This is everyone at Game Spot now, sans Danny.

:/

It is? I could swear they have a much larger staff than that still, but my knowledge of their situation is quite limited. They still have a pretty large behind the scenes staff at least I think.

Not similar, just more video focused (so inevitably needs more personality) so it can survive. Still have distinctive styles.

So you mean 1 site focused on people with actual personalities and the site revolving around them. And the other site a carousel of changing people churning out a million clickbait articles like IGN or buzzfeed.

'cos thats what we already have.

There's a few more. There's that woman Mary who does some livestreams and perhaps more on the video editing and not editorial team.

A huge part of their traffic still comes from Google searches for reviews and articles about different stuff. So yeah, it'll probably stay pretty much the same but with a much leaner staff. Doing more with less, as the dumb saying goes.

Friend of the site Andy is still there at least.

Yeah Andy and some other video people are still there. The other editor I was missing is Jess McDonell, who I guess is their Chobot?

pretty sure chris was talking about it when I started the stream
That's surprising - I was being slightly facetious, didn't expect them to mention it at all.

Ouch, but I can't really disagree. That said, Danny is doing a lot to improve their video output, especially considering the limited personalities he's working with.

She does those 5 minute news segments, and live streams and stuff. And Mary is still there. It seems like no one of their video editors were fired.

I just started watching the Deadly Premonition endurance run. I've never played the game so I feel like I'm along for the ride along with Vinny and Jeff. I've only seen the P4 ER and I tried watching this one a while back but I stopped. This is amazing :lol I refuse to watch the Brad and Ryan run though because all Ryan content makes me sad :( I didn't even start going on Giantbomb until a few months after he died but whenever I stumble across Ryan content it bums me out :\

The way they show trailers/featurettes in their entirety while they ready guests is super weird and jarring to the tempo of the show.

Also, is Swapper spoilerable? It's in my Steam queue.

As someone who watched both when they went up, Vinny and Jeff is the way to go. So you're making the right choice regardless.

edit The Swapper is great. Everyone should play it!

I really don't like The Lobby. I want to like it, but the format doesn't work for me. The panel conversations feel somehow forced and overly formal, and those segments are always broken up with game trailers or other promotional videos, which always rubs me the wrong way. It's too bad because I like a lot of the (remaining) Gamespot staff, especially Danny and Kevin.

Can't recommend the Swapper enough!

edit: Dan actually got a movie reference, this is some twilight zone shit right here

Christ. Chris and this other guy are just killing me. I imagine they're not really in the happiest of moods, but the 'jokes' are so bad.

Ass to mouth.

Lobby should be just Danny vs Mary Kish is a random game every week for ever - would be better. Maybe just replay the Cannon Brawl match over and over again

Edit damnit chuck

I'd be down with that. Keep these two guys restricted to COD and Sony advertorial/'native advertising'.

it is possible that perhaps dan's persona is slightly exaggerated for entertainment purposes. after all, he loves the 'characters' aspect of pro wrestling.

I missed the smallest dog story because my wife started talking to me. I was trying to listen to her and Dan simultaneously and retained 0% of what was said by either of them.

I'm watching the Wii Sports Club QL right now, and I know we like to give Dan a lot of shit for being a grown man who seeming has never experienced common things, but Brad did not know what a "spare" was in bowling.

I bet Stephen Hawking doesn't know shit about bowling. Dan took Bowling in College. In college. God Bless America.

Is bowling ingrained into American culture so much that it's surprising to not know that? We have bowling in the UK, but if you were to do a poll, I bet less than half the population would know what a spare is.

I think it's unsporting to go after people for their blind spots, especially when they're opening up themselves for the sake of entertainment.
