PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

But the C;H anime is trash and the VN is, according to you, even better than S;G's, so I wouldn't assume the VN's quality judging the anime. R;N had some serious pacing issues, I don't think it's particularly faithful to the VN.

I assume that R;N was held to much higher standards seeing the episode count, much higher animation quality and the fact it came after the wonderful Steins;Gate anime. Looking at a still from Chaos;Head should tell you everything you need to know (awful) (I still don't understand why the opening sequence to C;H was so well animated compared to everything else starting with the opening)

Something to note is the fact that Chaos;Head gives you a choice every delusion; none, green, or red. Green is more fantasy, red is more fear/nightmare. Should you choose (and I do recommend), you can go all-red and get a ton of dark sequences skipped in the anime (somewhat reminiscent of the visual novel 'The Noose', a very short freeware)

If the VN was as bad as the anime, they surely wouldn't be making a direct sequel. Don't skip it~

I've decided I need to slow down my Vita purchases, and space them out more. Only getting Disgaea 4 and Hohokum this month. I'll make an exception if a surprise NISA pre-order goes up for physical htoL#NiQ.

I'm addicted to Rogue Legacy. So perfect on Vita with the suspend/resume, I can get a quick run in whenever I have a few spare minutes. Just beaten the first boss.

You still have to pay shipping with super ufo. Prices are about the same. PA is pretty good, I don't get the hate.
I don't understand the PA love.

With shipping it comes at $85 and its faster. Play-asia free shipping takes forever also and their price before this so called "limited sale" is US$ 115.99.

Raising price on anything that sells:

Has the flickr app been fixed yet?

Well, you say that but... and this is something a lot of Vita games do... everytime I suspend the Vita, it loses connection to PSN. You get a pop-up bubble telling you that. Then you have to wait a half minute whilst it attempts to reconnect. Takes away from the convenience of suspend feature really.

Any way to fix it?

Really like the visual style in the Necronomicon dungeon in Mind Zero.

I wish there was more character interaction/story between the dungeons. It gets tedious, so it'll probably take me a while to beat the game. I've played for 11 hours now. The game is definitely worth the sale price though.

Glad to hear you think it was worth your money. There are barely any interactions between the characters outside the story, just two or three per chapter, including quests.

Use Airplane mode, then it won't even try to reconnect. Might not be what you want, but works for me because I like battery life and don't need cross-save. It would be nice if cross-save could be turned off in the game settings, though.

Yeah think it'll have to be done to be honest. Wouldn't mind if it just automatically reconnected, but it tells me it's disconnected, waits a minute and THEN pops up and reconnects. Very annoying. Doubt I'll ever bother playing it on the big screen honestly.

By the way, would anybody recommend Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath to someone who never played the original? What kind of game is it?

I'm considering turning down the difficulty to easy to make the game less tedious though. Just died against the boss in Necronomicon, and don't want to do a lot of grinding

Do it, Normal is not worth it. Only the hardest difficulty will give you a trophy, just go through the game on Easy the first time around.

It is very good. Gameplay is tight, leveling mechanics are awesomre and the level creation works well.

Although some of them fuck with you :P

carefully drop down to short, spaced platforms that are just within view...hmm no more...drop of faith = floor of spikes

This is what I did, as I grew tired of the Vita draining it's battery trying to connect to wireless for a cross-save while I was on an underground train!

Yaaay, second platinum ever. It was a fun ride. Battle Pentagram 2 when.

I'll probably get it down the line... when it goes on a mega sale on US PSN

Yes, I don't think that it's all on Konami either. There's certainly more to the story. Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense that Konami advertises the games for Vita and then releases them as PSP-only.
Just a curious quote "Konami would need to discuss Vita compatibility with our teams". You would think that compatibility is pretty much straightforward. If it works it works, else it's not compatible.
I would like to know what there needs to be discussed. Probably some behind the scenes licensing/sales agreement for a PSN re-release shenanigans.
All games ship with bugs, it's just a matter of how often they occur and how damaging they are to the user experience. It's quite possible for there to be a bug with the game in the Vita emulator that SCEA considered tolerable while SCEE didn't. Or there might be differences in the two regions' versions of the game that produce problems in the EU one. Whatever the issue is, it's likely the case that SCEE wants Konami to fix it, while Konami doesn't want to spend more resources on it and thinks SCEE is just being difficult.

I have a question if I but PS+ in the middle of the month does my month only cover until the end of that month?

What do you mean? Are you going to get a 1 month sub? 1 Month = 30 Days so it'll be good for 30 days. Doesn't matter what time of the month it's used. If it's in the middle of the month it'll still last 30 days

And I mean, look at these 3D models. They're sogood.gif.

Someone mentioned Chaos;Head to now I'm here. Yeah I'm one of those people that really likes the Chaos;Head VN (the original now I haven't played NoAH that is apparently A LOT better because it has routes now). The original C;H VN actually left a bigger impression on me than the S;G VN did. The C;H anime is so god awful it needs to be erased forever and rebooted by Whitefox where it follows some weird amalgamation of the C;H NoAH arcs instead. I still think C;H is worthy of another reboot similar to what uFotable is doing with Fate Stay Night. Reading that VN at night at all times was both a great and horrible idea.

And god damn I didn't know the R;N VN had 3D character models.

Just out of curiosity, when you put in a code on PSN, if you don't redeem it, is it still free to use on a different account?

I check codes with my Vita all the time, as long as you don't go past the initial input you don't actually claim it (there's a screen with the equivalent of "is this what you wanted?" first).

Rogue Legacy is consuming my life!

I just did a 22k run. 3 bosses down in total, a bit over 20 hours played.

I loooooooooove this game!
