I didn't like most of the episode.
The Iroh cameo was totally unnecessary (just like the first time); Zaheer ultimatum is inconsistent with the persona he showed last time so yeah, he is being Amon'd without being even half as cool and threatening as Amon was and, finally, that ending felt like a bad edit lol.

BUT WOW AT TENZIN. What a boss, he totally kicked Zaheer ass.

I don't see an inconsistency, especially because we don't yet know specifically why he wants Korra.

I also loved how Tenzin used t
hat break dancing move we see Aang doing in the intro, meaning that it's an actual martial art technique and not acrobatics like Zaheer.

Zaheer was powerless against Tenzin after a while, who is a true airbending master.

Air was always my favourite element, it's that style and swag that Aang had in his bending that Korra completely. That and fact that Korra's a mediocre bender in almost every way...

If only Tenzin wasn't jobbing almost all the time. We would have seen some more finesse looking airbending.

Don't see how this is true at all. I think it's pretty obvious he was never going to kill them and was just saying that to get Korra to come after him. I mean he only killed the Earth Queen and nobody else, why bother trying to do the same with the airbenders? Only person who might die is Tenzin since in a way he's the leader of the Air Nomads.

Also, it felt good seeing him completely kick Zaheer's ass, shame Kaya is useless and Bumi is still a beginner. Kai's survival was BS though I guess killing a kid is too far even for the new Avatar series.

The children of Avatar Aang and Katara, everyone

Tenzin showing the difference between an air bending master and an air bender
Kya managing to hold her own against someone as talented at waterbending as that
Bumi really takes after his uncle Sokka with how unorthodox he fights

Despite their old age, they fought hard and well

Another great episode. The action was really awesome, great choreography in the fights.

I loved watching Tenzin kick ass this episode. If he was like 10-15 years younger he could have taken all 4 together.

Shit man I hope they didnt kill Tenzin off :/

I also wonder if we will see Zukos daughter this season or next.

The Legend of Korra Season 3, Episode 11:

It is now a time of chaos
with the Earth Queen dead, and she is dead, let us not mince words here and Ba Sing Sae engulfing itself into the immolation of anarchy.
Zaheer and his group are continuing their rampage against the nation of the world unless the Avatar surrenders for reasons that are sill not adequately explained.
This time they have their sights set on the Northern Water Temple because genocide against the Air Nation is just something that villains in this franchise are just going to consider. Anyway, it is going to be an episode or two before Team Avatar reaches the temple so in its stead we get, well, probably the best bender battle of the season thus far.
It is shame to see this season season doing so well creatively onto to be shafted and shunted like this. That being said, there are still problems, like I still don't know enough about Zaheer's group to really care about them, they are really getting by on sheer badass right now.

erm, was that a fakeout or
did they just kill off Tenzin?

i don't know what to think here...

the way the last shot was framed with them
hiding Tenzin behind a wall as if the camera was moving away so we wouldn't see him die
made me think that's what they were implying. that
he said as long as he was still breathing it wouldn't be over, so they beat him to death, which of course they can't actually show. Plus the way the whole scene played out looked like it was Tenzin's last stand.

I'm going to say "probably."

I think I haven't seen Korra have an awesome fight scenes this season. Maybe I'm forgetting things.

Korra and Asami had that neat little fight scene against the Mad Max bikers in the third episode
But yeah she hasn't really been in many fights so far this season

Oh yeah. I forgot about that one.
The fight between Zaheer and Tenzin is probably the most memorable so far.
Airbending is much more fun to watch.

Tag spoilers, Cuba. Free discussion is generally permitted after 8 eastern - Korra's old air time.

Korra has barely fought this entire season. Her most prolonged battle this season was against the rowdy boys on bikes. I think it's a purposeful decision - making Korra the target while the surrounding characters have most of the agency. Korra still does stuff, and has the most screen time, but it's mostly been non combat stuff.

Korra has never had a good fight scene

Probending Arena rooftop, vTarlokk, vUnalaq right after harmonic convergence, against the southern water tribe kidnappers early in Spirits.

He's just being beaten into submission / unconsciousness.

I dunno, man. They usually just
show it when somebody gets knocked out. I could be wrong, but it seems like they did that specific shot and camera move just so they wouldn't show the end.

This is what I was thinking.
As Iroh is there giving his old man speech, I was just thinking...Why isn't Zuko doing that now?

Huge wasted opportunity for feels there.

I think they just want us to wonder whether he died or not, so we would be suspenseful for the next episode.

I hope Tenzin isn't dead.

specially if you look into his eyes as he says these words.
still hoping it was a fakeout...

btw guys, plz use spoilertags!

This week episode was really good, can't wait to watch next week episode.

Also
Is Tenzin dead or did the camera just panned over to mislead us?

I hope Tenzin isn't dead

Holy crap! that was a Fantastic episode best one of this season.
Kai even showed some promise of being a decent character, he reminded me of Aang when he was up against sparkly sparkly boom lady

Is it just me or does Korra seem like less of a main character in season three than the rest of the seasons? The episode alone proved that she isn't as interesting as Aang was.

I dunno, man.

I would make an avatar bet that
he's not dead. The next time they show Tenzin, he'll be unconscious, held captive and all beat up. He might have a conversation with Team Entropy and Zaheer will spout his usual. Then Korra and pals will show up.

Tenzin is too valuable to the show to be killed offscreen and with no direct consequence to Korra. Zaheer gains nothing from killing Tenzin at this point in time, either.

I don't think
they would kill Tenzin. I think that the move behind the wall was them trying to intentionally manipulate us into thinking they would kill him since Zaheer just killed the Earth Queen. Having us not see it leaves us guessing, but there's absolutely no way they've killed him. Zaheer needs to bait Korra - Tenzin is worth nothing to Zaheer if he's dead. Killing Tenzin is just gonna make her mad.

This is basically Lin's sacrifice in book 1 all over again. It's supposed to raise the stakes and make us invested in seeing Zaheer lose because now it's personal.

also where is Azula

i need to remind him that its coming but he didnt want to believe me

Also at the end when he said
"Thanks, buddy" totally reminded me of Aang and Appa. Kai is pretty much an Earth Nation Aang anyways.

He has to be killed offscreen because it's a kid's show and you can't kill someone onscreen. There is no other way to kill someone in a Y7 show.

Tenzin said he will never stop fighting Zaheer as long as he breathes. How is that "nothing to gain" from killing him?

This time around would be the ultimate betrayal because the writers have set clear sub-teams in Korrasami and the brothers. Korra and mako thankfully have had minimized screen time together, and have literally built nothing between them since their split to make them getting back together seem reasonable. At the same time, Asami has been Korra's caretaker and right hand all season.

So to force them back together at this juncture or any in the 16 episodes left in the LoK would be fucked up.

You're probably right. :(

You people are forgetting it's a kid show.
children media nowadays has no problem in killing evil characters in somewhat non gory ways or off screen. Pixar has done it. They're not going to show a lovable old father figure get beaten to death when children are still watching this

Well they
really can't have Korra fighting them anyway since she'd win when goes AS.
