Single Large Grape Man

You know what, I agree! Pac-man's alts should be based on fruits!

To be fair, after playing brawl for a long time going back to Melee feels wrong too. They so different that it takes a good while to get back into the swing of things
The thing is, Bill said it "no longer" feels right. Implying that the problem isn't that he's not used to how Melee feels, but rather that Smash 4 just feels a lot better.

Like I said, playing one game makes the other feel wrong. I wouldn't put too much stock into the line beyond that. Anything else just seems like speculation and over thinking things.

Personally I think Gen 6 has a great base right now. Super content light but still a great start with some great new designs.

tbqh when people say "this gen has post game content!" they tend to forget said post-game is from third version.

B/W male trainer design was so bad I used the female character

The first one or the second one? Because the first one is like a normal bloke and imo one of the better male designs. Second one is ghastly with his pineapple hair.

Also music wise, gen 5 did that cool low health beep being part of the music which for some reason they didn't bring back for gen 6, which automatically makes it top tier in my books.

Personally I believe it was done so it didn't interrupt the battle song. It's honestly kinda jarring when you're going back and forth between them.

That's beside the point anyway. I was saying that I admire Bill for being brave enough to post that because a lot of Melee fans are passionate and defensive about their game. What he meant by it doesn't really matter.

And that may be true if he spends most of his time doing 4p ffa

Pretty sure Smash fans are just over zealous, lol. Every Smash game has it's diehard defenders and Melee is far from alone there.

Thank you, Brave Bill Trinnen, for saying that you prefer one game to another, your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This is somewhat a joke, but I don't see why exactly he's brave or has guts for saying that, what else is he going to say?

If Bill has spent a lot of time playing smash 4's ffa with all the new items, stages, characters, and physics then I can see his point that going back to melee at this point feels weird just due to how much less stuff is there. I dunno if I'd go as far to say "it doesn't feel like smash" but I can see how someone who's probably played a close to complete version of the game every day for months might feel weird going back to melee

It naturally feels weird going from melee to brawl/smash 4 because of the input buffer alone, nevermind everything else on top of that, that screws a lot with the feel of the game once you've gotten used to it being there/not being there.

So, let's say Sakurai approached you and said you could put ONE alt costume into the game. What would it be?

(The alt costume can be a full model swap, as long as it doesn't affect hitboxes, and could be a different character as long as it makes sense)

I'd want MulletDorf.

That's true, but the difference is that Brawl defenders usually come off as bitter, which is easier to deal with than Melee defenders who are more condescending. If Bill has said the same thing about Brawl no longer feeling right, that's honestly not that brave.

I don't think FFA has anything to do with what he's saying. He specifically said that the game doesn't feel "right." He didn't say the game feels limited or different, he said it doesn't feel "right." To me, that says he thinks the game as a whole (including FFA with items or 1v1 with no items) doesn't feel right.

This will probably change once I know the full roster, and it might be a boring answer, but Dr. Mario. (Tall Robin would be great too, but hitboxes...)

I already got the alts I really wanted (Male Wii Fit Trainer, Female Villager, Female Robin, Pink Jumpsuit Little Mac), and the one I really, REALLY wanted. (Ike's Radiant Dawn look, but it's even better since it's his default.)

I disagree completely. Both view points are as petty as they come and he shouldn't be effected by them. There isn't anything brave about saying this.

1 or 2 because 1 is actually the best male trainer design , its just a dude. I lot of the peeps gen 4 forward just look like they are earing clothes, some of them are still rather extravagant, but a lot of the characters just kinda look like peeps. I like that

Kirby with the Mario Paint baby face.

It depends on who's in, and if the costume has to actually be from a game, or if concept art's okay.

For example, if we got Toon Zelda, my choice would be this concept art; if we got Ridley - probably either his Meta or Omega form, and if Shulk got in, I'd like Dunban as a clone.

But if we're sticking solely to veterans and existing newcomers...maybe the tuxedo or swimsuit for Snake.

SS Impa for sheik

Tuxedo Snake would be pretty awesome, I gotta admit.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree then. While I agree that both viewpoints are petty, I stand by my opinion that someone in his position saying something that could come off as negative about Melee is very brave. Not only are Melee fans passionate, but they're proactive.

People need to stop asking for Snake from regular POTD because we know that Snake wouldn't be in or would be announced only on Direct or Trailer. People need to unite together and asking for Ice Climbers, in case if the rumors and leaks are wrong :P

I'll second swimsuit Snake, but I don't want to make requests for unconfirmed characters. My heart can't take it...

(Though I don't know why I'm suddenly so Snake happy. I don't like 3rd party characters generally, but since he's be in already, he's pretty much the only one I'd be okay with them adding now.)

But I need the leaks to be right! I need Ridley!

Pic of the day. Reshiram appears on one of the stages in the 3DS version! Zekrom and Milotic will appear, too. It's close enough to the launch date, so I don't have to describe this stage to you, right? The design of this stage is based off of the surroundings of someone's castle.

I knew that we are getting Gen 5 stage since I found it very fishy that we didn't get Reshiram as a pokeball pokemon.

Nevertheless it's a good choice of Pokemon Black/White stage :)

Saying that he thought Melee or even Brawl were better than Smash 4 would have been brave, the stupid kind of brave, but brave nonetheless.

Saying that going back to older games doesn't feel right when he's been playing the new one probably non-stop compared to either melee or brawl is just something that happens because the games are so different, I've felt weird going back to melee after trying out brawl for a couple of weeks.

Heath why would I do that when Jiggly clearly isn't available yet.

if you think Melee fans are any different you really are wrong and quite frankly using stereotypes, lol (bizzare that fan subsections really do have stereotypes... Just kinda realized that). Both groups have vocal idiots that are condisending and bitter. The worst of the Brawl fans will call the Melee fans tryhards with no life and the worst of the Melee people will say that they're casuals ruining smash.

But I guess you are very much allowed to disagree. I just think it's silly to generalize like that.

I think he's talking more about how some of the more single minded Melee defenders will latch onto this and complain to him...Though not really a "Brave" act on Bill's part to say this, it still may incite some heat his way.

Smash GAF complained that the Smash Dojo "spoiled" Brawl by revealing too much, and here we are whining when Sakurai doesn't reveal too much.

I really appreciate POTDS even more since it's more fun to speculating things to see how it work or so.

Just wanted to pass by and say that X/Y are incredibly disappointing.

Thank you.

Sorry, it's not pokemon thread.

So you're saying... Snake in the HW direct?

Naw, it's not happening.
