This hits pretty hard. His movies and stand up was the material that helped get me through some of the hardest moments in my life.

I'd seen him once pretty close in Sausalito at a Johnny Winter gig.

I'd always wanted to thank him for being an inspiration that helped get me through a dark time that had me on the verge of some dark permanent decisions.

Living in the bay I hoped one day I'd get the chance again.

I really regret that I never did.
