I don't think Nightmare Wizard reverses the controls. I think that's one (or two?) of the legendary Pokemon.

Sakurai was probably just explaining that such stage-wide effects affect even the computer players.

Ohhh, man, that Nightmare AT looks incredible!

I like the inclusion of the Masked Man as well, but he seemed like another MetaKnight and being an OP character.

Yeah, he has a lot of techniques in his arsenal, so I feel like it would require a considerable deal of balancing on Sakurai's part. :/

Ok, I do have $5 in Wii U Deluxe promotion credit...so which one should I play first? Earthbound or Mother 3? Does it truly matter if I play one or the other out of order? I'm kinda in a rut of single player games right now anyway and based on both of you guys' posts I guess I gotta jump in now.

The order isn't imperative, but there are a number of Earthbound references in Mother 3 that you can appreciate much more after having played through the first game.

I never considered your username to be a direct reference to that Masked Man. Thought more of it as a generic username.

If I remember right, Nightmare in dream land was the first game in where you unlock metaknight as a playable character in his own campaign. So GOOOOOOD!
