Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

As a conversation point, who is YOUR fighter that you have absolutely no feelings for positivity or negativity? If they disappeared, who would not matter to you?

Other than Yoshi, mine is Wario. Which is also weird, because Wario outside of Smash is one of my favorite Nintendo characters. And yet...

I feel exactly the same way about Wario - love him as a character, love all his games, but don't care for him in Smash. I'm also utterly indifferent to Sonic and Lucario.

Controversial opinion time: Even when they killed the character change gimmick, they should have kept Red with Charizard. Hell, they should have added background trainers for EVERY Pokemon (excluding Mewtwo if he returns or any other legendaries become playable). Red for Charizard, Serena for Geninja, a Youngster for Pikachu, a Black Belt for Lucario, etc.

Pikachu with Ash and Lucario with Korrina make the most sense to me.

Yoshi was always the Smash character I cared about the least way back when I was nine years old playing Smash 64 and eleven playing Melee.

But I LOVED Yoshi's Island. I played so much of Yoshi's Island on my SNES. As a kid, games could take me a whole year to complete. But at the least, it took a few months. I remember spending a really long time on Yoshi's Island and loving every second of it.

But Yoshi as a Smash fighter just never worked for me. I would bet everyone has a character in Smash that does literally nothing for them and Yoshi is that character for me. If Yoshi was never in 64 I would never consider him viable either.

Under the criteria of "never would have considered them viable newcomers if they hadn't already shown up ages ago," Falco and Wolf, probably. I'd be as surprised at their addition as I would be if tonight's pic of the day showed Samurai Goroh as a newcomer. Not weird enough to earn a WTF selection like g&w or WFT, not obviously bringing something new to the table like IC or olimar, and not in a game where the actual characters inside the cockpit are relevant.

Fox and Capt Falcon are also of less importance to their actual franchises than the vehicles they ride in, but are obvious additions by virtue of being the main character.

Mine is probably Wario as well. Don't really feel one way or the other, despite being a huge Mario fan. I would't want him to disappear though, as that takes away all the Warioware goodies.

Wario for me as well, definitely. He's one of my least favorite characters ever (along with Waluigi and Tingle) and I wouldn't miss him in the least if he was cut. I don't hope for that, though, because I don't want the many Wario fans out there to be disappointed!

I also wouldn't miss R.O.B. or Wolf, really, but I'd miss them at least slightly more than Wario.

I think Jigglypuff fills that role for me. I genuinely don't hate or love the character, just someone I expect to show up. Can't say it'd matter to me if it disappeared, but I'd sympathize with those who lose a favorite character.

it is not time!

Ice Climbers.

I get that they're retro characters and all, but I've never cared for them.

You Monster!

Before she was announced, ZSS. Just a horribly boring playstyle imo. But the new additions make her seem like she could be more fun this time. Also, I don't find her to be too deserving of a character. She's a really odd pick for a second Metroid rep.

64: Ness
Melee: Young Link, Falco
Brawl: Wolf, Snake, Lucario
SSB4: too soon to judge... so Lucario lol.

I wouldn't wish cuts on anyone. So I'll make do in having Wolf/Snake/Lucario as CPU punching bags.

Jigglypuff. I have just never cared for the character. My heart goes out to those who'd lose a main, as I hate cuts, but I wouldn't care if she was gone. She's one of the original twelve though, so she's not going anywhere.

Might as well go all in on my pics across all the games too:

64: Jigglypuff
Melee: Pichu, Ice Climbers
Brawl: Ice Climbers, Snake
Sm4sh: No one. I like all the inclusions thus far!

Lucario. I was against his inclusion in Brawl, but I eventually ended up manning him for a small period of time, and now with Smash 4, I'm cool with him being in, but I wouldn't be upset if he wasn't.

I think I'd be pretty upset if anybody was removed from SSB64.

In Melee it was probably Sheik or Young Link, at least in the context of whether they got into Brawl or not. I had negative feelings about some of the other clones though.

In Brawl it was Zamus. Didn't hate her addition, but I found myself pretty regularly forgetting she was even in the game due to how cumbersome it even was to switch to her.

SBB4 the closest character I can think of (or don't, for this matter) is Greninja, and even then I think he looks really fun to play as.

Hard to answer this one since I hate all the characters I want cut. Jigglypuff, Wolf, Falco, Snake, Lucina, Lucario, Toon Link, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Roy, Young Link, Rosalina and Luma, Wii Fit Trainer, Mii Fighters.

Pic of the day. Nightmare Wizard appears as an Assist Trophy! He will engulf the stage in darkness, and fighters will need to brawl blindly for a while. Look out for the effect before it goes dark, and play it to your advantage. Blinding and reversal effects even make the computer players mess up.
