A quick look at the CoroCoro site says the "special broadcast" is completely separate from the supplemental Smash Bros. book.
 
I actually thought it was the 14th and that it was all old info so deleted all the stuff in that post.


Guess I really am time deficient.

According to CoroCoro.tv, a special broadcast of Super Smash Bros 4 will air on August 12th where all the characters and stages of the title will be finally revealed.

Is special broadcast for CoroCoro Stream right? I kept hearing about it from some people over the Internet. I thought it was just fake.

I strongly doubt it'll be anything. It almost seems like they're purposely avoiding stealing thunder from Hyrule Warriors, so it'd seem strange to throw that out the window two days before it's out.
 
It's weird that this is coming up again, I thought CoroCoro had changed their stuff to say that it wouldn't be "the full roster."?

What's this about them saying Nintendo would be the ones to reveal the entire roster on the 12th? What changed? Was there more info in the special book or something?

There's a lot of weird, conflicting info out right now, I'll just keep all hype in check until I can better grasp the situation.

Yeah, there's the Smash Bros thing in CoroCoro, which isn't the full roster, and the special broadcast which is on the 12th and apparently does?

If there was something of that caliber coming on Tuesday, Sakurai would have said something by now.
 
I was thinking about going on media blackout, but then I remembered I'm on the internet all day for work, and that's virtually impossible for me.

Besides, what am I supposed to do with my off time without reading rumors started and passed around as leaks? Play games in my backlog? Nah.

I'm riding this train to the end.

2 Months to go.

I thought they said it would be. Also I doubt there will be new character info, but we will at least get new info through the form of clarification. We might see some stages such at the PM, and N's Castle stage in detail. Also, I hope we see an ingame screen shot of the starting roster.
 
Ok. So at this point CoroCoro are saying they're gonna reveal the full roster on some live event right? I doubt it's happening, but they are saying it?

I get nervous thinking about a Ganondorf reveal because idk if he'll be the same (I love his moveset actually), or if he'll have all new toys (which I'd love even more).

It's like those first date jitters.

Man, Ridley really could be a fun character. Think heavy and slow Peach with lots of range.

Flying characters in general could provide cool gimmicks, another reason why I want to see Dixie Kong.

Or a Water type, since it evolves in rain and lives in a marsh. Or a bug type, since it's based on a gastropod.

A better question is why Aromatisse isn't secondary Poison type, since it's all about odors (both fair and foul) and is based on perfume and plague doctors.

Sounds like water is the best bet there, most of the other mollusks are water too. And poison Aromatisse does make too much sense. It'd be a lot cooler I think!

Ok, i'm not going to beat around the bush, the fact that Greninja is a playable character is, in my opinion, the stupidest thing I have seen in this game so far (and i hope it will stay that way).
To me, Greninja is just a face in a crowd of 718 people that doesn't stand out at all. He got in because nintendo wanted to advertise Gen 6 and took the "coolest" looking pokemon, and even if he is better than average he doesn't stand out as much as Lucario, who was way more popular before brawl than Greninja was 2 days ago.
Speaking of popularity, Greninja wasn't even rated once in the "Rate their chances" thread, while Zoroark was rated twice. His support thread (created in november) barely reached the second page before his anouncement, with the last post dating back to the end of january, Hawlucha (another Gen 6 pokemon) did better than that.

All i want to say is that i don't feel like Greninja deserve to be playable, his design isn't that interresting, his role in pokemon X/Y isn't special, and he isn't popular enough to get in.
However, i know some people are happy with his inclusion, so i would like to see how much, and, most important, why.

I don't have any strong feelings about Greninja personally, but anyone saying it's not one of the most popular additions in Pokemon X/Y is deluding themselves :P

On the other hand, Lucario's popularity baffles me. The first time I saw it, I felt it's design was so uninspired and bland that it had to be from a cheap pokemon rip-off game. I was pretty surprised when I discovered it was from the actual series and extremely surprised when I found out it was actually well-liked. Everybody's different I guess :s

If I had it my way, he'd have Hyrule Warriors as his default with other appearances as alt models with their own voice. Windwaker being more realistically proportioned.

Or if only one I'd take Ocarina

Yeah, I think I'd go Ocarina as well. Maybe it's the nostalgia speaking, but I like that he still looks like a thief in that design.
