Smalling played Center of the 3 if I remember correctly. I don't like Smalling in the back 3. He really struggles when pressed. Would rather have:

Would be nice if they also added a touch of realism to the offside calls.
And gave players their specific "shit" moves like biting, diving, whining, etc.

do you realize LvG reached the CL finale in his first season at Bayern (and the domestic double) with a squad of Demichelis, LvG, Contento, Badstuber, Jorg Butt, Olic, Gomez, Pranjic, etc. The only good players we had were Robben, Müller (first season as starter), Lahm and Schweinsteiger (first season as DM).
Coaches like LvG, and Rodgers, Klopp, Heynckes, etc do make a difference. They improve their team and players instead of having to buy better and better players to make the team perform better.
Bit unnecessary and slows the match down, innit?
Sure aim for realism in a simulation game, but only to an extent.
May as well add in a commercial break at half time.

Sure, van Gaal is a good coach but you guys played Fiorentina and Lyon in the knockout round. And were very lucky to go through against United.

I seriously doubt that will happen, its not as if Drogba is going to be out for months and if things do get really dire (Costa Injury) we can just play someone else like Shurrle as a striker.

Schurrle as a CF didn't work last year. I still think we need another CF and CM. It actually happening is a different story.
4th choice is not fine. Baring injuries he will not play enough. Wenger will not actively rotate CB's. He won't do it unless he's forced to do it and if Chambers doesn't play enough he won't develop fast enough.
We need 1 player and that player needs to be a dm who can fit in at cb in emergencies.
Cant argue really, interesting he has given all of the players a shot saying he needed time but will get rid of Fellaini sight unseen.

I think you're seriously underrating how out of his depth Moyes was last season. It wasn't just the results that were getting fans ticked off, but a combination of the manner of defeat, the gormless style of the football and the maddening inflexibility of approach.
The overwhelming majority of United fans were expecting a top four finish, not an immediate continuance of trophy-lifting. No major realignment in expectation is required IMO. That should be the expectation.
He'll get games at right back too.
DM is a non-negotiable necessity, regardless of what happens with the defender situation.
