PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

You are talking about a very likely Vita version of the Ico Collection right? I could see Ico running well on Vita at native res no issue :D. But SotC.....I can see the game running at 10FPS XD! If they got Bluepoint to make the port like they did on PS3, then the game will run perfect; they would use there own engine and they already did wonders with the Vita already (PS All Stars runs at a perfect 60FPS with native resolution and visuals almost 1 to 1 with the PS3 version + Armpature was able to use Bluepoint's engine for the Vita port of MGS Collection and that runs great on Vita :D).

I hope this very likely port will run well; these games are classics, so they deserve to be treated as such.

very likely?

very likely?

Well, they have ported most of the first party PS2 HD collections from PS3 to PS Vita by now. Ico/SoTC is probably last on their list if it's on it at all of course. Though I can't think of any other PS2 HD collections they even have out there.

What's up, guys?

What'd I miss? Y'know, other than Itachi turning into Toto, apparently?

anyone played grand knight history here?
after getting deep into dragons crown again I'm thinking about starting this game. I heard the game is mainly made for the multiplayer, so is it even worth it to play singleplayer only? how many hours (of fun/challenge) will I get out of the singleplayer?

Ico/SoTC is the last remaining SCE PS3 collection without a Vita port. I still think they should do Ape Escape, Dark Cloud and Getaway releases.

If they made an Ape Escape collection I would be on that so fast.

Haven't played an Ape Escape game since PS1 era, but I loved it so much.

KZ HD or gow origin collection is more likely than ico.

but none of it will happen since because reasons

Alright! Finally best Persona 4 Golden (on normal) and pretty certain I didn't get the true ending! What difficulty should I play on in order to get the remaining trophies (most of them) and the true ending? I was thinking easy so I could breeze through the dungeons but I'm not certain how that affects Rissette's trophy.

Thanks!

Oh god..I just realized I've been a complete idiot..had everything on default settings so my PS4 has been on NAT type 3 for almost a year..

Anyone else pre order Assassin's Creed Unity Gold and Dragon Age Bundle see a Pre-Order button show up in their Library? It seems like the Icons for the core game is missing and the library isn't recognizing the core game as a part of the bundle.

I can verify that billing went through for the pre order. And the PSN store page shows the pre-orders as flagged. Both were bought directly from a PS4, and not through a browser.

I thought the delay to Dragon Age might have screwed something up with the pre-order, but both bundles are behaving the same way. The core game shows up with a pre order button and price tag under library, while all the bundled addons are queued to download.

It seems like the Library links for the pre-load are kind of broken for certain bundles. It recognizes the extra DLC but not the core game, or it's linked to the core game somehow but it's not flagged to be a part of the bundle.

Odds are it's just how the bundle and the single/core game are flagged in the system, but it's a bit troubling to see a price tag and a pre-order button show up under Library when I've already pre-ordered.

It's just really weird how it's set up in the library. I suspect it's just a linking / cosmetic problem - I just checked the "set auto download" option and both core games show up in that list. The problem is that pre-order button under my library is in fact a live one though. It seems to be pointed at the core game only listing in the PSN store.

And - never mind again. That buy button shows up for a disc based game as well MLB 2k14, maybe I just haven't noticed it (I've been on a digital only warframe/ KZ coop kick lately). For a digital game it's not there if it detects that your PSN account is flagged for it.

A lot of games say they are downloading say 45 gigs on the Notifications/download screen but it actually only downloads about 3-4 gigs and it looks like the game is done. It continues to download the rest in the background, and if you get too far in the game it will tell you that you need to wait for the rest to download.

I don't think there is any way to see the "background download" progress unless the game itself will let you know while it's running

Yessiree! You were absolutely right. Checked how much space the game actually took up and it shoved barely 10/45 gb...

Good to know to, just because a download is marked as "complete" doesn't mean it actually is.

About to get my first retail game digitally on my PS4 in a couple weeks (Diablo 3 UEE). Anybody know if this one supports preloading? And anything really different about getting a game digitally? Can I expect the console to be a bit quieter or anything like that?

Thanks guys, just found it.

It didn't show up when I searched for Disgaea on its own, only when I searched for DISGAEA2 specifically.

Ape escape is on the vita store. Can't remember if it is the PSOne or PSP version but I have it on my vita.
That's the PSP version. Which reminds me, does the game experience slowdown at the beach still? I remember that being pretty egregious on my PSP unless I upped the clockspeed to 333MHz.

If we stretch and consider the stand-alone remasters, there are Killzone and Ratchet Gladiator HD too.

Oh please no more terrible PS2 HD remasters from Sony, is it possible that Sony is not able to create a cheap but addicting game like Rogue Legacy for Vita? I would prefer it to every PS2 HD remaster.

Anyway i hope that we will see some awesome old Sierra game to Vita.

Hmmm FFX/X2 HD collection is on sale for $20 on vita though I already beat FFX HD on PS3 already. Idk if its worth getting only to play FFX-2 on vita though I would like to try out the cross save feature.

Yes diablo 3 supports preloading. What's different about digital? Uhhh, other than you don't get a disc? Digital has many benefits like convenience, home midnight release and it's cheaper if you have a Sony rewards card. But other than that, it's the same game.

How do you save your PSP and PS1 saves from the Vita when you are switching accounts and formatting memory cards? Got some games from the US store and want to try them out.

Played a few minutes of Table Top Racing today...

Felt insulted playing it to be honest. Angry birds/ios 3 star nonsense after each mini-level.

Seemed reasonably fun otherwise, looked and ran well...will try and spend more time with it tonight but mergGh.

Looking forward to checking out Metrico.

Good to know to, just because a download is marked as "complete" doesn't mean it actually is.

If you press the options button when you have the game selected at the main menu there is an option for information. If you click this you can see the total download and how much is remaining.

I made a devastating, stupid mistake last night and I need Vita-Gaf's pity.

I accidentally deleted my Persona 4 Golden save. 50 hours in. At the last dungeon.

No PS+ backup (assumed they were like PS3/PS4 and automatic). No way to restore a deleted file. No backup on my PS3.

The only reason to not go digital is if you re-sell your games or if you're a big fan of certain IP and you want to add it to your retail collection.

Bought Dynasty Warrios 8 complete edition on Vita and.... Dear lord them FPS drops <_< should've known better.
Doesn't bother me at all tbh.

I've been glued to the game since I bought it the other day. Just finished the Wei story (Historical and Hypothetical) and started on the Wu. Haven't played a DW game since the PS2 era and even then I rarely knew what I was doing in them. Having a blast with this one.

I mean, it'd be better without the framerate drops. But it doesn't ruin the game for me. And at half price it was a steal, definitely worth the price.

Sooo tempted. I might get the PS4 version instead and remote-play it. Unless there's something I want more on next week's Vita sale.

There are so many Vita games I want.

Dark Cloud Collection (maybe with Rouge Galaxy too?) would be fantastic, day one for me. Looks great in PCSX2 as is, but remove the draw distance fog and I'll gladly play on PS3 or Vita instead even if it isn't 1080p with MSAA

You are in for a treat. All I have been doing with my Vita is to play that game. Best 60$ I've ever spent this year.
(although I hesistated at first since I've missed some pretty good sales just to buy it at week one.)

That said those who can't stand lengthy JRPGs should stay away from this one.

Would you recommend it to someone who loves RPGs but doesn't know crap about the series?

Fuuuuck. That is a downright tragedy.

I'd just watch the ending on YouTube and leave the game alone for a while if i were you.

From the Sword Art Online - Hollow Fragment Thread:

I'm the European CM! I'll have info for the European price but not the other countries.

Which will be: 39.99 euros. Sounds like a fair price to me but, you know, people are never happy :P
No new info concerning the patch, but I promise your patience will be rewarded soon! (disclaimer: this is not confirmation of getting or not getting it).
EDIT: so sorry for that double post...

39.99 Euros with no promise of the huge DLC patch.

Please buy it, I want the translation in the US/EU version.

Doesn't help you now, but Content Manager or something lets you bulk set games to PS+ auto backup. I hate how the Vita does PS+ backup. Took them 3 consoles to learn to make backup the default.

Speaking of P4G save data, I just noticed that the Japanese version saves to the game card itself, whereas the English version uses the memory card for saving data. When you try to delete the bubble for each without a game inserted,
You can use the same save file on a different Vita and account, but you can't earn trophies. I'm curious how many other games are like this.

Edit: Top of page recommendation- Get Akiba's Trip and Phantom Breaker Battleground (crossing fingers) on Tuesday.
