Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

Y'know, I can totally respect that. He does have a fair bit going for him... he just had a pretty bad first impression (2K6 being his first game, his first moments being kinda whiny, and the boss fights against him having complete bullshit chaingrabs that can effectively instantly kill you if you so much as look at him funny... none of that does him any favors), and hasn't really been used since (because, well, he's from far in the future, of course he won't show up).

I really enjoyed playing as him in Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, which I think is a criminally underrated game. ;)
Also, I do understand that the game he made his debut in didn't do him any favors, but I can look beyond that. As said, conceptually, Silver is awesome. It's just that the execution is lackluster at best, but I can't blame the character for that. At least they TRIED making something interesting out of him. Unlike, say, Krystal. :P

mega man uprising is sakurai's next game
it has to be

plz sakuman

I could die happy if this happened.

Well, Smash Bros newcomer sale is live on the eShop. Looks like I'm becoming a MegaMan/Animal Crossing/Punchout fan this week.

Wish me luck (and my wallet a speedy recovery)

Good luck, and a little advice: start with Mega Man 2, 3, or 5 -- not 1. The first game can be brutally difficult if you're a newcomer to the series.

That is the sickest, I love this picture. Smug Beat is best Beat.

Yesterday's pic was the only thing to actually disappoint me and the only thing to make me say "that is fucking stupid" in regards to this game. And now today's has totally made up for it. Now we need the custom moves to cover MM5, 10, and maybe even MM&B and we'll have coverage across every mainline Mega Man game. I know the argument that Slide being an attack in this game is a lot like MM5's Charge Kick but the slide in this has no energy field and was referred to as "Slide" and citing MM3 as its source.

Not sure if you're serious about hating Meta Knight that much, but okay.

Anyway, it could be said that Mega Man 5 is in fact represented now via Beat... he did debut in that game, after all. Also, Mega Man 9 isn't yet represented, unless you consider the initial blast he fires for his Final Smash to be the Black Hole Bomb.

Thanks!
But not for NA yet sadly
Yeah, that sucks for you guys. If it helps, our discounted prices are basically just your normal ones.

Um, oops. I've already bought the first one. It's downloading. I'm planning on pushing through with restore points rather than playing properly. I'll get more if I like this one though.

Speaking of, other than the Mii fighters, the website says Paluntena can't have customized moves. Why?

Her main gimmick is that her special moves are all based off the powers from Kid Icarus Uprising, so instead of variations she gets completely different moves to choose from.

Just know that the series is still finding itself at that point. The game isn't bad and it's still fun, but the physics are kinda wonky and there's a lot of seemingly unfair stuff with bosses.

You can also play them out of order with little issue, the stories are self contained and while there's something resembling continuity, the games only make small nods to each other and you don't miss out on much.

ACK!!!

I didn't mean that!! I meant the flag! I meant the flag!! Oh god!

You have spoken wisely.

In all seriousness, I don't really get people who actively want characters cut/take pleasure in seeing characters being rejected from the roster.

It's always a shame to see characters left out.

No it didn't. Mii and Palutena are only two characters that are getting 12 unique movests for customization. However the website said that Mii Fighters are not allowed to be used online, along with Palutena's customization moveset. If you want to play with Palutena online, then you have to use her default moveset.

You can still make customization moveset for her only if you are going to play with friends online or local.

Thanks for the heads up. I've heard it's a weird one so I'm not planning on judging Mega Man off it, just want an impression. I am planning on doing them in order if I carry on though just cus that's the order people did back in the day.

If we're doing move speculation; before he's officially disconfirmed, I thought I might throw together a particularly fanwanky Isaac moveset. I apologise for the self-indulgence.

Which is the default, and which is the alt? It's a mystery.

But I've also put together a more realistic moveset which will accurately represent Isaac's true potential in Smash Bros.

I want his final smash to be Judgement respective to his earth/venus element. I hope is younger version is the default one.

I just found out that King Dedede's French name is Roi DaDiDou. That's a great name, lol.

Also Zero Suit Samus' French name is Samus sans armure. Doesn't that just mean "Samus without armour"? Boooring!

I like you still the ending

Think thron would be more typical of a down smash

And nah too Iris. Judgement's the awesome obvious one, I would also prefer Daedalus or Apocalypse over Isis

Ah, okay then! Yeah, restore points will help a lot if the original game's going to be your introduction to the series then. The original's a little rough around the edges compared to the sequels, all of which refined and improved on the basic formula, but it has still aged well.

Yeah, I've heard this, but I'm still gunna give it a go. Need to decide if I should spend the rest of my eShop money on more Mega Man or a digital copy of Kid Icarus Uprising.

If you haven't played uprising yet I highly recommend it. It has a lot of charm and There's a lot of content and replay ability to justify it's full price so getting on sale is even better.

I have played it and loved it, that's why the choice is tough. I don't really like having physical games, don't have the space for it. But I can't even get the sale price of the digital one by selling my physical one. It's a tough choice.

Especially as I bought Link Between worlds the other day, and Animal Crossing today. My wallet is crying.

Is Sakurai at Gamescon?

Gamestm did an interview with him.
http://www.gamestm.co.uk/interviews...-smash-bros-best-character-game-in-the-world/

Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, Mega Man and Pac-Man all step into the arena. If this was 1991 the games industry might have imploded. But this is 2014 and while the popularity of these pixel pioneers has been on the wane in recent years, there’s still a palpable excitement in the room as Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai pits these iconic creations against one another in the latest sequel in his fighter franchise.

“It really is a miracle,” beams an ebullient Sakurai to the gathered room of journalists. “[We have] four of the most famous characters in the video game industry on the same screen battling each other. The only game that makes this possible is Super Smash Bros.”

“And, just between you and me,” he adds, leaning towards the crowd as if to whisper in the ear of each participant, “I’m aiming to make this the number one character game in the world.”

It all sounds like a description of the E3 roundtable. The only comment is from today though. I don't see a date on the article, but I guess if it's being relayed here, I should assume it was posted today.

I doubt he'd be at Gamescom though.

Speaking of Gamescom, when does the Smash tournament go on? Will Nintendo stream it?

The more I think about it, the more I think custom moves have the potential the be the next big divisive thing. Like people who play items vs people who play no items. It'll be the purists vs the customs.

That is, unless, it is a huge pain in the butt to swap custom moves between fights.

Will definitely be switching out Mega Man's Neutral move. That thing was garbage when I used it in the demo. Maybe switching his Side move to something with a lil' more kick too.

It's a separate menu on Smash 3DS, so it's likely that it might be as well on Smash U

Being a separate menu on the 3DS version wouldn't necessarily keep you from customizing during match setups though, since everyone has their own screen. It could be a much bigger issue on the Wii U version.
