PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Goodbye, all digital Vita life. I guess I'm getting Neptunia Rebirth physical for the LE, and if I can, a Firefly Diary physical LE if NISA makes it in the west. Haven't popped in a game card since PS+ replaced my copies of Wipeout and Uncharted GA with digital ones. But I'm getting that Collector's Itch. It's...too late for me. Save yourselves...

Has this been posted? Either ways, I'll post it since VitaGAF likes being disappointed anyways.

RPG Site: Final Fantasy X's HD Remasters made their way to the Vita, but the Kingdom Hearts ones skipped the platform. Many fans would like to see Kingdom Hearts on the Vita - is there any possibility of this?

Yasue: Well there is the possibility, but for 1.5 and 2.5 ReMIX, we really wanted to concentrate on the PS3. After that we will look into considerations for other platforms, such as evaluating the markets and schedules.

My translation (English to English)

Yasue:
I'd say yes, because if I outright say no, the PR team would get really really angry and then I'd get assassinated angry people.

It's even more priceless considering how Birth By Sleep SHOULD be playable on Vita for ages at this point but wasn't for stupid licensing reasons, so them porting over KH 2.5 remix would of just been bringing over one of the two games of the collection the platform should have gotten ages ago X(.

.....At this point, it's hard to get mad :l. If any of them land on Vita at all that will be nice....

Second, is there a way to back up full games to PC, so as to reinstall them to my vita later without needing to download them or use a PS3? Recently reinstalled windows, and I don't want to redownload the content manager windows program unless I have to, but this would do it.
Yes. Works like with the PS3. You can copy the whole game including save files to and from your PC without any additional download or PS3 required.

It isn't.

Some ppl seems to think it is, even when we have examples of the opposite. Like with how for example spryfox have expressed their problems publicly (twitter) with porting Road Not Taken to the vita (and right now don't even know if they will manage to pull it of).

This isn't a shot towards you or anything, but how blatantly wrong that is made me laugh and I spit iced coffee all over my keyboard...

My post was an over exaggerated parody of some of the PC master race elitist BS that I feel surfaces in this thread every now and then and that IMO proofs that ignorance still is a bliss.

It was also a post for the ones that think PS plus is some kind of charity program that sony has started because they have too much money, but noone seemed to have any problem with the insanity ot that part of my post.

Another topic is the "Retail vs Digital" discussion. I saw a stream with some smaller developers explaining that it would cost 600 000$ for them to "print" 50 000 copies of their game (so they have chosen to only release their game as a download). If you then factor in that a game is cross buy and they would have to make three copies of every game, it kind of makes sense that not every game is released in a box.

You two are the ppl that reacted to the post and by that action you probably are the last persons on this forum that IMO should read my answer, but the way forums work I had to adress it to you.

I just had to get it off my chest, feel free to ignore it ;)

Frozen too expensive?

Reminds me of that Tadeo Jones game from last year. Maybe it's a reskin?

Copy/paste from the other thread:

Imo you are unfair with the game just because it's Muppets.
First of all it doesn't look bad, i mean look at these screens:

It looks good enough for me, better than some other Vita games

Second it screams "16 bit" to me, it looks like a properly made 2.5d remake of a 16 bit game, and that's a big pro.

Look at Duck Tales on PS360 for example

Imo Muppets looks better.

Obviously it's too early to judge, we should see it in action but imo it doesn't look that bad.

The third MR DLC was nice, but even shorter than the first two.

Given that the three DLCs all have the same amount of bosses, it must only feel shorter.
And did you get the second ending already? If so, that was fast! (or maybe it's just me wasting time getting to 99 before finishing).

I'm sure August isn't a big gaming month for everyone due to being a PC gamer, having a Xbox One, or just not liking indies but this is a huge month for me.

CounterSpy
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition
Hohokum
Hotline Miami
inFAMOUS: First Light
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Road Not Taken
Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition
The Last Tinker: City of Colors
The Swapper

...with the possibility of Minecraft coming out. I'll pick up Metro Redux sometime down the road when it's on sale.

Off topic, but not sure of a better place to ask: Do any of you guys use the PS4 camera as a mic/is it's mic functionality a decent quality replacement for a headset? Considering grabbing one if it's good enough that I could use it instea dof having to sit with a headset on all night when I play.

Oh wow, if you're playing Road Not Taken, the stone bowl things that let you make offerings are CRAZY worth it. IT revives you like a checkpoint, though you lose all of your equipables. But it's better than restarting the whole career (at later levels anyway). This game is great but reminds me of why I rarely play rougelikes, very complex, fairly difficult and I'd rather avoid just reading a wiki in it's entirety before playing (I still haven't looked anything up, yet).

Are we ever going to see this gem released as a PS2 classic? I'm tired of waiting :_:

Only Sphynx of recent days that you will ever get is these guys from the anime Terror in Resonance:

My point is, it's time to let go brother. It's ok, I know, I did too a long time ago.

Has anyone here played Akibas Trip before? Was curious if the game is shallow gameplay/content wise. I know the ridiculous concept and have seen the trailer. It looks like stupid fun. Just curious if it's worth the full price. Was planning on getting it next week digitally. Figured id ask while waiting.

Oh my fucking god the download list on PSN is mindblowingly awful. I renewed my PS Plus sub last month and guess what my download list looks like now? Every game I've ever got free on PS Plus is now at the top of my download list. It says all of these games were purchased on the sam fucking date. So now there's basically no logical order to the vast majority of shit in my list making stuff even harder to find than it was before. For christ sake Sony.

It's not super-deep, since each weapon variety has its own unique upper, middle, and lower movesets, power hit and combo string. You can block, dodge, counter, use a flying jump kick, and a cinematic team-up attack. There are also different stripping styles you can equip to change things up visually. It's a lot of fun. Stalking that one NPC for the pair of shorts you really want to complete your outfit is shockingly addictive.

Lots of content, six different character routes I think? You unlock different modifiers whenever you finish the game, like letting you swap character models, make everybody just wear underwear, other fun stuff. You can get a lot of mileage out of it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm totally okay with weird/silly games if they are fun. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't like a 6 hour game, with not a lot to do. I'm also okay with extending my gameplay by unlocking things. Just as long as it's fun.

1) I'm a huge Muppets fan, so I actually really want this.

2) That Tadeo Jones game was terrible. I imported it, but I only got around to playing it last weekend. The first three levels were fine, but the last one was a total disaster. This was actually a huge problem, since the last level accounted for about two-thirds of the game -- the first three levels had 5 sections each, but the last one had something like 35 sections. Like, everything worked just as it should at first, then it all went to hell: the translations suddenly made no sense, the game started crashing every few levels, the load times became endless, the edges of the screen (on a platformer, remember!) were constantly tearing and popping in and out.

So yeah...hopefully this Muppets game isn't a reskinned Tadeo Jones.

Yes, this happens when you resubscribe. Most games are grouped per publishers, but there are exceptions.

Yeah, I agree with your comments about Tadeo Jones. I 100%ed the game a month or two ago and liked the first 3-4 levels before the bird/train level and they were distinct and fun enough (if nothing amazing). Then you have two stupidly long train levels that are really boring, then temple levels that felt like they went on forever and then a weird 2D hot air balloon level. Its one of the few games that I wish was actually half the length of what it ended up being!

I don't get it. That says it's a beat-them-all then compares the game to Dragon's Lair. What?

Digital Leisures is at least the publisher for Get Off My Lawn. They've also ported Dragon's Lair to almost everything. I imagine Pockett just named their most notable prior work.

So yeah...hopefully this Muppets game isn't a reskinned Tadeo Jones.

It's actually not, I just thought they looked kind of similar. Tadeo Jones was done by a studio called U-Play. Virtual Toys is behind the Muppets game.
