Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

Pic of the day. Here's the place you equip powers for Smash Run. Pack a good mix of them like a lunch box, and off you go! You can change how your powers are set up by touching their icons and dragging them.
If you hit the X Button, it will randomly fill up the remaining weight allowance with powers. You can keep changing the line-up as many times as you please. The level of a power is proportional to its strength, number of uses, and weight. Organizing them might be easier if you label your favorite powers with a ★.

Edit: oh wow am i late to the party

Today's POTD reveals to me that Smash Bros 4 has not only reached KI:U levels of customization but may surpass it as well.

A very exciting prospect for sure. Hopefully this includes the optional removal of stage bosses.

Apropos of nothing, I stumbled across this, and now I want a Super Mario 64 stage for Smash 4, however sadly unlikely that is:

So I was reading yesterday's PotD comment: "Looks like there was an impostor in the earlier posts, so I introduced him to my sword!".

Meta Knight killed the black Mii. Dat subtle racism.

As excited as I was to use items on Kid Icarus, I don't really care for these power ups in smash run.

Still cool that they're there though for those who'll run away with it.

mother of god I want that

Much as I love it, I think Mario 64 had its stage time in the sun with 64/Melee. I still dig the aesthetic direction they went in with Rainbow Ride.

They're really banking a lot on this Smash Run, huh? It sounds like they really want people to play it over and over and over and over.

It feels like we won't be getting the full roster for this game till September or the week of the game's release.

Game could be finished already but Sakurai would rather not have it in stores and have game leaked early. All that doesn't matter for the people that live outside of Japan.

Most are excited by the core mechanics being borrowed from City Trial in Kirby Air Ride, which by itself offered a surprising amount of replayability. Have you played it?

Edit:..unless that was sarcasm. It's late, my brain's fried from a month's torture of math!

Were trying to find SmashGAF's OP theme now? :P

the anime will eventually happen, just you wait!

Light Novel needs to happen first. Fanfic is the 1st step towards that.

Then a manga will come along.

Then the anime with a video game tie in will happen.

SmashGAF will soon have its own action figure collectibles and other merchandise. :p

Smash Run is actually super fun, and I was surprised by how much I couldn't get enough of it when I played it at E3 and SDCC. But it's true, they're REALLY pushing Smash Run... it's really noticeable.

...I'm an idiot who didn't recall anything but Smash 64's vaguely-SM64 themed stages, forgetting that it had two whole stages to itself in Melee. Damn! But yes, you're right.

I haven't. I've never played Kirby Air Ride at all. But hey, if City Trial was really that replayable then maybe Smash Run will be too. Not that it's of any concern to me, though, as I have no interest in the 3DS version.

I got to play it at Best Buy and, while it was fun, 5 minutes seemed a little long. I hope there's an option to change the time limit.

I was seriously tempted to quickly photoshop members with aquatic avatars over a pic from 'Free!' but laziness won I'm afraid :P

Do I count as having an "aquatic avatar"?

Kirby Air Ride's City Trial allowed matches from 3 to 7 minutes, and I think 5 was the default.

Hey, remember the last time Smash tried taking mechanics from Kirby games like that?

I still think it's pretty funny how Sakurai kept explaining it during the E3 period.

hahahahahaha

This has to be the most boring update ever, especially since its Smash Run, which without online is useless to me.

Atleast pics like that don't eat me or people sleeping are amusing. Also wheres my Break the Targets for 3DS. :(

20 POTDS left...I'm starting to think theres no more newcomers. Speed is too slow. And I don't see a whole bunch of reveals quickly, obviously it will pick up a bit, but I don't see it picking up much more...

At least I have my Lucina. :)

Also, next Wednesday is the one year anniversary of the first Ridley tease. He's a coming. He will be confirmed on that day as a playable character!
I am of course talking about Dark Pit.

I also still think it's pretty funny (not funny?) that reviewers slammed City Trial for not having proper customization (such as being supposedly not able to switch what mini-game was played at the end) when all they had to do was access the options menu.

I though it did have online?
