Hey SmashGAF. Been lurking here since around the Little Mac reveal and finally decided to jump on the crazy pre-launch hype train. Looking forward to the madness.

Well now I'm looking forward to Smash Bros even more. Can't wait to falcon punch Mega Man in the face over and over and over.

Maybe then he'll learn how to walk and jump where I want him to.

...I'm not sulking or anything.

I need someone to make a pact with me.

If you're a person who is planning on spoiling the final roster for yourself as soon as Japan gets the game or it leaks, I ask that you make a deal with me. At that point I'll be avoiding all spoiler-full threads and I ask that any person who knows the full roster, at the time of leaking or reveal from someone who got their copy early, DM me with only the veterans who did not return. I ask this because, while I don't want to know the extent of the remaining newcomers (even though I'm pretty sure we know a couple of them), I need to know who's cut so I can grieve accordingly before I find out for myself in the game. This is serious business.

Who can help me?

I can do that for you. Please private message me and remind me that I would lost you know who got cut. PM me now so I will leave it unopened for constantly reminder.

Everything Nintendo does is about being accessible and friendly to new and casual players. 50 characters on a massive character screen is like the opposite of friendly and accessible.

It also removes progression and limits the sense of accomplishment, something Sakurai appears to really design his challenges and unlock ambles around.

Okay, you haven't answer my question.

Brawl Captain Falcon was too strong and was nerfed.
So we removed the falcon punch.

Please Understand

Thought you typed "shulking" instead of "sulking" and I got excited...

Had one of these guys end up starving nearly to death in our back yard. Took him in, healed him up, put out 'found' signs, called every shelter/vet in a 20 mile radius, no one claimed him. Best darn pet i've ever had.

They're like permanent kittens. Playful, adorable, and never turn into fat lazy cats. If you find yourself loving kittens more than you love cats, consider a ferret.

Does anyone want Masterpieces (short demos of virtual console games) to return to the Wii U version?

Ssbbmasterpiece.jpg

If they are, I hope they're better implemented this time. It'd be cool if they came with save games/states that were in locations depicted by stages instead of just right at the beginning with less than a minute to do anything.

Yes? Are you asking if they'll be released on release day? lol
Not that strange of a question. Games are released on digital store fronts and in actual retail shops. Not too many moons ago Nintendo was pretty inconsistent about putting retail games up on the eShop.

But at this point they have it handled better. Pretty much everything releases digitally at midnight on the release date, as far as I know.

Welcome aboard! I just got here too

Welcome to the crazy train.

Be sure to pack your sanity tightly before hopping aboard.

Not really I'm afraid. It feels very ancillary to me.

News to me with the tardy release

No way; half the games are a minute or less; even if it ate up a day of work, we could've gotten a few trophies instead, and it would've been so much better that way.

I dunno, they're pretty similar, because both of them are awesome.

I can agree with you there. ;)

I'll never understand what people look at to come to these conclusions. Being a part of the Smash fan base, it's also the hardest thing in the world to tune out when you see it fairly often and frequently from people who's gaming opinions you respect elsewhere.

Right? I mean as stupid as it would still be, I could maybe see a (dumb and still irrelevant) argument if he had said Sheik instead of Meta Knight. But Greninja and Meta Knight literally aren't the same even a little. There would be no Venn diagram crossover between them.

megaton news

nintendo is reprinting copies of melee with new box art:

That would be even funnier than it already is if it wasn't so true and didn't hit so close to home, haha. :(

Oh no doubt I heard its a great game I just need a controller to enjoy it. I have a hard time doing the super training in Pokemon y using the stylus with one hand on the 3ds. That's the only reason I didn't get it.

It's an amazing game. I was able to come up with a face button-only control scheme that worked for me, but oh my god what I wouldn't give for a Wii U GamePad-controlled, twin stick setup version of Kid Icarus: Uprising in HD.

I still can't believe that there still has not been a definitive answer as to Ridley's role in Smash 4 (despite the hinting he is a boss/stage hazard for the Pyrosphere).

I'm kind of thinking there has been a definitive answer, and we saw it in the Smash Direct; Ridley fans just refuse to believe the obvious conclusion to be drawn from it and Sakurai isn't necessarily aware that they will grasp onto literally anything they can to somehow conclude that Ridley is playable. I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai had literally zero clue that the Ridley "tease" was taken as anything other than an obvious sign that he's Pyrosphere's stage hazard.

That said, it would be great if he was playable. I don't think he is, but it'd be great for Ridley fans to have all their waiting and hoping rewarded...
I think.

I was thinking about this the other day, actually. I don't really think Masterpieces needs to return, but I would love it if the Chronicle (updated, of course) did.

Welcome! One of us...one of us....the ride will only get crazier as the days go on too.

The simple answer is that he's waiting for the 3DS version to release before he hypes up the Wii U version, and Ridley is a boss exclusive to Wii U and Pyrosphere.
It's the same reason why we haven't seen Wii U's extra modes ala Smash Run and Target Blast.

This.....is actually very plausible. I've always liked that idea of playable boss characters from that one rumor.

At least he'll be playable in some way right?

I'd take a twin sticks version, but I'd love a Wii Remote/Nunchuck controlled one even more; that game just screams for pointer controls. Obviously, best solution is to do both!

The most fun I had in Masterpieces was trying to sprint as far as I could across Ocarina of Time Hyrule in the allotted 5 minutes, so basically what I'm saying is we can easily do without them coming back.

Oh yeah, I would take that as well. I would take a version that came bundled with a free fire ant infestation, too. Whatever price it takes to get Kid Icarus: Uprising HD... I'm willing to pay it.

There were only like 3 space animals at the EVO 2014 finals.

Though the rampant stalling that was going on in the Jiggly vs. Young Link matches almost made me wish that it had been.

Yeah, and one of those three space animals won. :(

But heh, yeah, that Jigglypuff/Young Link match was such a bore.
