

Called Los Colobos and they'll have it as well. So, like you say is just a matter of all stores being up to date.

I just found $10 in one of my jeans pocket !! And I settled on just asking one of my friends to buy either the $5 or $10 coupon off me. I went from no TLoU:R to a free TLoU:R !!
 
Is there any way to get the preorder bonuses from online (can't get to store today) and still use this deal locally tomorrow?
 
Good on Gamestop for stepping up here. Still do not understand why Sony isn't treating this as a cross-gen upgrade (like they did with a bunch of titles at launch) ... Hopefully this is enough to get a lot of the folks who were on the fence interested in upgrading

Just called my local store and the guy had no clue what I was talking about when I brought up the promo. Anyone else get a different response?
 
I called gamestop and they said I could pre-order it today and bring the ps3 version Tuesday and I would get the credit then.
 
Do we know for sure if you need the case for this promotion? I know they can be picky when it comes to cases. I have the original case and "manual" inserts, the cover art however is unavailable.

Pretty sure they just care about the disc itself. You could give it to them in a generic DVD case and they wouldn't mind.
