Yeah, it was peaceful until the police started firing and stuff. I assume it was because of the incident with rifles, but I don't know for sure.

Either way, if we're not sure exactly what caused them to fire about an hour and a half ago, then the protesters on the ground probably don't know either. Not a good situation.

What are you talking about? Police haven't done anything in the past 30 minutes besides have a stand off. The looting started 15 minutes ago. LIterally nothing was happening, and then people started to run and then the looting started @ 3 stores.

Same. A shame there's still that group of the public who think it's nonstop rioting coming from them. You can clearly see that these people are upset and they're showing it in the best way they can without violence.

As they should, violent protest always turn public opinion against them. Of course some get satisfaction that then police are required to use force and they get nice pictures of "police brutality" to fuel their hate against law enforcements. But that kind of peaceful but passionate protesting only does good and really shows how much they believe in their cause.

Yes, the Vice guy keeps talking about that stuff like 60 minutes ago. I've been watching for 30 minutes where nothing has happened besides a stand off. Looting started like 15 minutes ago. There wasn't a specific thing that started the looting.

Probably because active intervention will only make things worse. I think they think their presence will stop the looting from spreading. But if they go in with tear gas and rubber bullets, then it's violence all over again.

i'm going to point to a "fuck everything" attitude that the looters are using at this point, which i can totally understand them being at that point. all the default disclaimers apply, not affected, not there, and many more. it's just easy to imagine those who are affected being that upset at the world.
