Mind you I can only speak for myself, but I think that with a lot of people, if a Digimon wasn't in the TV show, then they didn't know about it. We only got a few digivices and a smattering of cards, don'tchaknow?

It's like the TV series universe is the "Main" universe, so to speak. Or to put it another way, it wouldn't be farfetched for Detective Comics fans to not know about the most recent villain in Batman Incorporated, even if they share the same universe.

I want all of that "everyone is a digidestined" crap gone though. I really don't see a point in sticking with this development, they can easily make an alternate timeline. I'm not really saying to axe the entire new 02 cast, but they can feel free to because I hated or was indifferent to each one, except veemon and blackwargreymon. Oh, and forget that armor shit too pls. I know any of this will probably not happen, but I can hope. :/

Oh, and I agree with i-hate-u, I wanna see more royal knights and that dark ocean. And I think they can do better with the four beasts. Just no more myotismon pls.

I hope everyone can get a mega evolution too, my boy Izzy and Tentomon deserve that.

they were pampered and naive scrubs.

Season 1 cast had gone through some REAL shit. They were forced to survive for months in the digital world and needed to find food, shelter and avoid giant monsters trying to kill them on a daily basis. In the end they literally defeated the apocalypse. The season 2 cast were fucking tourist. They sleep in their own beds at night and only jumped into the digital world after school when they had some free time to knock over some towers. It was a fun vacation.

the absolute best episode of 02 was the first Blackwargreymon episode. The new group were finally exposed as the coddled, soft, inexperienced frauds that they really were

Patamon's line are only strong against dark virus digimon, who were 3/4 of the main villians in the show. Agumon's line is the strongest in the show if you count Omegamon.

Agreed. Izzy was the brains of the team and Tai was the heart. Definitly my favourite pair of heroes from across all the digimon series.

And I almost forgot that one of the four beast showed up in adventure 2. I hope we see the rest in this new series.

Koushiro could be argued to be in the top 3 of best characters in the Digimon saga. He had the best backstory in Adventure, and one of the most heart touching moments in the end of VenomVamdemon/Miyotsimon arc. His parents and Ken's are also the best ones in the series.

Speaking of Ken, I would personally like seeing him join the original 8. Not only does he have a crest, but he has experienced real obstacles that he overcame, unlike the other 02 leads were everything was handed to them. Stingmon is a pretty boss digimon.

Yeah Ken was easily the best character from 02 and tbh the best part of 02 in general. I actually think Davis becomes passable in the second half of the season once he and Ken become friends, though he's still a tad bit annoying. Yolei and Cody I can't stand though, leave 'em out.

I highly doubt we're going to see any more armor digivolving considering it was rarely used (if ever, it's been a long time) after everyone got regular evolutions.

I actually was a big fan of DNA digivolving in Season 2 though and I think it'd be cool to see it return, especially if we see new combos with the original 8. I really liked the plot device of having each pair become really good friends and etc. for it to work. I just fucking hate how (as usual) only one or two people achieve the highest form of evolution.

DNA/Jogress evolution was a work around the regular evolution to reach higher levels. Without crests, normally the digimon can't evolve beyond champions/adult. As a crest holder, we haven't seen the higher evolutions of Wormmon, it would be a good opportunity for that.

DNA evolution for the regular cast would be very OP though. They can already reach Mega/Ultimate, so a DNA evolution of that is way stronger than all the evolutions in 02. That being said, it would be awesome if it happens:

Taichi and Yamato
Jou and Koushiro
Sora and Mimi
Takeru and Hikari.

Part of the reason why I think 02 should be passable, is that it has just as good partner Digimon designs. It feels bit eh that they reused movie character for Tamers (Terriermon), but at least that worked. I do feel that Seasons 1-3 had some great partner Digimons all around.

Also 02 introduced 3 good songs as well, while bringing back Brave Heart, so it also had good soundtrack.

I was never bothered by shipping wars which is maybe why I dont mind 02 that much. lol

I don't think I have heard a bad digimon song from the first 4 seasons. Who ever was responsible for the selection of music clearly had good taste. Wada and Aim are just an incredible combo.

I grew up reading Animorphs, so this was not really a new concept, nor did I find it appealing as a Digimon version. They took away the important aspect of having powers and everyone basically could morph into a super-being.

I like Frontier. The mythology thing of it was great. The Digimon designs were pretty good also. The soundtrack was amazing, both opening and ending. The first ending was one of my favorites of all time in anime, at least in the Brazilian Portuguese dub.
