So there's a rumor going around Pichu Bros will be playable in Project M as a way to incorporate both Pichu and the unused Plusle/Minun idea.

That sounds... kind of a cool way of bringing Pichu back as less of a joke character.

Kind makes me wish Smash 4 dabbled with the Plusle/Minun idea.

There was a rumor on /v/ a few weeks back that Lynn and Knuckles were finished about a year ago and just needed balance, with Lynn being another Marth clone (however, easily the furthest decloned Marth by far) with bow attacks and a critical hit mechanic, and Knuckles being a Sonic clone that was heavier, had wall clinging, could glide, and had a few martial arts attacks. Donno if it was true, but it sounded pretty Project M-y.

I would like Pichu Bros, but it'd put Sami at risk for getting in, I think :/.

Regardless, they're showing debug mode off on Sunday at a tourney. I have some wonders if that's all they'll be showing off, with how much they've been ramping up the rate of info coming out for 3.5, but I don't want to over hype things.

I'm actually surprised they'd go with Marth over Ike for her clone base if this is true. I thought they'd go with Ike and make her a Johnny (Guilty Gear) character with movement stances a la Mist stance and high power draw attacks. Also curious how far along they've revamped their clone engine if they can give her projectile articles when the base clone doesn't have articles in their move set to alter for that sake.

Said it elsewhere but Pichu has and forever will be a "why" option. What's more, the Pichu Bros aren't referenced at all in Brawl materials, so why does the PMDT insist on making material that isn't "licensed for use in Brawl"?

I know that plans change, and Sakurai does say that they'll consider it once they're done with the game, but I still think this article shows that DLC isn't as certain as some of you are making it out to be.

"At the current time we have no plans [for DLC]," Sakurai told me. "I consider my job at this point, and my main responsibility, to make the Wii U and 3DS versions the best and the fullest experience possible. That said, once finished, it's the type of thing we could take into consideration, but for now, you could consider DLC as not being in the cards."

As for Pichu, eh. I'd rather they go with Plusle & Minun too. The Pichu Bros. aren't licensed for Brawl, but then again neither are anime Mewtwo or Squirtle Squad Squirtle.

Yeah, no way does Smash release without a good DLC supplement happening down the road. I felt confident in the game receiving regular balance patches and maintenance update at the least, but now I feel confident in a good bit of substance coming in the future.

This also simultaneously made me re-hyped for Mario Kart 8.

To clarifying my stance, I'm pessimistic because I don't want to get my hope high for things that I really want to see.

For example, I'm a huge supporter for Takamaru being playable character but I doubt that he will ever become playable character in Smash 4.
