PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

BigFest officially announced for PS3 and PS4 too, italian PSBlog announced it and then took down the page.

lol @ PSVista

It was pretty obvious this was multiplatform as the reveal screens of the game had platforms mentioned along with the names in the friends list. Also a niche game about niche artists on a nice platform was never gonna work.

Wow so Gamescom really had slim pickings last year as this and murasaki were the only new revealed games. If we get no new games announcements it will be obvious sony is done with vita development.

Back in Hong Kong and finally got it.

Edit: been playing P4G on my travels and so far put in 47 hours. I've not out that many hours into a single game for a decade or more. And just picked up P3P thanks to this thread.

Rise sure is temping but I'm going to try to be strong and stick with Chie

I made a devastating, stupid mistake last night and I need Vita-Gaf's pity.

I accidentally deleted my Persona 4 Golden save. 50 hours in. At the last dungeon.

No PS+ backup (assumed they were like PS3/PS4 and automatic). No way to restore a deleted file. No backup on my PS3.
Dang man, that hurts. If you feel like getting there again...easy mode and the fast forwarding should help some...but it doesn't ease the pain..

So Castlevania X chronicles is finally available on psn eu. Was going to buy it for my Vita. Then I found this where someone asked about game from Konami Europe.

http://community.eu.playstation.com...Dracula-X-Chronicles-PSN-Europe/td-p/21922099

I can see from your e-mail that you would like to know why the game Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is only available for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and not the PS Vita in PlayStation Store in Europe, even though it is available for PS Vita in the PlayStation Store in the US. I have asked my supervisor about this, and have been informed that this is simply a marketing decision taken by SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe), which is different from the marketing decisions taken by SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America), and that unfortunately there is nothing that we can do about this.

Great job SCEE.

Fuuuuck. That is a downright tragedy.

I'd just watch the ending on YouTube and leave the game alone for a while if i were you.

It's tempting. I work on the road a lot these days and fly, too, so maybe I should just power through it again and play it differently. Different relationships, different jobs, etc. Treat it like a second playthrough.

That, or just play OlliOlli and Rogue Legacy for a while. Maybe finally start FFX-HD.

Basically, it was late last night in my hotel room and I wanted to look through some update history on my games. I held on the Persona 4 Golden bubble, accidentally hit delete, and tapped "No" super quickly, impulsively assuming "No" would mean "Don't delete." I then checked my PS+ saves to realize they weren't automatically updating nightly (specifically my P4G save).

If there is any way to crack a save onto my Vita, I'd be all for it.

Europe not like Castlevania or something? Kind of mind-boggling that SCEE would go down that route, although something I'd expect from SCEA.

Also reminds me that I still need to beat it...

Speaking of P4G save data, I just noticed that the Japanese version saves to the game card itself, whereas the English version uses the memory card for saving data. When you try to delete the bubble for each without a game inserted,

You can use the same save file on a different Vita and account, but you can't earn trophies. I'm curious how many other games are like this.

The two that I know of are Touch My Katamari and Muramasa Rebirth. I think Uncharted GA is also like this.

It would be interesting to make a list of retail Vita games that don't touch the memory card. Maybe someone has already started one?

The "marketing decision" appears to be that SCEE is done with putting PSP games on the Vita store. The last one compatible on the EU store was Sweet Fuse over a year ago.

Isn't that already obvious? Yoshida said we should expect fewer first-party games. When Vita's original first-party game amount is already close to 0, well ...

I dated Chie first time, but you guys seem to hate that idea. Is it purely subjective or does Rise come with better perks?

Don't listen to them, max the social links with all the girls, save the day before
San Valentine
and reload to see what happens with each girl.

Maybe that was why you deleted your first save, to get a chance to only date Rise. You don't get any perks by dating anyone, only the social link level matters

Hmm, I wonder what the situation is with XSEEDs upcoming PSP games. What a waste it would be if they were to be PSP only.

No, you have better taste than all that people Xd

Jokes aside, it's doesn't matter friendzoning or waifing people, the important thing is maxing SL of your party members in order to get some boosts.

It's been a while since I last posted an update on Mind Zero. I've finished phase 6 and I'm still enjoying it. But even on easy I notice some big difficulty spikes on bosses which is quite annoying.
It's subjective.

And everyone picking Rise is objectively wrong.
You're objectively wrong!
Speak for yourself, Naoto wears the legendary
female school uniform
on Xmas.

But she's not Rise, so no one cares.

Yeah, if Trails in the Sky SC isn't available on Vita in EU I'll be pretty pissed

That's actually a good question.. I am getting a bit worried now tbh.
Guess we'll have to wait until Brandish and Trails SC are officially announced for the EU (IIRC that hasn't happened yet (?))

Can you at least sideload it from a PS3?

There's already been reports that you can't.

What determines whether you can do it or not? Feels like they have to actively keep games from being transferred from PS3 to Vita. I'm just happy I got MGS: Portable Ops on Vita during the Glorious Glitch Week of 2014, but damn it I hate fucking licensing issues.

The only way to get games on the vita is:
1. Directly from the vita store (so games not compatible are not listed)
2. Pushing downloads fro webstore (same as above)
3. Copy from PS3. In this case the ps3 needs to be signed in for copying the data and it checks with the online compatibility database whether the game is allowed to be copied or not. Hence some ps1/psp bubbles appear and some do not.

So unless someone hacks the ps3 or vita itself soon there is no way to get those games on the vita.

Wow, SCEE taking cues from SCEA?
At least they're giving you reasons for it -- we all know it's possible to load any game we want on there, it's just Sony getting in the way for whatever reason (proven by that mistake with the store update).
As for a "marketing decision"? Yeah, that seems like a brilliant one... I wonder what the attach rate is for "new" PSP software in EU these days with the Vita out if it's not available on Vita...

Or unless Sony goofs and re-enables it from their side, randomly.
I used to think that hacking the Vita was kind of bad, as I had no interest in pirating games and I wanted the platform to succeed. Not anymore.
I cannot wait for someone to bust this thing wide open and give us the support we deserve. I haven't bought a Vita game that wasn't an impulse sale purchase for "maybe someday I might play that" since I bought Ys and Tearaway at the end of last year...

lol Vita is selling so bad that hackers have no interest in hacking it. lol

But still I hacked psp mode on my vita and was able to play all my ps1 (no sound) and psp games. Sadly thats gone now.

Beat Ratchet 1 and 2 on the Vita collection the other day and gotta say, really impressed with the quality of the Vita port :D. The visuals are really nice on the Vita and hold up well from the PS2 versions, the sound in the Ratchet 2 is perfect (though it is very odd in the original), the controls are fine (took a bit to get used to strafing on the rear touch pad but it was great after a bit :D) and the gameplay is just as great as I remembered :).

The interesting thing for me was how easy Ratchet 2 was; I remember the game being much harder back on PS2 :l. Guess it was the fact I had more weapons maxed out and much higher health then I did when fighting the final boss :).

Moving on to the third game now and hopefully will beat it within the next week or so. That plus all the PS+ games I got (Dragons Crown and Metrico)....got lots of stuff to play :D.

That's a damn shame, because if it were busted wide open, it could be the "steamboy" everyone wants.

Gotta say that Dragon's Crown has been the most impressive thing I have seen on my Vita screen. The lushness of the colors is truly something else. Between this and Muramasa I have a couple of real lookers. Thanks PS+!

So sad that for this month and the next, I'll barely have 10 minute to play games during the week. It'll be for a good cause though, although I'm still bitter that I could be playing Phantom Breaker.

Uh no, it would just die from piracy, just like the PSP. Nothing original ever comes from cracked consoles, only piracy and emulators.

It's already dead without piracy.
Maybe people would actually buy it if it could be hacked and repurposed.
Besides, when they had the beta of application development, someone made remote play for Steam. If the platform was opened up by hackers, that sort of application could and probably would be developed. :P

they can just not stock the vita like what they have been doing and not go anywhere with the sales.

haha, doesn't matter if it's stocked or not. already dead here in the states.

It's quite sad that so many people believe so false things such as this or "PSP's software sales were shit"

Software sales did seem pretty awful considering 80 MILLION hardware sales. I seriously doubt it's SW sales were in line with other consoles of similar HW figures.
