What else can they add, really?
Should I feel bad if I'm liking J&D: The Last Frontier A WHOLE LOT more than Jak II? I've tried like 2 times to play that game and I hate it.
Then you know what to do. That game is awesome.
Hopefully we'll get date and price for EU too. Seriously, I want to preorder the damn thing, let me buy your games, Sony!

Debating getting a Vita solely for remote play--I plan on going full digital next Fall on my PS4. Does anyone think this is a bad idea? Is remote play not that good? (I will probably try to buy a used Vita)

This is my personal opinion on the game. And about those hating SAO, you know how it goes. "I hate thing because everyone is watching it". Sure the second arc isn't perfect (I'd say this game would make a better second arc than ALO but I digress) but I don't understand the hate for the series. I for one loved it, and I'm not ashamed to say it *shrugs*

I think you can hate SAO the anime, and still love this game. The combat is really interesting/engaging and the amount of content is impressive as hell. If you like really big RPGs and open worlds, I think this game is worth checking out. Regardless if you are a fan of the series.
I do think that the game expects you to have seen up to episode 14, but I still think this is just a great game overall, that any fan of the genre would really like.
probably just a waste for remote play only, Vita has plenty of good games by itself
but I finished the BF4 SP campaign through remote play lol

I'd actually love an Activity Log similar to the one on the 3DS.
I agree with this statement despite not having played the game yet. I watched the first SAO season and it was just "okay" for me but after watching some gameplay videos I had the impression that the game could be really fun especially since I can normally tolerate story/character flaws when the gameplay is great (Star Ocean 4).

Oh, I haven't watched the show -yet?-, is still worth buying? Retail version in Europe (or online pass/multiplayer option?)? I do like long games on Vita (that sleep mode is just glorious, I am planning to buy Disgaea 4 and some Aterlier's games even though I already own them for PS3), but I am not sure if I will follow the story or enjoy completely the game... but judging solely for your comments, it is like I need this game.

I'd actually agree with this, I haven't watched the whole dub of SAO but I really liked what I heard.
Still the JP voices are awesome as well imo. I can appreciate both voice casts <3
Eugh, given the quality of the text translation I can only imagine how little effort would be put into, and thus how cringe worthy a dub would be. That is actually the reason I prefer a lot of japanese games subbed to dubbed. I can tell when an actor speaking in English is doing a bad job, phoning it in, or overacting and it can really ruin the game/show for me. But I don't speak Japanese, so they can be terrible actors all they want and I don't notice. Sounds silly, but I have seen so many awful anime dubs that outright ruin the show because of poor quality VA work that I actually play most games in Japanese audio if they have that option. I am also apparently more critical than most, I absolutely hated Chie's VA in the P4G dub, and it prevented me from playing the game for a while at first because she was one of the main people you interacted with early on.
There will be references/characters and little things you won't get, but I wouldn't say its absolutely necessary to watch the show first to enjoy the game. The game has a short recap as far as explaining the setting too.
As for Japan sales, it's the overall 4th best selling Vita game
SAO? It is worth buying but you would get more out of it by at least watching eps 1 - 14 but that said, the game is pretty good as a whole I'd say.
No Retail or online pass but there is ad-hoc MP along with SP MP with AI folks.
Sales in Japan are over 200k, think someone posted the exact number in the OT but I don't have it on hand atm.

So I have watched the whole first season of SAO a long time ago but never watched the movie, and I want to brush up on the story a bit before playing the game. Would the movie be enough of a recap to familiarize myself with events/characters important to the game, should I re-watch up to episode 14 of the anime or does the recap in the game cover enough that I would be fine?
E: If it matters, I run on a treadmill 45 minutes in the morning 45 minutes in the afternoon while watching shows on my iPad, so I could get through the first 14 episodes in about 4 days if I watched it while running, so time isn't really a factor.

You could get away with the movie yeah. You've already seen the main anime so the movie is just recapping and reminding you of what you already know.
Well, considering how Jak II REALLY is cheap with its difficulty, has some really unfair fire-fights and (despite it doing it somewhat well) feeling very forced with its 'darkness' and 'mature-ness'....I'm not shocked you like Lost Fronter more
. I think think the only real issues Lost Frontier really has are the Dark Daxter levels (with reviewers call it 'mindless' and 'boring'), the story not being as good as Jak 3 and/or the camera issues are bad (though I would like to think that mapping the L/R buttons to the right stick fixes this).
Honestly, those flaws don't sound bad at all and all seem very subjective in a platformer. The original Jak only had an okay story (same with RAD's Daxter) but it was a damn good game

My only hesitancy in getting SA:O is I will have to buy a new memory card. (I only have 8GB)
so the cost of playing this game goes from $40 to $80.
I don't know if it is worth the upgrade cost on top of the base game cost.

You can't delete any games off your Vita? I mean, if you don't have PS+ you could always back up your saves via PC Content Manger and even flat out copies your games to your PC to save some space on your Vita :l.

Well I doubt that because I actually like the cast of Persona 4 Golden, and only a few of the characters from SAO are even remotely interesting to me. One of the few things I like about that second season of SAO is that Sinon as a heroine is more potentially interesting than any of the other heroines.
This is going to be another case of "I think Naruto and One Piece are awful" but then I'll play their respective games (the one that recently got a demo on PSN and One Piece Warriors respectively) and I'll enjoy them just as games and also laugh at shit that seems stupid.
Why couldn't Jojo Allstar Battle be better beyond just fan-service for Jojo fans. God damn it. At least I still have the Capcom fighting game which is fantastic.
Sounds reasonable, especially since I think it comes with the PSP game as well. Is there any info on whether the PSP game is a separate download or is merged with Hollow Fragment? I want to try and conserve memory space
It is a expansion, all in one game.
Eh. Persona 4 had a lot better story and cast of characters. But I guess I could see it being the next game that is a "must buy" for the Vita. I guess if one was to love the SAO universe and the characters, then maybe the game would be up to that level.

Actually. The PSP game is the Vita game :/. Hollow Fragment is Infinity Moment + Hollow Fragment(as new chapter, new expansion etc.) :/.
Not to mention 500mb+ patch, youll need bigger card.

... Oh that explains it. Yeah I'll go hunt for at the very least an 8GB. I think I can get away with 8GB since I don't normally keep anything on my HDD or memory cards for other game systems if I'm not playing them.
Oh Jim. At the end of the Gamescom conference it looked like he was one of the people who took their Vita and slowly caressed it and went "It's okay, I know you exist at least"

If that's a review of the US version, he's breaking embargo. I'm pretty sure it's not though, as I know who that is.
You can't back up what's on the card to PC/PS3?
SAO:HF is just shy of 3000MB installed and the patch is only supposed to be 500-800MB max, that should easily fit on an 8GB card and depending on the patch might even fit on a 4GB.

I'm predicting that the majority will give it at least an 8. I don't see how this game could get anything lower. I mean, not to sound like a broken record, but the amount of content this game gives you for your money is fuckin insane. And the gameplay is really great.
