Catching up on content, that Don Bradman intro is going to be a classic. So damn hilarious.

I learned the fundamentals of Baseball by just watching it happening in films in stuff. Cricket seems more obtuse.

I learned the fundamentals of Cricket by just watching it happening in films and stuff as well. But yeah, cricket is definitely more complicated. And I think knowing a sport that has similar elements but not the same rules just makes it seem even more confusing.

Cricket is fun to watch in the background while you play video games or something. There is a constant wave of downtime and exciting parts, but those tense parts of Cricket are some of the most tense moments I've seen in any sport (especially when a match takes 5 days).

Can never watch or follow those 5 day matches, even have trouble with the 1 day matches, love 20-20s though, just the right length imo and a lot of excitement throughout the match.

But yeah, moments like these (usually when he's playing) are awesome,

Every other batsmen from the order is already out (people who basically specialize in bowling but are not good at batting are all that remain), he's the last hope, and there's quite a bit of runs to be made. Most other batsmen would tense up and try to play it safe for most of the time so that the game is not left up to people who aren't good at batting, it comes down to the wire as well (his partners kept on getting out, one more out and the game was over).

Too bad shahid afridi pretty much only pulls it off 1 out of 20 tries.

Indeed, otherwise I'd probably watch every single match. These are just a once a while things that happen. He's really a bowler, just given an all-rounder status due to his outstanding batting performances once in a while (he can bat decently if the game is not on the line, and play it pretty safe, but due to Pakistan's almost consistently weak top order, that sometimes end up not making much progress at all and getting out after wasting balls, more often then not, he has to resort to try to pull one of those "boom boom" performances), he considers himself a bowler first (and that is far more consistent than his batting as a result of less pressure).

Also, I would say 1/10 instead of 1/20. LOL.

Looking at the Coming up on Giant Bomb list, I'm pretty sure everything on there goes up before Jeff gets to work Monday morning. That's pretty awesome.

In theaters august 8th

For Jeff, its always pizza time

I would like to see them play a CD-i

"I found a Philips CD-i on the sidewalk in Berkeley today..."

Sounds about right. That's where I'd put my CD-i at least.

edit: Still, a CD-i stream would be pretty great. That system was just one big bad idea.

It makes me tired. It's like watching Fear and Loathing. There's a lot of gems within it but you feel mentally exhausted after consuming it all in one sitting.

Ryan's mustache is the best thing about that stream.

Also, was this just a random stream they put up of them getting drunk as fuck? I never saw this live, I think.

Ryan's mustache puts Tom Selleck's to shame.

I honestly can't remember the context for this stream but from what I gather they came back from a stream that had already ended to give out codes to a game and it descended into drunken madness? I could be completely, majorly, or minorly wrong.

Dan's reason for not playing WoW, that he thought he'd become way too hooked on the game, is a very, very good reason for not playing WoW. Holy shit did I fall deep into that game when it came out. It's the only thing I've really been addicted to, to the point that I gave my PC to a friend about a year after the game came out so I couldn't play the game anymore (I got the PC back after three months, and I never touched the game again after that).

edit: Come to think of it, I also got pretty hooked on Diablo 2 for a while. Not nearly on same level as WoW though. Blizzard, you bastards! Good thing they stopped making games I want to play.

That's a real thing that happened? OMG!

Haha, that's a thing that happened, yes :)

I get why he chose WoW because you know what you're getting, but it would have been a bit more interesting if he had chosen something more recent that had a good reception, personally speaking. Guild Wars 2, say

I'm fine with them choosing WoW. It's still one of the best introductions to the genre, and a popular game. I get what you're saying though.

That Elwynn Forest theme sure brings back memories...
I only played maybe 70 or 80 hours of WoW in 2005 but for some reason that theme and the OG login music make me super nostalgic whenever I hear them.

fuck yes let's go, hyped for this series. I hope they bring in a different guest each week with different viewpoints on WoW, that would be rad.

Also I might restart WoW.
