PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Man I am really enjoying Dynasty Warriors 8 on the Vita. Wish the DLC wasn't so hideously overpriced, there's so much of it too.

Why do you need a second card exactly? You can swap cards of the same account just by turning off the Vita, physically swapping the card and turn it back on.

Did Sony patch so that swapping cards doesn't reset your backgrounds and bubbles?

If not then that's why some people (myself included) have an issue with swapping cards.

I swapped cards to test something, I don't think my bubbles moved (I have everything set in folders on one card). Dunno about backgrounds, I actually still need to put backgrounds/lockscreens on my Vita.

Also I would love to have Half-Minute Hero 2 on Vita. I've been waiting for a discount on the first one, but I may have to bite soon. Great game.

Sword Art Online can't come soon enough.
You are in for a treat. All I have been doing with my Vita is to play that game. Best 60$ I've ever spent this year.
(although I hesistated at first since I've missed some pretty good sales just to buy it at week one.)

That said those who can't stand lengthy JRPGs should stay away from this one.

It's still at $20?? I haven't looked in a while, but that explains why I haven't picked it up.

No, it's $10. For me, it's $20 too low, since I think it'd still be worth it for $30.

Welp... I'm baffled to say the least.

Can someone explain the dark voodoo magic behind this:

I'm on a crappy broadband line that maxes out at ~300kb/s,

So how on earth was I able to download Wolfenstein TNO, ~45gb and a handful of other games for a total of roughly ~60gb over last night in one go?

Here I was expecting leaving my ps4 on for weeks to get all of that...

Are things compressed to 99% or what :P?

Danganronpa is sooooo good, that I am now suffering from a nasty neck ache from playing my Vita too much.

I'm pretty sure it now keeps bubble placement, BUT not if you factory reset. So if both cards use the same PSN account, you're fine.

does no one else do analog stick mods :(
I tend to stick to the analog covers, versus mods. The packs I got had 6 different covers, so if I get tired of what I have I can switch them out. Haven't changed from my first choice yet, they are xb360ish, except due to the small size they are barely concave, and more flat. But they work wonders..I've heard great things about these BlueCell ones, but that was a while ago. At least the BlueCells come with matching cover sets...first time I've seen those back in stock in a looooong time. Like a year, or longer.

Ok guys I'm stupid. I had Quantum Conundrum installed on my PS3 for over a year but never even launched. Heck, I didn't even know what it looked like until this morning, when I decided to launch that mysterious game...what. A physic based 3d puzzle game.

How did I miss a game like this, which has been under my nose for over a year?

Such an amazing game. It even has Q as the voice over!

A lot of games say they are downloading say 45 gigs on the Notifications/download screen but it actually only downloads about 3-4 gigs and it looks like the game is done. It continues to download the rest in the background, and if you get too far in the game it will tell you that you need to wait for the rest to download.

I don't think there is any way to see the "background download" progress unless the game itself will let you know while it's running

Hal Minute Hero 2... I know that people adore it but i would have preferred something else honestly :\

Totally forgot about Road Not Taken. Looks like a cross between Tricky Kick and and Tripple Town.
Can't wait to try it out tonight.

I'm trying to be frugal this month..

I think if you go to the Hard Drive Management (or whatever it's called) and look at the space that game takes up, it says something like XX / 45 GB, letting you know the progress. It's the only way I could tell how much of Injustice: GAU was downloaded.

Holy shit, I completely forgot about Infamous: First Light.

I'm so thankful that it's standalone, as my copy is from the U.S. $32 on Amazon, as opposed to $70+ is a no brainer.

So that recent Vita Software update was just Stability....just updated and didn't see any notes.

EDIT: Nevermind it was just stability....was kinda wishing for more.

How is Ridge Racer for Vita if I grab the ultimate edition? Is it as good as the PSP games?

If you can get it cheap, it's ok. I bought the ultimate edition on discount and it's fun for some quick races. Still missing a lot of content but much better than the horrible micro transactions version as it was released as.

It's hard, isn't it?

hmm the thing is I remember that someone posted a mod where you had to like mesh/stick two things together. hmmm

Thanks, guess I'll wait for a sale then.

Did you check in your download list if you have several versions? I remember this happening when I got Sly 4, and then I noticed I had several different language versions in my download list.

Only one version in my Library on the PS4 and in the download list on the web version; the german one. However, I noticed that if I bring up the store page for the game in the webstore, there is an option to "Choose version" and 2 different links displayed. They both go to the german version, but there seems like that might have been intended to let you pick the version for your region.

Anyway, decided to keep it and enjoy it. Still think Sony should label it properly.

I don't care about Disney Infinity 2.0, but i saw the Aladdin/Jasmine trailer and i didn't see the PSVita logo, isn't DI2 coming to Vita?

There is some special version coming to PlayStation TV.
Wait can stuff come to pstv and not vita? Is that possible or just a marketing thing?

It's hard but neat. It's a rogue like, so if you need to, abandoning a kid or two is preferable to dying

Yeah but IIRC the limited edition contains artworks from the previous games so that is probably the reason.

That LE is exclusive to SE's webstore and isn't even mentioned on the game's site right now.

Not much to say when neither SQEX, 4gamer, famitsu are mentioning anything else either. Even the official page says nothing. At least the copyright on their official page mentions the that the copyright for the Vita is 2010-2012, 2014 which I think already has been mentioned.

The second Famitsu article teased that the Vita release will be different in some way ...

There is some special version coming to PlayStation TV.

It's coming to both PSTV and Vita. The only thing "special" about it is that it's an early 2015 release on Vita. DI on these machines will just be a port of the PS3 game.

Considering both are the same hardware wise (I think?), Disney Infinity 2.0 SHOULD also come to the Vita as well as the PlayStation TV. I guess they are just heavily pushing the PlayStation TV version (same with Minecraft whenever that comes) as a way to sell the device to younger audiences. Not a bad move (notiby if they have a Disney Infinity PS TV bundle for 150 or a Minecraft Bundle for 120) but not the smartest one in the long run.

I say that due to the Vita being the home largely for JP and Indie games, not the type of games that younger gamers most likely would be interested in. That is largely the reasoning behind Disney Infinity coming to Vita; easy game to port (I think :l...) and one that will get a lot of people coming to.

I'm just wondering how you use the figures with the Vita; I can see it work with PS TV (as using the base with a TV works well) but I don't know about a portable system like the Vita. Maybe they will make it work like how it does in the 3DS Skylanders games (where you register 3-4 figures to use, then the games 'saves' them into the game until you sync them back to the figures when you want to stop playing).

That's a marketing plan that makes sense and does appear to be what they're doing (the first bundle is with the Lego the Movie: Videogame). Sell it to the kids with kids games and parents will buy it for the set-top box functionality?

Pains me to say I already played it on PC before it was ever announced for Vita.

I see I was going to give them a couple of years to make a vita version, and so they did. it was the same with rogue legacy, don't starve, frozen synapse, childbof light, fez, limbo, dust force, and the walking dead. And I'm still hoping for wolf among us, valiant hearts, transistor, gone home, xcom, KRZ etc. ;)

The vita is fantastic!

Looking at this that way, guess that works out :l. I mean, if they get the pricing down to a inexpensive level, have lots of streaming apps pre-instailled, and have many Vita games added to the compatibility list (getting the Sly and Ratchet Collections working with PS TV for example; maybe even fixing the Jak Collection via patch to make that work with PS TV) then I can see the device being a modest success :).

The issue is that unlike Nintendo consoles which are flooded with games that appeal to everyone, the Vita only has a few that does that. Off the top of my head...Hot Shots, Gravity Rush, LBP Vita, Tearaway, Sly Collection + Sly 4, Ratchet Collection, the Lego games, Rayman Origins/Legends, Child of Light, and the upcoming ones (DI:2.0 Edition, Minecraft, ect). Now that I think of that, there are much more kid-friendly games then I expected to be XD. I guess the PS TV can be a hit for kids :).

Rise is impossible to resist
I dropped Yukiko like a big bag of bricks the same way too. Relationship starting and all.
Rise just throws herself at you. It's like playing a game on easy mode.
Nothing wrong with a girl that knows what she wants.

Does anyone have a time measure on how long sphere grinding to finish out the Platinum in FFX takes? I've done like 3 hours already...

I guess this is more of a dev question, but is there a reason developers don't seem to do cross save or remote play properly?

Entwined and Doki Doki Universe have automated cross-save, most other implimentations are either auto-download only (with prompt) or manual for both upload/download, which makes device switching far more complicated, as I need both devices at the ready to switch saves.

And with remote play, why don't games with cursors let you touch things directly when using vita remote play? For instance, in Stick It To The Man, vita touchscreen just mimics the touchpad, moves the cursor, extremely inaccurate. Worse than analog, IMO. But Child of Light lets you touch a spot on the Vita and the cursor instantly goes to where you tap, like on a phone. I've seen this even for games with a Vita version that does 1:1 touch like that.

Good man

You still haven't finished? ಠ_ಠ

Rise and Yukiko are both bags of bricks compared to Naoto

Hmm should I get Front Mission 3 for 3$. I have a huge backlog already but I have fond memories of the game and its fake internet thing.

This thread reminds me of some posters' comments in the thread that shall not be named. People were saying you could get stuck in waifu wars garbage even if the thread had nothing to do with it. Guess they were right.
