Road Not Taken (Vita) was delayed because Scaleform support was dropped on Vita

I need to vent on this. I had to take a PS Store update on PS3 today before I could get on and see what's what. I saw one of the new features was that after I added something to my cart it showed me a list of games other people bought similar to mine. So I scroll down and crash. The PS3 PS Store seems to crash every 10 to 30 minutes (to be generous) if you're actively browsing it and it's been that way for a long time. I don't even know why they bother updating this thing. It's slow, it's laggy, it just clearly doesn't work how it was meant to.

The PS4 version of the store which looks and functions the same as the PS3 version works flawlessly, no surprise there. The Vita and PSP versions work perfectly well too. Obviously the PS3 can't handle this thing but we're too far along with this version for Sony to ever admit it sucks and change it back I suppose. When the PS3 had the same store layout that the PSP still has now it worked just fine. I don't know why they had to do that big overhaul (how long ago was it anyway) and try to make it into the Xbox Live Dashboard/Arcade simulator but it was a bad decision then and it still sucks now.

Every other version of the PS Store works but Sony is just going to leave the PS3 hobbled with this mess that seems to break more with every update.

I was waiting for Phantom Breaker on Vita and it's been delayed this week for the second week long delay in a row. There were many other delays before that apparently. Good thing I just found out about the game a short time ago. Add that to this weeks list of VitaDisappointment™.

Are you sure? I opened that image in a paint program and the dimension of the jaggies is 1 pixel, maybe excessive bloom + lack of AA + low res textures made it look worse than it really is, or maybe it's sub native res + some AA i dunno...

Thanks for the link. If I understood it correctly they are more or less admitting that they announced a wrong price and want to make up for it with giveaways?
That's what I'm trying to understand. Did they screwup the price in the submission process or is that the right price and they screwed up telling people otherwise on facebook and via PR.
Showing on the AU store under "Persona"

Also what the fuck is with these prices? Surely that's an error...
Nope, they're legit. They should be way high, but alas some developers still treat our digital PSP prices like the age when retail PSP releases were prominent here and everything went for $70. (mostly just Atlus games though)
Chaos Rings III Prequel Trilogy is up for pre-order on AmiAmi and there are lots of screenshots posted. Also, the genre is "Ultimate RPG" LOL.
That's one pretty Prequel Trilogy Ultimate RPG.

Fez is really a great game. It's a shame that so many people dismiss it entirely just because of Phil.

Words alone can't express how much I hated Fez. I think it's overrated garbage. A solid core concept but it's boring as hell, never goes anywhere interesting and the game completely lacks any kind of direction. It's a game that keeps you playing longer than it should on the assumption that maybe the game will stop being shit soon. Hey the core mechanic is cool. It's only a matter of time before things get interesting! Nope. I regret buying it, and not just because it became free on Plus a month later.

If it's the correct price and it's $12 in the US I'll be slightly upset.

its title version is prequel trilogy and its on vita

thats all I know

Thanks, Captain Obvious!

Hong Kong and thanks :). I heard the Hong Kong store is in English. Makes it easier to set up an account.

Yes, the PSN HK does have an english store front.

I dunno what you're aiming for, but do take note that Japan is not part of the Asian region. And don't be surprised if some JP games are not released in Asian region.

Did you get into the whole
codebreaking thing?
I can see how the core mechanic of rotating the world would make you think so, but the deceptive thing about Fez is that that isn't the core mechanic.

Table Top Racing is now available on the EU stores for 5.99€

Edit: A 20% discount for PS+ has been added, that puts the game at 4.79€

Kinda strange thing happened with Metrico:

After I chose the third option, all the other options were "unlocked" as well as you can see. Now I'm downloading the second one, I wonder if it's the full game without expiring date

EDIT: Checked on the sen website and it has an expiring date

Hong Kong management has not seperated itself from the rest of Asia. I don't have a TW account, but you can visit their respective PS+ page.

As for the people asking to get a "different" PS+ offerings per region on Asia due to the language version mixes, that is not likely to happen. It's less about "culture", and more from a business/efficiency standpoint.

Having separate PS+ only increases work for them with minimal benefits. Does anyone even have a statistics of how many console gamers there are in Asian countries?

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that majority of the R3 is centralized in Hong Kong due to their free trade port, with few exceptions like Korean-only games.

Also, the fact that sometimes only one language gets there reflects who has the publishing rights for those language(and region?). Both publishers must be in agreement if you want "all" languages to be there. There're also release time discrepancies between version releases. You can't expect them to put the english version of Mind Zero up on PS+ when it was just released about 2 months ago. If any publisher did that, you can expect me to never buy from their stuff at launch and wait a year before even think of buying.* And I'd ask my friends and people in my circle to do the same.

This is a different case from buying an old game, and it was put up on PS+ the following week.

Just so you know, there are still Asian countries that Sony (as Playstation) officially recognizes but doesn't have their own store. Some countries aren't "big enough" to have such dedicated content for them.

It shouldn't be a wonder why Japan has their own store. Right...?

on the Mind/Zero bit, I'm not expecting the English version to be up on PS+ so soon considering the game is only released in English recently.. (though some English games like SAO are available in Singapore, HK etc.. when it's still not in NA..)

no. The R3 region is big but I don't think it's all focused in Hong Kong. People underestimate the gaming communities in Asia and how diverse Asia can be.

Places like Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines have big gaming communities and we play mostly English titles (because we speak and write proficiently in English too). I actually think there's more sense to regroup some of these R3 countries as part of R1/NA.

I'm not asking for a separate PS+ for each of the countries. I think customers in these places would be better served with a separate PS+ that is more similar to the R1/R2 regions (English games etc)

EDIT: and console gaming is still a thing in Singapore and parts of Asia - Sony has complete domination in this part of the world for sure.

Same here, screws us PAL gamers over completely with conversions. No doubt the high price will put a bunch of people off of buying until a sale too.

Senran Kagura SV and BA are coming to Europe and Australia Q3 2014 dd only

That's unfortunate but at least we can import retail unlike with the 3DS.

I noticed the same thing while going to download it on the webstore, for once I assumed they allowed you to download the game by buying it even if you have a PS+ sub to own it permanently but it seems not.

Metrico is a pretty fun puzzle platformer. Pretty light on puzzle, enough to be fun. ONly 2 worlds in so far. Slowdown is my only complaint.

Really not liking the Chaos Rings III art style at all. It looks like another "me-too" generic anime game.

Pretty good for a phone game though.

Shinovi Versus digital only...? So now the US gets it physical and Europe get it digital. What

Physical is a limited print run by the lovely XSeed, not a standard "actually in stores" thing that I'm aware of. Jealous of the EU boxart of SK1. If the cart weren't useless to me I'd be tempted to import for the absurdity.

Weird, PS+ games on PS3 used to do this with a separate not PS+ version, I thought they killed that UI because it was super confusing.

US Vita GAF, can you check your download list to see if SCEA fucked up and accidently made all PSX and PSP games Vita compatible?

Slightly miffed, I just dropped like $85 on digital Dynasty Warriors 8 XCE and now its $40 =\

Great to see some price drops though!

The Hyperdimension Neptunia games are pretty bad. I strongly discourage anyone from buying them just because of the screenshots in this thread.

With that said, the strategy RPG spinoff that just got released in Japan looks pretty decent. Hopefully it will be announced for localization soon.

In what way are the screenshots in this thread misleading in any way? It is a colorful JRPG with silly writing and cute girls. I doubt anyone viewing the images posted is entirely misinformed on what sort of game it is, it hardly hides the fact that it's some light silly fun and if you're expecting Hardcore McGrit EpicStoryTale you're in for a bad time.

I'd disagree, but only if one is able to put up with some (major) gameplay faults in favour of great writing.

There's a few annoyances in Victory's combat left, but ReBirth is nep 1 with combat from Victory which removes the majority of gameplay faults. My main problems were some regenning health enemies, the fact that the last player character is unlocked 75% of the way through the story and that 100%ing the game/getting all trophies can be a pain in the butt.

guys, I imported a physical US copy of muramasa rebirth, now I want to play the DLC but my PSN acc is for EU. anyone know if the EU dlc works with a US copy? I read that Region 1 (US) and Region 3 (Asia?) are compatible, does the same apply for Region 1 and Region 4?

^Bored at work and just wishfully hoping they fucked up again ^^;

Just checked. No, unfortunately.

Thanks for checking mate. I am a patient fellow, as patient as the turtle
but I still would not pay full price for late pizza
