#CNN Producer Steven Kastenbaum confirms/witnessed shots were fired at police. Says both police and media had to hit the deck.

Someone who knows ballistics or geometry better might correct me, but since those first four shots are all on the interior of the arm, wouldn't that imply his hands were up? Or at least showing palms in surrender?

Unless he berserker rushed the cop with his arms out like Wolverine...

"Black Rage Barrage!"

Shots on the inside of the arm, and two pops to the head after that. Yeah. I think we know what the deal was here.

What happened today that got everyone so riled? Last night the crowd was small, and the Police were incredibly restrained in their response.

Some violence from what I was told in this thread. I wasn't watching so I don't know how bad it was compared to yesterday but from what I'm seeing now the police are way more aggressive today.

I heard some report that Brown was running toward the officer, and the officer unloaded on him to try to stop him.

However, looking at those wounds, I don't think you're going to be charging at someone after getting shot in the chest and arms unless you pumped up with some type of drug.

Also the guy got shot in the fucking eye. I couldn't even imagine identifying my kid's body with a fucking hole in his face. Fucking awful way to see a loved one.

I don't remember any report or eye witness saying Brown was running towards the cop. Do you have a link?

Mike was laying on his face. Maybe he did charge at the cop. And got shot in the process.

These events are fascinating on so many levels.

Everything wrong with life is happening in Ferguson.

Person on CNN saying protesters shot first and police were just responding in "defense"
Woman on MSNBC who was on the frontline of the march said no one fired anything at all. Said they were going to go on their knees and shout "Hands up! Don't shoot". But then were fired upon.

Her poor voice from the Gas D:

this MSNBC host is pretty terrible at talking to her. "Uh ok"
Sounded a little shocked.

It doesn't surprise CNN is playing both sides. They keep reiterating "a report just released showing Michael Brown was shot 6 times, twice in the head. but we need to know the whole story"

The cops came out preemptively tonight, which riled things up. They probably knew this report was about to be released and wanted to be there if anything happened.

That matches up with what was streamed via the "I am Mike Brown.." stream.

Is there any way (without being graphic) to simply explain how they would know which order the shots came in?

This is in no way a loaded question, I am just curious how they can determine that.

Angle. Cop would have to be an unrealistic height for some of the head wounds to occur so they must have been as he was falling

In her defense, I don't think she was expecting such a volatile interview. As soon as the woman spoke one word I knew she was amped up and possibly in shock.

dammit, MSNBC just went to a prison show.

With the bullet wounds being on the inside of his arms he would have had to have his arms up. Think of the surrender position. Only way those bullets could hit his arms like that. Add that to the fact that the bullet shots to the head were the last shots.

Also note he was shot at from a distance.
