Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

I hope for a custom move they bring back the Melee version of Link's spin attack. I don't need charging or any of that stuff, I just need it's awesome knockback. It was the BEST way to prevent people from coming back to the stage if they weren't able to target the edge (although maybe with the auto latch it won't be)

I'm all for Mewtwo, and (if its moveset and such were improved) would probably enjoy it more than Jigglypuff since I'm not a fan of her anyway. That being said I think Jigglypuff deserves the spot more since so shes been a part of smash from the beginning and many people would be sad to see her go.

As a character, Mewtwo doesn't interest me at all. I remember even as a kid not giving a damn about Mewtwo when he appeared in the movie. He's almost as boring as Lucario to me.

I would love to see Mewtwo come back but not at the cost of Jigglypuff. We already have two human-like Pokemon, Jigglypuff is representation for the countless weird blob Pokemon!!

Ideally we'd get both of them.

I want Jigglypuff back and I want him to get Fairy-type moves

I imagine he'll get effects added to a few moves, but I doubt much more than that. Not only does Jiggly have a pretty established playstyle after 3 games, but there's not that many fairy-type moves to pick from.

I just had a friend seriously try to tell me that Meta Knight shouldn't have returned because Greninja has essentially replaced his play style and made him irrelevant.

I... don't even know where to begin. Like, they're literally not even a little bit similar.

Jigglypuff's inclusion is worth it for Rest alone. Mewtwo's moveset is much less interesting.

Jigglypuff was always about air maneuverability and Rest, but if they keep crippling drastically her airborne movement so bad that even Wario can do better at what she does and making Rest worse and unsatisfying as they did in Brawl, she is better left out in favor of a more diverse moveset like Mewtwo's.

However, Mewtwo felt like wasted potential in Melee since no other character has been able to manipulate other characters as he did with Confusion and Disable. And his animations were beast, definitely the coolest in the whole Smash franchise. Beam swords had never been the same since then.

Plus the only two offensive moves she learns are Disarming Voice and Dazzling Gleam. The former is basically what she's already using in her moves and the latter is... difficult to picture. Could make for an interesting final smash, though.

While we're on the subject of Jigglypuff, I've seen several suggestions that she should be cut because Villager essentially took her playstyle.

Heh.

If they have to add only one more Pokemon, it should absolutely be either Ness or Lucas. Best Pokemons.
It should be both Ness and Lucas. :P

They can take some liberties with it though. Like Robin learning Nosferatu.
Robin doesn't actually use this ability in the original game, but we added that element to make the character unique. Who knows--the ideas we use in this game may contribute to the original series.

But even still, what fairy moves are even out that. I pretty much only remember Moonblast.

I dunno, they're pretty similar, because both of them are awesome.

Heath, you can have exactly one more character in Smash Bros., in addition to those we know for Smash4 so far. Who do you pick?

Only one character? That's very difficult question since there are many veterans that are deserving to be in the game. Ness, Ganondorf, Ice Climbers, Wario, etc.

I could choose to be asshole by picking Snake and spit on Nintendo Purists' faces. Yeah, I would do that. :P

When you cut a blob, you just end up with two blobs.

If you try to cut Jigglypuff, she'll end up with two slots instead.

On whether I'll be buying both versions: I'm obviously excited for both, but as someone who has spent way, waaaay more time playing portable consoles than home consoles, the idea of portable smash is a dream come true, and I'll be there day 1, while I'll probably wait a couple of days for the Wii U version (I live in Costa Rica so I have to wait for the game to reach me. I'll buy the 3DS version digitally to avoid this).

Wow thanos pony has fully possessed you lol

Snake doesn't deserve to come back unless MGSV is announced for Wii U

Hehe, respect. I'd probably have to go with Ness. Wario and Ganon missing would be weird, but Mother needs to be in the game at all. Your comment before that made me consider the situation; it's good to want everyone back, but sometimes the situation is tough. This is just taking that to the extreme.

I don't know if I'd go with a veteran though. Maybe I could pick something ridiculous and get to see a totally new moveset.

Snake actually "deserves" to be in Smash more now than he did in Brawl, since in Brawl the most recent Nintendo MGS title was from the prior generation (GCN), while in SSB4, Snake would rep the current-gen MGS3D (3DS).

If Snake's not in, it'd be something to do with Konami, Hayter, etc.

Or Sakurai just doesn't want him in it.

I'd hate to see Jiggly go just because of it's Smash status alone and there is so much they can do with it now. Her? Her.

1 - Let Rest restore 5% or so with each use. It wouldn't be much maybe just enough and it would be nearly impossible to abuse.

2 - Sing should have a wide diameter and able to be canceled once connected. Even if crappy sleeping mechanics stay the same where no one stays asleep for any amount of time ever at least Jiggs would stop singing before the enemy wakes up.

3 - Hyper Voice replacing one of her many pounding attacks. Give it range and decent knock back.

4 - Then add fairy attributes to several of her standard moves and aerials. Maybe sprinkles, ribbons and all kinds of fairy nonsense that give her attacks more visual flair.

Add in her AND Mewtwo and I would be extremely happy. They did it before and they can do it again! Doesn't matter if that would mean 6 Pokereps. It just doesn't matter.

Cromartie High is a god damn treasure.

You mean the port that ran like garbage and was upstaged by a superior port on the competing handheld that was released just months after?

At least Twin Snake was a full remake headed in part by Nintendo.

I have no problem with Pokemon getting the most reps and this is from someone who just picked up a Pokemon game for the first time since gameboy color.

With Ivysaur and Squirtle looking unlikely to return, that'd actually set the Pokémon at the same number of characters than Brawl, 6! So I support this notion. I don't see why anyone would want -any- character cut, though. If you dislike someone so much, the game encourages you to beat their ass :P

Igglybuff confirmed

I think there's plenty of room in the game for both Jigglypuff and Mewtwo, personally. Jigglypuff's the only one guaranteed to return, though.
