I guess going to the pool hall instead of going to school was a thing in the part of ireland Danny is from as well.

Its that time of year again and that means Extra-Life is back! For those of you that may not know, Extra-Life is an annual gaming event where people play games for 24 hours to raise money for childrens hospitals. This year Extra-Life will be happening on October 25th.
Last year we did amazingly well. The Giant Bomb team raised $122,680 and ranked 3rd of 3,800 teams. Keeping that in mind Ive set the team goal to $175,000 for 2014. Its a lot of money but we can do it for the kids!
Getting involved
Ive been participated in Extra-Life for 5 years now and I cant recommend it enough. Lets face it, most of us are playing video games for an inordinate amount of time anyway. It may as well be for a good cause. AND ITS SO EASY TO JOIN! Go to www.extra-life.org, sign up and join the Giant Bomb team. You can join the team during the sign up process or by going to the team page and hitting join www.extra-life.org/team/giantbomb.
How do I get people to give me money for the kids?
This is the hardest part but also the most rewarding. Social media is your best friend. Tweet it, tumbl it and facebook share while youre at it. Live streams are also a great way of getting donations. Give your stream some production value. Create banners with your donation link, try and raffle off any spare game codes you may of come across. Try creating a theme for your stream. Maybe youre going to play all of the Halo games because youre crazy. Or maybe youre going to play 24 hours of Dota 2 because you like good video games [Urgh. - Fattony12000].
I'm a busy person with a job, kids and a crippling drug addiction. I don't have time to play!
No worries friend you can still help! Check out the roster of team Giant Bomb and donate to someone you like the look of.
Ive read your words, Ive signed up and joined the Giant Bomb team. What now?
This most important part of Extra-Life is the build up to October 25th. Use all that time to spread the word and get as many donations as possible. Once youve signed up post the link to your donation page and any live streams you may be doing in this thread. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! This really is a community effort and we need as many people as possible to hit the team goal.
In 2013 the Giant Bomb team raised an incredible $122,972! That's a crazy amount of money! This year I've set the goal at $175,000. It's a lot but I really think we can pull it off!
Our team of duders are on mission to save kids through the vigorous playing of video games, and we need your help.
Each of us has chosen our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
On October 25th 2014, We'll attempt to play video games for 24hrs straight and it's our hope that you'll support us with a donation that will go directly to that team member's chosen hospital.
Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.
Any signs if the duders will participate like last year?
I propose 24 hours of mario party.

Remember the awful pizza(s) they ordered in huge amounts that that came way too late?
Remember the awful pizza(s) they ordered in huge amounts that that came way too late?
I remember that, because I remember being equally anxious watching them on camera for pizza that never seemed like it would arrive, then the consequent anger when they did arrive and turned out to be hot garbage.
All I'm saying is, I hope they get better food for the 24 hours this year.
it not only came super late, the driver forgot the actual pizzas.
"Can we substitute P'zones for Pasta?"
Dan is unbelievably sheltered. Now as the GB fanbase scrutinises his every word, it all comes to the fore."I didn't know they had pool in Europe." jesus christ, Dan.
oh my
I know people were making fun of the Klepek article title, but man, that interview is great. Some real real talk in there.
If not you, who else would be doing such a thing at GB? Good job, Patrick.
I really hope someone compiles all the ridiculous things we learn about Dan. I've never encountered someone like him.
How does an adult think to themselves that 'egg whites' refers to the outer part of an egg? he's had a sunny side up egg before I'm sure - white ring, yellow center.. also have to echo what someone else said about it being impossible to not have salad by the age of 30, it's like those people that show up in reality shows that have been eating nothing but kraft macaroni and cheese and vienna sausages their entire lives.

Just like Pi we're going to be infinitely counting off layers to Dan's idiosyncrasies and never reach an end because it defies human comprehension. The guy must be joking by now, right?
Well, the "I didn't use gel to shave" was pretty bad. Outside of my outburst for the LotRVSGoT thing, that was the only one that truly troubled me.
I don't use a gel to shave either.
Water and a sharp blade is all you need.
Good lord I can't imagine how unpleasant that must feel. No wonder why he just uses a trimmer now.He said didn't use water either.

You know exactly why.I love how Dan never gets more specific than "Europe."
