WWE 2K15 First Footage and Gameplay changes

Wait, so 92 roster spots...44 revealed today...

I got it! The other 48 released as DLC, $9.99 (or equivalent) for packs of 3. You heard it here first!

I may or may not be joking.

Big Show wasn't shown despite already being announced, so definitely only a partial roster.

Dissapointed in the lack of legends already though, guess that's a drawback of the new scanning.

This game feels half baked. Why are they hiding everything? I bet the game won't even play without a day 1 patch.

Because they have a good idea already how to predict sales. It's going to be the built in audience (IE: the people in the community side thread) that they've had for years. There's no reason to offer a deep preview into the game if it's not remarkably different than what has been offered in past seasons. That can only hurt their initial sales. It's why they don't do an annual demo.

But they have a demo at Gamescom that people can play.

This is how 2K does game reveals. Small teaser trailer followed by a drip feed of actual information and then a blowout 4-5 weeks before release. NBA 2K14 followed the same pattern last year and this year for that matter.

But they won't make that available for you and I to play from our couches. And why is that? Because if you want to try you have to buy. It's very similar to what EA is doing with Madden this year. There's value in mystic.

IGN picked the wrong title to have as their IGN First coverage considering all we've got is generic garbage about oh this feels different, and this may be better and all of what, two screenshots? A joke of a trailer?

Can't fully blame IGN because this is definitely a 2K thing and their Destiny and Forza coverage was waaaaaay better. But they deserve the L for taking it on in the first place.

The roster on the E's website and on 2k's website is a bit different.

Booker T
Kevin Nash
Ric Flair

Are on WWE's list but not on 2k's list. Let's separate both Hogans and both Stings from the main roster and add those three in. That gives us 57 spots on the main selection screen.

We have 35 spots left MINUS DLC, managers (and potentially NXT).

How do you know this?

New control scheme, updated graphics. Sounds about right for year one.

Y'all worry too much.

As much as 2K15's gameplay videos disappoint me, this man is absolutely right. They only get one year to work on these titles, so they can't do everything. They've done a great job with the graphics this year (finally). Just got to cross our fingers that the animation engine is the big overhaul for next year.

Maybe the best we can hope for is that 2K hire a second studio to work on WWE games, and give them and Yukes a two-year dev cycle. When it's just Yukes... can't honestly say I was expecting more than this. Hoping, sure. Expecting? Nope.

If more NXT stars don't get revealed, I'm going to bet there will be a DLC pack with the major ones. They're pushing the program too hard on the Network NOT to have guys like Neville & Zayn in this game.
