Cancelled my pre-order. I'll wait and see what the reviews say so I can make an educated purchasing decision on this game. If this game does honestly have more varied and exciting missions with many more areas to explore then that should come across in the reviews and I will order the game again.
Also does anger me a little that when you look back at what Bungie advertised the game as.
For example the claim they made during their E3 demo that "This is all real. This is not a skybox. This is all actual geometry: I can actually go and take a stroll down that road... I won't now, in the interests of time." So either they were lying to our faces and falsely advertising their product or areas were cut from the game. If we make the assumption that Bungie wouldn't knowingly lie to us and instead consider the implications of the latter, I think one needs to really ask the question of whether these areas were cut on Activision's orders for DLC. Recall if you will
the leaked contract deal between Bungie and Activision and these two bullet points about DLC and sequels. That could be an explanation for where the promised content vanished to.
