PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Rise and Yukiko are both bags of bricks compared to Naoto

Kanji clearly has a thing for Naoto. I can't get in the way of that ;__;

Hmm should I get Front Mission 3 for 3$. I have a huge backlog already but I have fond memories of the game and its fake internet thing.

This thread reminds me of some posters' comments in the thread that shall not be named. People were saying you could get stuck in waifu wars garbage even if the thread had nothing to do with it. Guess they were right.

Ok...Resident Evil 1-3, or The Swapper? Playing on Vita.

I'm guessing The Swapper will be in a sale or PS Plus in a few months time...

Also, has anyone ever done a Vita button mod? I know that sounds odd, but mine are really clicky. Fine at home, but I'm paranoid that on the train all people can hear is CLICK CLICK CLICK as I stab that massive eyeball in Rogue Legacy. I wish I could make them quieter.

Good man
You still haven't finished? ಠ_ಠ
It's sooooooooooooo boring. I have better things to do. Even the most mundane of shows is more interesting. I'd rather do Lightning Dodging Challenge again.

Basically all the girls are better than Yukiko. "I don't know what I want to do with my life or relationships and my biggest redeeming quality is that I could pass for nice". She's boring.

I can't wait for Persona 5 and a new round of Waifu Wars.

Guys, Dissidia is sooooo good. Probably the best game on sale.

Watch the giant bomb persona 4 endurance run while you grind. I'm sure it'll make it much more tolerable :lol

The only reason people like Yukiko is because there are no better choices at the time.

Dissidia is pretty amazing.

Can't wait until tomorrow so I can buy Duodecim. I put gobs of time into Dissidia, and have always wanted Duodecim. I always miss these FF sales....but not this time...

Dissidia impressed me beyond what I thought was capable on a PSP. It still has some of the best 3d battles I've ever played, in any 3d battle/fighting game. Need PS4 Sequel, NOW...

Any idea how long P3: Portable will be on sale for $5?

I probably won't be playing it until december/january if I pick it up, should I still get it? Or wait until that time frame to download it?

If only Dissidia Duodecim had online play... If there was ever a game that I would like to see SE release in HD on PSN with online play, this would be it.

Are you in NA PSN? I only recall it going on sale once already (I think :l), so this is the second time that happened. I would say to get it when you ever have the chance (as Altus almost always has the Persona games on sale every other week), but it is always best to be safe and just get it :).

If you loved Persona 4 Golden, then you will have a blast with Persona 3 Portable :D. I played the game right after my second/third run of Persona 4 Golden and I still had a blast with it :). I whole heartedly recommend you get it now; you can always play it latter on when you get the chance :D.

For the rest of the week. It goes on sale pretty often but I'm pretty sure this is only the second time it has been $5. It was $5 back in May as well.

Edit: It normally goes on sale for $10. Even after it went on sale for $5 in may I'm pretty sure it went on sale again for $10 a few times

Finished swapper. Fun but quite short. I'd have preferred if you weren't required to collect everything - I got stuck on one room for ages and had to resort to a walkthrough (thank you PS4 double tap PS button to flip back and forth between games and apps).

Btw, does it matter what you do at the end? I chose one path but just curious if it makes any difference?

Hey, she looks kind of hot in that picture, but...

This. Kanji is your bro. You don't do that to your bro's girl.

Her redeeming quality is that she has a hot spring. Free hot spring passes are tempting, but you're obviously getting them anyway waifing her best friend, so it was an easy choice :P

I can't wait for Persona 5

Yes. It's probably the last game I'm going to buy at full price for my PS3.

Unless Bamco is stupid and decides to release Tales of Zestiria just on PS3 in the West. Which wouldn't make sense in Summer 2015, especially when the series is getting increased mindshare lately.

There are two entirely different
entirely grim
endings. Just look the other up on youtube, if it's like the PC version there's no easy way to see the other without completely replaying the game.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask. But I grabbed Muramasa Rebirth w/ PS + and have been playing it non-stop. I absolutely love it! But I was wondering, on easiest difficulty setting, do enemies scale? I kind of noticed my level was too low in the story, so I started to grind it out. Now I'm at a more comfortable level. But before I go any further, should I stop? If enemies scale, and my current forge swords aren't up to my level, then that would make me weaker.

So just curious. Thanks for the help guys.

I didn't notice P3P was on sale until I saw your post, so thanks. I don't own a Vita yet, but I'm planning on getting one pretty soon and I definitely would like to finally play P3P on it.

I didn't grind at all and had no problem finishing it on a higher difficulty than that - if you took some extra time to grind, you should have no problems.

Yeah, I'm in a good spot now. I was just wondering if it would be a mistake to grind for another 30 min, and jump 10 more levels as a cushion. The problem is, if enemy's scale 1:1 with my character, that means my current swords are going to be weaker then them. And since you can't forge swords until you beat bosses (or that's how you get a lot of what you need), that means leveling up too far ahead could really fuck you over.

So that's why I was asking.

Yep, I'm in NA. I actually haven't played P4:Golden yet, I'm staying away from addicting games until after december lol.

But thanks for the quick response guys, I appreciate it.

So vita was never dead and this month comes with japanese freaky games like neptunia 1 remake and akibas trip. I want both of those games never played neptunia but the idea of the game is nuts and I like it . is it a long game?

Is either Knights in the Nightmare or Yggdra Union worth the $5 they are running for?

Yggdra has permadeath (somewhat easily avoided), no grinding/revisiting, and easily, permanantly missable items. I enjoyed my time with it but got stuck on one level and there's no real escape. And if you don't use a guide from day 1 there's this constant dread that you're not "playing right". Shame because the combat system is pretty cool for an SRPG.

Also wanna know this for sure, lots of stuff incoming.

The Neptunia RPGs are all easily 20 hours+, with new game + and multiple endings in Neptunia Mk2 and Victory (haven't played the first). How Long To Beat pegs 1 and Victory at over 40, Mk2 at over 20. They're JRPGs after all. Lots of extras to do for platinum/min maxing.

Meh I don't bother with the trophies or new game + stuff anyway. I have never played a Neptunia game, I'm getting it to check out why some people love the series so much aha.

Might still be worth a couple separate saves to check out the alternate endings. The silly story/humor is a big draw. Also I dunno about 1, but Mk 2 and Victory have a chapter or more's worth of content if you satisfy True End conditions, and Victory ends a chapter or more early if you get the bad end. Mk2 also has...not quite a bad end, but an uncharacteristically grim NG+ only ending. Victory did not repeat this. MK2's endings are kinda a pain in the ass, but I enjoyed getting all 3 in Victory.

How is the gameplay/features? I was really let down with Hyperdimension Neptunia PP. It felt lackluster (just in terms of what you could actually do). Is this RPG title..a bit better with regards to content, and gameplay? I'm not expecting a masterpiece or anything, I get what the titles are supposed to be. But I do feel PP was a pretty poor game.

I'm interested in Akiba though. I hope that's good.

Half Minute Hero 2
I'll be stupefied if me putting off getting HMH2 actually resulted in me being able to just get it for Vita(/PSP?) instead.

But the translation work IS done, and only a minority really REALLY expect/demand a physical release for something like that anyway.

Sounds like even Neptunia fans don't like PP very much, and it's certainly not in the style of the other games.

I feel the combat in Victory is pretty fun, you can make your own chain of 3 melee attacks with varying damage, guard break, Action Point cost, elemental and status effects, target multiple enemies based on AOE and positioning of your character, power up into CPU form to do more damage at the cost of constantly draining SP, or of course just use fairly standard skills like buffs and stuff.

Combat is sort of Quest 64 like in that it's turn based with a visible AOE and you move around your character to change where the AOE will hit, adds a tactical element to it. I would honestly say I enjoy it more than most JRPG turn based combat because I've gotten pretty damn tired of casting Fire and googling elemental weaknesses for foes as 90% of combat.

Speaking of features, starting with Victory the menu options got a lot better, though I loathe how they hide characters from you for much of the story, especially annoying in Mk2 where every other chapter you'll gain/lose party members for a while. Plenty of sidequests and crap, nothing super interesting in them beyond excuses to collect stuff, kill monsters, get good gear.

I think I'll give a look to that video. Wonder why they're doing this. Maybe a PS4 Souls collection is on the way?

The only reason I can think of is because they're going to be showing off Bloodborne at Gamescom. Demon's is the only PS exclusive Souls game so I guess they're opting to show that one?

I bought PP on a whim (and it was my first entry into the series). Guess I picked a bad game to first jump into the series. Lol I do put the blame on myself, for jumping into something on a whim. I think I'll give this game a shot though, thanks for the impression.

And don't worry, if I don't end up liking it, I won't care. I'm always down to try new things, and I'm actually pretty easy to please (as long as it's fun, and has some decent gameplay) i'll be happy.

Yeah I haven't played PP, seems disappointing. I'll get it when it's cheap just so I have a full collection I guess. More interested in the Neptunia U musou game though.

Thanatophobia GET!
Possibly one of my hardest gaming achievments but the moment I killed the endboss was just extremely satisfying.

Everybody should buy Rogue Legacy a fantastic game and well worth the price.

It's crazy that Demon's Souls in that twitch still looks so much better than Dark Souls 1 & 2... dat single-platform optimization

Talking to someone in the stream about how PS4 is the most expensive Vita accessory ever... way more expensive than memory cards. It's like having a Sega Nomad and buying a 32X and Sega CD for it.

I'm about 30 hrs into Persona 4 right now (and loving all of it). Going to pick up P3P now because 5$ and I want to play it after P4. Should I be bothering with P1 and/or P2?

Probably is that.

what is there to collect

they're just prepping people for demon's souls two fps vita edition's announcement at gamesock

Demon's Souls: Ocarina of Time
