Hey guys, I was wondering if there were any video links to the Ferguson Police Chief stating that Mike Brown was indeed shot 35 feet away? My father will only believe the police chief and the police chief only and it is frustrating the hell out of me.

You do know that the whole "paid administrative leave" is essentially house arrest right? I know gaf likes to get outraged and maybe thinks the cop is on a Caribbean cruise getting a tan while the investigation is ongoing or something like that but it really isn't the case.

It really is a shame, but I think at this point it's pretty obvious the PD is trying to obfuscate the issue to protect their own asses. Why else release that video against the wishes of the federal investigators/DoJ/Governor?

The fact that an international watch dog group is actually stepping foot on US soil in this day and age to monitor the situation should be a national embarrassment for all.

I'm sure most will go on victim blaming however. I've lost a lot more friends and former fellow graduates from high school in the past few days then I thought I would over this.

Go ahead and call me a contrarian all you want, I still think a lot of you guys are choosing not to think the situation all the way through because you want so badly to hate Zimmerman. I get that, a kid is dead and he should not be. But most of you guys aren't objective, so just admit it. Most people here made up thier minds long ago as soon as they heard the word Skittles and can't wait to find any possible hole in Z's story and are not viewing all the media articles and reports with adequate skepticism.

As for the security tapes, I agree that he doesn't looks like road pizza. In certain frames, I can see what looks like he may have a black eye and a broken nose. Nothing visible on his head. It is blurry though and doesn't tell you how long after the altercation this was. Did he change his clothes? Did he get cleaned up? I dunno. Still doesn't negate the aforementioned scenario about struggling for a gun.

So I expect to be called names for this, whatever. I'm a murderer defender blah blah blah. Actually, I don't think Zimmerman should have ever got out of his car. He acted irresponsibly. Doesn't prove that he stalked and chased and murdered anyone.

I just can't help but interject when I see such a one-sided discussion blinded by (understandable) emotion egged on by bad media reporting and involving a lack of all the facts.

TBH, trying to visualize him charging at the cops and getting shot in those particular places sounds like quite a stretch, especially when the shots most likely connected at mid-rane.

Well that's great that his whereabouts are known to the necceary people, I don't think it's too much for him to be locked up until the investigation is over. It would go a long way to calming down some of the tensions in Ferguson.

Actually the entry wounds on his hand and forearm either/both could have easily occurred while he was running away. That article is pretty ambiguous. I have a feeling Baden may have said all four wound were to the anterior of the deceased arm which the press inferred, possibly incorrectly, to mean he was not shot from behind.

I'll ask again, was Wilson hurt or anything? In my continuing debates with my dad over this, one of his main points is that Wilson had injuries so he probably fired in self defense to protect himself. Since you know, adrenaline, fighting for your life, etc., etc.

Yes, he was apparently treated at the hospital. No, we do not know the extent of his injuries, outside of a swollen face.

Johnson statement includes a struggle at the vehicle, so Wilson may have been hurt.

In the past seven days, US police officers have shot and killed at least 6 unarmed (black) men.

In all of 2012, German police shot and killed 6, at least 2 of whom were armed, based off that link.

What was your point again?


Bonus: Looks like every time the shooter (police officer) was charged.

I think you're missing the point. After the first shot most people would presumably be either incapacitated or dead. Someone fires 12 shots they're not aiming to incapacitate.

Being shot in the torso is more life-threatening than being shot in the leg. I assume being shot in the arm is even less life threatening, but that also means you're not firing down and there's a chance you could shoot a bystander.

So, I only found this video but he never states that Brown was shot 35 feet away directly, even though pretty much every single piece of evidence points to this my dad will not believe "the media" unless it's on video. Anyone got anything more conclusive?

That or he was shot as he was falling down from the other shots. It does sound like the cop went trigger happy.

CNN is all over the place, first the one guy is saying the protestors have weapons now they are kind of questioning their own people. The producer or whoever he is, is saying they weren't shooting at cops.
