PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

the thing is for Asia PSN, we get multiple versions of the same game
so things like
Game A (Japanese Version)
Game A (English Version)

happens frequently

That's both good and awful. Imagine someone that doesn't know japanese and only see released english versions of games.

TOTP: Don't forget to download the free PS+ games tonight. All of them will be available for download at once throughout the rest of the month.

I get the impression you can get quite a few codes from just asking. Having a channel with a couple hundred subscribers might help too. Hell, if I wanted to I could run through a friend and run as a content creator for his schools organization and get all the codes. But I don't. Because that's scummy and I don't need that many games. Maybe one day. Also also, that kind of scamming tightens up security for others. And that's just shitty.

hmm what about Twitter accounts - with almost a thousand followers lol.
does that count? lol

it's just annoying when they only put one version on PS+ (e.g. Mind Zero)
the thing is Asia is HUGE, with so many different cultures, etc - I don't see how Sony (or any company) can lump us together in Asia PS+

Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc would be very different from the rest.
Korea, Japan should have their own specific PS+ programmes (which the latter does have)

Just bought child if light for my vita. I think the price is right and the game seems beautiful. Also bought the dlc for muramasa though I didn't start to play the game since I bought it for some reason and I have all dlcs. I. Waiting to finish the final fantasy x and x2 games. I have tried the game and the cat lady dlc(which I liked very much) muramasa looks stunning on the oled vita. The problem I have now is I want to try and play child of light... Which one should I play first?

Maybe play Muramasa with one character, then CoL and then go back to Muramasa for second character and dlc?

I'm very curious to see if Phantom Breakers price changes when the PAL PSN updates tomorrow night.

I second this, good way not to get burnt out on Muramasa.

Is it possible to cancel digital preorders on PSN before release?

Specifically, the Destiny Expansion Pass.

PSN warns you cancellation is not possible except where required by law. It's not in the US so no cancels, not sure what the process is if it's available where you are.

I've got a quick Muramasa question:

I'm on the first mission I believe, at the first save point. It is at a dead end at the rightmost part of the first map. The game's waypoint tells me I need to go to the far left of the map, about 10 screens. I get there, and once I enter the new area, the map tells me I need to go back to the previous map I was just on. I go to back to the right, enter that area, and the waypoint is telling me again to exit left again!

What the heck am I supposed to do here.

You might have to enter the area either by ground level or there might be a hill which you need to be on top of to get into the area you are trying to get to. Have you made sure that this is not the case?

Keep your map open as you move towards the area and make sure to follow a path that will get you as close to where you need to be as possible. It could just be a little hidden if you didn't look closely enough.

Buy a PSN card, get the second 25% off. This applies to eShop and Xbox points as well.

Ohhh. Is this a fairly good way to get PSN credit? Iv'e never really shopped around for credit before.

New PS+ subscriber here, at what time does the store usually update so I can download the new batch of free games?

Usually same time or a little later than the store update. When I'm home at 5 PM Central US time it's usually updated. But SCEA is habitually late/inconsistent.

Open the full map (press select). The area you should go will be blinking and will have a flag.

Is it still possible to put a Japanese PSN account on a PS4 and download games from that account and play it on the PS4 with a different NA account like the PS3?

Yep.

Not that there's a lot of Japanese-only content on the PS4 so far though, lol

But you can totally try the Yakuza Isshin demo, that creepy Dream C Club f2p non-game, and... a mahjong game by Arc System Works? Wha...?

Pretty sure, a friend has EU and US PSN accounts on her PS4. I think the Vita is the only one where this is weird because it only supports one account.

Googling this at work was obviously not my brightest idea

What a suspicious release date for Velocity 2X. PS Plus freebie next month? God that would be the best thing ever.

It would be both great and bad. Great for obvious reason, bad because I've never payed them lol (Velocity Ultra was free on D1 as well and I didn't notice the original Velocity until it was given away by Sony)

Yeah I'd be surprised to see it free on PS+ again. Great get for PS+ users, but sorta weird unless Sony is 100% funding dev or something. Has anyone had multiple games on PS+ like that (not counting publishers like Curve)?

I'd go with Child of Light first. It's a relatively short and sweet game -- you can polish it off in 8 hours or less, maybe more if you do all the sidequests and look for all the secret areas, etc. I recommend playing it on Hard, especially if you're familiar with turn-based RPGs.

Does PS+ ever go on sale or have deals? My year is up October 7th and I need to renew. None of my friends who've had a 360 never paid more than $40 for a year of Live.

Can I find the same kind of deals for Plus?

Some retailers will have sales throughout the year, but the real deals occur on Black Friday.

Yea, I recall Sony & most retailers tend to offer a 12 month Plus sub for $30 around Black Friday/holiday season.

So what's the deal with Dragon's Crown? is it free on PS3 or just Vita? I bought the Vita version last year so I can't see the PS+ status.

Best deal is usually on Black Friday, I don't think there will be any sales on PS+ worthwhile before your year is up in Oct.

It is 'free' for PS+ users for both the PS3 and Vita but the store isn't fully updated yet (meaning, that while all the other games can be 'free', both versions of Dragons Crown aren't yet).

Maybe some impressions too? I wanna try it just to see what this fandom for the series is all about lol.

Will do. Almost done downloading. This is my third neptunia game after Victory and PP. I'm fairly neutral to the series. Don't love it or hate it

Oh, lvl 6 clubs/balls for HSG Vita. $0.99 for the clubs, $0.49 for the balls (as the other ones). Maybe I'll upgrade the ones I use with Kat (not that I really need to do so...)

edit: Metrico is up with the PS+ freeness on the Vita store.

Thanks for the advice i think im gonna do this.

It seems im in a buying spree mode I've just bought ninja gaiden sigma 2 plus and silent hill book of memories. ITs incredible how hyperbolic GAF is sometimes I'm really enjoying ninja gaiden plus despite it has slow downs. Looks great on the vita and the tag missions with all the waifus is actually great. Didn't try silent hill yet but I did try the demo. I was curious about the last patch seems to add a lot of improvement to the game. I did enjoy the demo even thou is a game that shares almost nothing with the original games. So next game I want is sonic all star racing. Alien shooter is coming to ps vita and is a game I liked very much from the early 2000s . I think having controls will make of this a great experience. I expect to see a price lower than 10 dollars.
