Before people get mad at Patrick, that's an auto tweet from within the game.
Wish they didn't hate the game so much, would have been cool to have them play the sequels every few weeks or something, really enjoyed it.
It's enjoyable because they hate these terrible games so much.
Swedish Mike is a good dude
damn Bowser is a dick LOL
Something I thought that was a bit odd from the latest Bombast, Drew saying that he doesn't have any current-gen console yet, and neither does anyone he plays with have one. He works for GiantBomb, an office full of people with the current gen consoles, so don't the duders play together much over PSN or Xbox Live outside of the office?

I never knew American's played Soggy Biscuit too.

I think it's somewhat unprofessional of him to make claims about this generation of consoles when he has so little experience with them. Sure, he's probably played around with them in the office, but not to the extent where I would trust or value his opinion on anything PS4/Xbox One related.
You'd think keeping current with new games and consoles would be a requirement for someone in a prominent position in a video game website, but Drew eeks by on his Halo and mobile game knowledge. I don't think Brad owns a Wii U yet either.

He doesn't make any claims about the consoles though, just that there's nothing of interest to him there. It's not like he's saying that every game on the PS4 so far has been shit or anything, or that he's claiming to be an authority on console games.

its almost like Giant Bomb is a personality-driven website and not beholden to some kind of "cover every game from all angles regardless of desire on the part of it's staff" mentality. You'd think keeping current with new games and consoles would be a requirement for someone in a prominent position in a video game website, but Drew eeks by on his Halo and mobile game knowledge. There have been a few points in recent podcasts where he's thrown off the conversation with claims that were downright incorrect (I can't recall specifically, but I remember the other guys having to correct him several times). Especially with Vinny now gone from the podcast, I just wish that he would play anything current and be able to contribute meaningfully to the conversation about games.
The best Mario spin-offs always separate Bowser from the playable cast, instead giving him the role of "guy who tries to fuck everyone over all the time". Mario Smash Football is the best example of this, with Bowser only showing up to either a) jump onto the pitch and literally try to murder the players, or b) send his team of football-playing robots to defeat you. Sadly, they made him playable in Strikers Charged.
Mario Party 10 actually takes this idea and sprints with it, with the whole game being 4 (assorted Mario characters) vs 1 (Bowser).
Looks like CBSi is letting some Gamespot people go. Maybe their recent re-focus on video caused casualties?
Carolyn Petit gone (along with 'others'):

Err, I really hope Alex is just offering sympathy here with this tweet and name change:

Jeff made a declaration a while ago where he said unless it was your job, he couldn't yet justify telling people they needed to buy either a X1 or a PS4. Suppose we might be hitting around that time where that'd start to be different, but, he's been less than enthusiastic about the current set of games.
I guess I'm saying, I don't think it's Drew's job either being video and all. And there's almost nothing he'd play until Destiny/Halo hit.

I think he contributes just fine as is. Not every one of them has to be at the bleeding cutting edge of tech. I liked hearing from someone who is still in the old gen with no reason to upgrade.
I mean, dudes gonna upgrade when the Halo Collection comes out, but he's being sensible in that he's waiting for games to give him a reason to purchase a machine, instead of being like most gaffers and purchasing a machine and THEN waiting for games to come out on it,
It's also a weird complaint about a podcast that spent an insane amount of time breaking down the history of GI Joes and obscure japanese ps4 digital download releases. But hey,
Yeah, that's fair. I only really ever have time to listen to the podcast (and a few random quick looks here and there), so that's my main point of reference. I guess it really determines what you're looking for out of them. I enjoy each of their personalities and think they gel pretty well (especially for a team that was just shaken up again), but I'm also looking to them for opinions on new games coming out more so than obscure releases or mobile games. Jeff and Brad are really the only two who address this kind of stuff on a weekly basis (don't know what Dan's really into yet).
It's sucks that people are losing jobs but Gamespot has always seemed over staffed to me. Hopefully, it doesn't mean Danny will have less time to pop in on GB stuff.
Oh boy. I owned this. A terrible clone of an already bad game. It's pure diarrhea.they need to play the best Mario Party game next

disclaimer: this game is pure shit
Yeah, it's horrible but I kinda agree. It's clear that sites like Gamespot are now competing with the Youtube generation - who operate a lot leaner. GS do put out a lot of video content, but not that much, which is especially weird as Jeff said many reviews are done by freelancers. Obviously there was some bloat there.
I think in this day and age, if you cover games and are not an on-camera personality where people expect to see you daily/weekly (almost becoming indispensable), your future seems limited to freelance/Patreon as the salaried opportunities seem incredibly rare.
I'm glad there's somebody around who hasn't bothered with the new consoles. Nice to know one of them might be a sane person.
Following GS a bit since Danny's introduction on GB, I think it's safe to assume that GB puts out at least as much daily original video content as GS. And GS brought literally over 40 people to E3, so you can assume that they have been overstaffed for their needs for some time now.
I would be down for this.We need a Vinny/Patrick/Alex podcast to even things out.
Scrap the morning shows for it!
