Loved the movie. Music. Fight Scenes. Zod. World machine wrecking shit. Faora.

My only real peeve is Lois Lane teleporting showing up wherever and everywhere at the right time.

A zoomed-in bootleg copy? Of course you can't see shit.

When did I say I wasn't able to follow or understand it?

Then which is your problem with quick cuts? if a scene is easily digested by the viewer what gives the means in which is presented?

Winter Soldier has excellent fight choreography and set scenes, far superior than MoS.

They make action sequences look much less impressive. They're there to hide a lack of extensive choreography and use of stunt actors.

There's moments in there where the camera lingers on for more than a single punch, and those look damn impressive, but they're far and few in between.

Moments like that, where you see action beats done in one take, they can be pretty awe-inspiring.

And a CGI slugfest doesn't hide anything?

Thanks, I'll take the actors(stuntmen) actually in a scene than the alternative.

It was still worlds beyond the Bourne shake-fests. Come on now.
Winter Soldier wasn't Matrix/Raid level choreography but still better than 99% of other action movies.

I'd take it over MoS, but that may be personal preference more than anything else.

One of the great masterpieces of its time. One that my children, and their children will one day enjoy.

The greatest questions of our life and existence are asked, and sometimes answered in this film. Perhaps the director wanted us to answer these questions on our own. As I have said before, it made me think if I am doing enough in my life to be considered a good man, a good son, a good representation of a human.

I harkened back to my days in philosophy class back in 1995. What does it all mean, where does it all go, how does it all end. The answer starts with all of us.

It's like superhero movies can take two entirely different approaches to subject and both of them work just fine.Crazy I know! This whole fun vs. angst argument is beyond petty.
This. But the internet does its dogmatic, totally binary choices, doesn't it?
good movies can balance all sorts of tones perfectly, not just moody vs goofy...superhero movies struggle with the basics
This as well.

That may be your opinion, but I STRONGLY disagree. CA:TWS had the best fight scenes of any superhero movie, EVER, IMHO. Claiming that MoS had better fight choreography makes me frown for your tastes.

:(

...you can't be serious.

Comparing MoS fight scenes to TWS seems silly. One is an alien who can wreck mountains and shrug it off. The other guy is basically an enhanced human.

I'm not even trying to knock the movie since I haven't even seen it yet. But that gif is pretty stupid, made worse by slowing it down.

Well then you really have no concept of why we are saying that the fights in CA:TWS put MoS to shame. In the context of the films, CA is miles above MoS in every way. Choreography, emotional impact, tension, every way.

MoS needed more of what CA:TWS had in it.

You don't gush over something with only that gif to back it.

This. The two movies have two completely different kinds of actions that IMO, are both great for different reasons. No need to do yet another Marvel-movie vs. Non-Marvel-hero-movie dick measuring contest.

I have my own issues with MoS's action scenes, but agree, they are very different from MoS
because they're better...mostly because TWS, as a movie, is better and the action does more to drive the rest of the story/characters forward.

The bolded is an assumption, though. There are three components to most action scenes:
  • The choreography/performance
  • The way it was shot
  • The way it was edited
Just because you cannot see some of the choreography does not mean there was no choreography. I agree that some films DO use shaky cam/choppy editing to hide a lot of flaws, but choreography is not purely a means of conveying action; it can be a consideration when deciding how a scene is shot and edited. Having a wide angle of the action is not always the best course to take if you are trying to convey a specific feeling or attitude.

Generally, I really don't like "shaky" cam because it can be a crutch and has been all the rage lately (although it's not a new phenomena)...but I found myself loving TWS's action. TWS happens to have many different types of action scenes. Some are shot shaky, some less so; some are wide, some tight; etc.

There is a very small detail that made me think that TWS knew what it was doing. In the scene after Fury is shot, Cap is chasing the shooter. As he's making his way up to the rooftop, he is running through a hall and leaps to a desk and bounds off of it with the kick of his leg, out of frame. The camera doesn't just shakily follow him--the camera operator actually kind of follows the leg/foot that bounds off the desk.

It is a small detail but added clarity and energy to how Cap was moving. It's "frenetic" done right. The editing complements the camera which complements the choreography which complements the store/scene/mood.

All IMO, of course.

Fine, I would say Hulk vs Abomination was a better realized fight, without toppling skyscrapers.

Never even noticed the Jesus angle in this movie lol. I enjoyed it for what it was, not a huge Superman fan though(I actually dislike him), but the movie was enjoyable

I thought it was a decent film 7/10 could have used a rewrite to fix up some of the dialogue and also a little but more humor to lighten up the movie a bit.

I notice it (the same way everyone is a Jesus metaphor), but I never got why it was a problem for so many people.

I mean Superman has always represented more, whether its immigrants or Moses or Jesus or hope or mankind or this and that
